Story
Meet Honey – A Sweetheart Looking for Her Forever Home! Honey is a beautiful 2-year-old, 35-pound pocket pittie with a heart full of love. She may be a little shy at first, but once she feels comfortable, she’s incredibly sweet and affectionate. This special girl walks well on a leash and has a moderate energy level—she enjoys her daily strolls and exploring the yard. Honey had an injury as a puppy that gives her a unique gait, and she also experiences some incontinence. However, she’s making great progress with potty training and will go outside when taken out frequently. Honey would thrive in a home with a fenced yard where she can safely explore. She would do best as an only pet or with a calm dog of similar size. No cats or small dogs, please. Due to her needs, a home with children aged 12 and up is preferred. Honey is ready to find a patient, loving family who will cherish her for the special dog she is. Could that be you? Fill out an application today and meet this sweet girl!

Story
Meet Roscoe! This 7 year old was very fearful for his first few months in the shelter, but has come so far. He still takes time to warm up to new friends, but is always happy to play outside his kennel. Roscoe will chase after plushies all day long. He`s looking for a home with an experienced adopter familiar with earning the trust of nervous pup. @vcanimalservices AMAZING PROGRESS - but Roscoe still needs an adopter after 6 months in shelter. This boy was once so fearful of dogs and people that he spent most of his time in a kennel covered with a blanket to reduce stress. Though he still needs time to warm up to new people, Roscoe is making more and more friends! He’s proving to be playful and loves toys. Though he has struggled with touch, he is even starting to warm up to belly rubs. ?? This plea is for a rescue group or patient individual with no children or pets. Someone who understands that Roscoe is not your average adoption candidate. Befriending Roscoe and building his confidence will be a project. He is a beautiful work-in-progress who needs someone prepared to take on the challenges and joys of helping him become his best self. ?? To learn more about Roscoe, visit him on our website (www.vcas.us/dogs) or email animal.care@ventura.org for more info. ?? #TeamRoscoe ? original sound - Ventura County Animal Services

Story
PLEASE READ THIS PROFILE AND THE REQUESTED CRITERIA BEFORE CALLING OR SUBMITTING AN APPLICATION. THANKS FOR YOUR ATTENTION AND CONSIDERATION HERE’S BONNIE AND WINNIE…..and if they hadn’t come with those names, we would have named them Lovey and Dovey, they are that sweet. They are littermates and have never been separated and only with one owner. Sadly, their senior mom is going into assisted living and can’t take them with her. They have been loved and well treated, as best a senior can do…but she never gave them shots, had them spayed, put on a collar, walked them on a leash and were rarely taken outside!! They are potty pad trained…and now, they walk pretty well on a leash, the collars are on, they’ve been vaccinated, microchipped and spayed and they are healthy as can be! BONNIE is a bundle of energy! At almost 4 yrs old, she is a 13 lb, black and white soft scruffy DoxiPoo, as best as we can tell. She doesn’t seem to shed much, but unlikely hypoallergenic. She is the leader and gets uber excited when she sees you! Bonnie will give you a bath with her tongue if you let her — she loves to tell her person how much they are appreciated. WINNIE is just 9.5 lbs, tan in color and also a DoxiPoo. She is not scruffy like her sister — her coat is soft and silkier. The more low key of the two, she is a bit on the timid side at first — but don’t let that fool you! She gets equally excited to see you and kiss you — just less demonstrative than her sister. Winnie is a bit on the fearful side and not as outgoing as Bonnie initially, but this is all very new to them. With practice and patience, we believe they will be model citizens. They are just learning what toys are!! The ideal home for these lovebugs will have a yard to make their potty training easier on their family. They don’t like being left alone! When they first arrived, they howled if I wasn’t around, but now that they feel safe, they are very quiet. Still, we don’t think an apartment would be the best for them. They need to know they are loved and in their forever home, and lots of attention and opportunities to experience the world around them. Their balanced energy is the perfect match…Winnie would love to stay and sit on your lap, while Bonnie goes running with a family member! Our website is updated daily. Please do not apply for this dog unless your home fits the specified criteria. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped, groomed, vet checked, dewormed, deflea'd and come with a leash, collar and ID If you are interested in adopting a pup from Lhasa Happy Homes, please complete the Adoption Application before calling. We will contact you once it has been reviewed. Lhasa Happy Homes will be now holding our adoption events the 1st and 3rd Sundays of the month on Main Street in Santa Monica (check calendar link below for special events and directions). Our event is located at 2116 Main Street, in Santa Monica, CA. Here you will have an opportunity to interact with the dogs and see which might be a perfect fit with your household. Main Street is famous for its innovative shops and is close to the beach! Make a day of it!! Metered parking on the street and free parking on 4th and Bicknell Streets. Here you will have an opportunity to interact with the dogs and see which might be a perfect fit with your household....and do some fantastic shopping at the same time! Please do call us if you are coming to see a particular dog to make sure he/she will be at adoptions (we do not bring sick dogs to our adoption events). Please bring pictures or video of your home and yard if we have not done a home check (preferred)! Most importantly, if you have a dog, make sure you bring him or her to do a compatibility match with the dog you are interested in adopting! Don't forget to check out our Events Calendar for more information on upcoming events! See our home page for more details about our adoptions at Lhasa Happy Homes Thanks for thinking rescue and adoption and for considering saving a life. It will be the best gift you ever give yourself or your family.

Story
Breed: Miniature Dachshund DOB: 2/2013 Gender: female Altered: yes Coat: medium Size: small Color(s): brown/white dapple Description: Hi, I'm Lulu, a sweet Miniature Dachshund with lots of love to give. I am playful and outgoing, but unfortunately, my previous owner went through a divorce, and my living situation changed as a result. I'm used to living in a bigger house with a yard, but now I reside in a small apartment. This change has been difficult for me to adjust to, and as a result, I bark when left alone which doesn't bode well with the neighbors. I walk well on leash and come when called. I've lived with children and a cat and did fine, but due to my small size I may do best in a home with older children. I need a little time to get to know other dogs, but after that I'm fine as long as they don't get in my face. I'm a senior dog who is looking for a loving retirement home where I can spend my golden years. If you think you could give me the home I need, please fill out an online application so we can meet.May 5, 2025, 8:20 pm
