When Frank arrived here, he was partially paralyzed. Unfortunately, after we took him to the vet, it was determined there were no surgical options that could help him. Since then, he has been on a special diet to get his weight down. He is also taking a daily medication to help him, and we are so happy to report it is really working. You can see more videos of this special-needs cutie on our Instagram page @thebrittanyfoundation. Because we require visits here to our rescue and home checks, adoptions are limited to the Los Angeles, Ca area.

Story
Look for the info card in Spokes’ photos to learn more about him! Apply at Pupculturerescue.org/adopt Spokes came to us after being euthanasia listed at the shelter, where he was brought in as a stray and already paralyzed. He had wounds covering his legs from dragging around on pavement and was in terrible condition. That was back in April - and since then he has been incredibly loved and cared for in his foster home. Spokes is the absolute sweetest pup. He gets along with everyone! Like most paralyzed dogs, Spokes is incontinent and needs external pressure on his bladder to urinate. He defecates on a schedule. His care is simple and straightforward once in a routine. Our hope is that one day Spokes will learn to spinal walk. Spinal walking is a reflexive form of walking that the body can learn to do after severe spinal cord injury. He is doing GREAT in physical therapy (showing early signs of walking in hydrotherapy) which we will continue to fund until the money we raised for him runs out, even if he finds a forever home before then. Spokes is available for adoption. If you were interested in this very sweet, very special boy, please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions or apply on our website: Pupculturerescue.org/adopt

Story
Arnie was initially very shy, but he opened up quickly. Once comfortable, it’s easy to see that Arnie is smart, spunky, and such a sweet dog. He loves playing with other dogs, being loved by people and snuggling. He would be a perfect dog for any home; ideally with one or more dogs; as he was used to being in the field with his pack & at his foster home. He’s already potty pad & outdoor potty trained!

Story
Stanford is a 10 month old sweet, friendly 24 lb Dachshund mix pup who is ready to be your sidekick. He’s got soulful eyes and a wiggly butt that will melt your heart. This low-rider cutie may have a bit of pitbull in him, giving him an adorable, unique look…and he is SUPER smart! Stanford has been nothing but friendly with every person he’s met. He greets his humans with full-body wiggles and soaks up affection. He’s still learning not to jump up or get mouthy like an excited puppy, but he responds well to guidance. He hasn’t met children yet, but his foster is helping shape his manners every day. Stanford is wonderful with his foster’s two dogs and has been polite when introduced properly to new pups. On-leash or at a distance, he can get overly excited and has let out some big, intimidating barks. For a little guy, he can sound like a very big dog! His foster has been working consistently on this, and he’s already improving. It’s clear that Stanford didn’t have leash training before arriving at his foster home, but he’s caught on quickly. A harness and pack walks have helped him settle into a routine. He is crate trained and fully house trained as well. This clever boy has already learned to “sit”, and he now politely waits for the OK before diving into his food. He loves to learn and loves having a job — even if that job is just being part of the pack!
