Story
Frankie was adopted from a box outside the shelter. He was abandoned as a puppy and by a beautiful chance and grace, we found him! He survived starvation and sickness and was loved back into health. Frankie has always been energetic, playful and sweet. He is now 14 years old and still loves to play, loves to cuddle, and loves to spend quality time. Frankie is looking for a loving home, a home where he can spend quality time with people. He is still very energetic would love outdoor space, but is also very much an indoors dog. He is silly, playful but also calm and very patient.

Story
Meet Oscar   Oscar is a very special boy who has made incredible progress and continues to blossom in the right environment. We are so proud of how far he has come.   Oscar is completely deaf, and while imaging (CT/MRI) shows no structural defects, we suspect there may be some additional neurological impact from a past accident — or he may simply have been born this way. What we do know is that Oscar experiences the world a little differently… and he does it with a huge heart.   He thrives on routine and predictability. A consistent schedule helps him feel safe and confident. He loves food, adores cozying up by a fireplace in the winter, enjoys baths, and is happily crate trained. He also loves playing with his buddy Phineas.   Oscar continues to work through anxiety around strangers. He is not a dog who will immediately greet new people — he needs time and space. Typically, it takes about a day for him to feel comfortable enough to take a treat from someone new. Within 1–2 days, he’ll happily sit beside a new person on the couch — as long as they allow him to initiate touch. Once he chooses you, his affection is deep and genuine. He is incredibly loving and very sensitive.   Because he is deaf, he can miss social cues from other dogs. When excited, he runs with pure joy — sometimes barreling through the house without much awareness of who might be in his path. He can become overstimulated and may push past other dogs if he wants something. He also fiercely guards high-value treats. However, he responds well to clear boundaries and hand signals, including a firm “no” signal from his person.   Oscar does not chase cats.   He would do best in a calm, structured home with an experienced adopter who understands shy or neurologically unique dogs. An adult-only home or one without frequent visitors would be ideal. He could thrive as an only dog, or with another easygoing dog of similar age and energy level who can tolerate Oscar’s excitement and doesn’t take offense to his occasional social awkwardness.   Oscar is not a “plug-and-play” dog — he is a relationship dog. He bonds deeply. He feels deeply. And in the right home, with patience and routine, he will give a loyalty and love that is truly extraordinary.   If you believe that some of the most special dogs are the ones who need just a little extra understanding, Oscar may be your heart dog.   ##2359017##

Lady is out there collecting gold stars like it’s her full-time job!   Leash manners? Crate trained? Potty wins? Stairs champ? No resource guarding? Dog social but people-focused?   And the fact that she’s carefully tiptoeing around the other dogs on the bed? That’s pure sweetheart energy right there. located in Cotati, CA   ##2656120##

Story
Foster, foster to adopt, or adopt Lincoln! Lincoln is a super sweet, loveable, 21 lb goofball. He was in very rough shape when he entered the shelter in Central California - for the second time in November (no fault of his own!!), and due to being a staff favorite, fortunately made his way out of the shelter system quickly and found himself at the REAL Bark rescue. After being in a loving foster for a few months, Lincoln has shown us what a wonderful boy he is, and at the still youthful age of 10, is full of life, love and excitement about the world. He is very food motivated, and gets extra excited around mealtimes, puzzle toys, a good bone, and happily joins in multiple short walks during the day. He loves getting cuddles + pets, and loves a good snooze. He’s overall just a really sweet boy and loves all people and dogs. He has some standard senior maintenance needs and his foster has built a wonderful manual to help his forever home maintain his comfort. He is ready to find that third forever home (3 is a charm!) to take him through his wonderful Golden years, where he will give back so much love to his people. We love seniors - they are the best, the wisest, and the loveliest and Lincoln is all of that! Please note that we are currently set up to adopt within the Los Angeles county area.

Story
Bailey is a very shy dog towards humans but will warm up to you if you have treats. Bailey has a very big appetite and loves eating. Bailey has a big stomach, playful, sweet, and he also knows how to spin, high five, sit, lay down, how to do paw, and even catch food if you throw it at him. There is nothing wrong with Bailey, it is that my home cannot house him.
