Odi was sadly left by his former people, tied outside a firehouse, and left with a heartbreaking letter that starts with "PLEASE TAKE MY SON" and ends with "I PROMISED HIM WE WOULD SEE THE WORLD BUT I CAN'T"...Clearly he was very much loved and his people fell into hard times. Now Odi is with The Real Bark and in foster. He is a sweet 15 lbs and 1 1-2 years old, loves other dogs and is a happy, friendly boy who loves life and everyone in it. He is a true gem, and good fortune will shine upon the person who would like to continue his story and show him all the future that his former owner, sadly could not. Odi is doing extremely well in a foster home setting with his slightly bigger foster brother. He is housetrained, good in his crate, likes his walks, and is an all around nice, kind soul. Odi loves every person and every dog that he meets, and gets super excited to see and say hi to all. He deserves the very best in his next journey of his life. Foster, foster to adopt, or adopt Lincoln! Lincoln is a super sweet, loveable, 21 lb goofball. He was in very rough shape when he entered the shelter in Central California - for the second time in November (no fault of his own!!), and due to being a staff favorite, fortunately made his way out of the shelter system quickly and found himself at the REAL Bark rescue. After being in a loving foster for a few months, Lincoln has shown us what a wonderful boy he is, and at the still youthful age of 10, is full of life, love and excitement about the world. He is very food motivated, and gets extra excited around mealtimes, puzzle toys, a good bone, and happily joins in multiple short walks during the day. He loves getting cuddles + pets, and loves a good snooze. He’s overall just a really sweet boy and loves all people and dogs. He has some standard senior maintenance needs and his foster has built a wonderful manual to help his forever home maintain his comfort. He is ready to find that third forever home (3 is a charm!) to take him through his wonderful Golden years, where he will give back so much love to his people. We love seniors - they are the best, the wisest, and the loveliest and Lincoln is all of that! Please note that we are currently set up to adopt within the Los Angeles county area.

Meet Pockets & Button — Tiny Babies, Big Hearts Meet Pockets and Button, an adorable brother-and-sister duo who are about 8 weeks old and ready for families of their very own. Pockets, our tan-and-white little boy, is sweet, affectionate and curious. He loves being close to his people, and with that tiny face and little body, you almost wish you really could carry him around in your pocket. The Bandit Litter is a sweet little group of five 9 week old Dachshund Mix puppies, with four boys and one girl. They came into care alongside their mom, Bandit, after their owner surrendered the family because they had more dogs than they were able to care for. These puppies are now at such a wonderful age to begin discovering what it means to have a family of their own. They’re good with kids, dogs, and cats, and each puppy is starting to reveal the little details that will make them who they are. Some may be more outgoing, some more thoughtful, and others may have a knack for getting themselves right in the middle of whatever is going on. Watching those individual personalities emerge is part of what makes this age so special. The Bandit Litter is at the age where life is mostly about play, naps, snacks, and figuring out why everything within reach deserves a closer look. They’ll need families prepared for the work that comes with puppyhood, but in return, they’ll have the chance to grow up surrounded by the people who will love them for all the wonderfully ridiculous things they do. We hold an event every weekend at our facility on SATURDAY and SUNDAY 11-5pm and open to the public. It is first come first serve we do not evaluate applications prior to an event. If there are multiple interested parties in the same dog or puppy at the same time we would pick the best out of the 10 applications. Please visit our social media platforms for the specifics for each weekend as it changes from week to week.
