Story
PLEASE READ THIS PROFILE AND THE REQUESTED CRITERIA BEFORE CALLING OR SUBMITTING AN APPLICATION. THANKS FOR YOUR ATTENTION AND CONSIDERATION MEET WINNIE…a precious, loving, sweet 4-5 yr old, cream, ~10 lbs, mix of Maltese/Doxie? Her breed is a mystery, but her story is not. Winnie came to LHH with her sister Bonnie when their senior mom went into assisted living and couldn’t take them. Early NYE morning, a tragic freak accident took Bonnie’s life…and away from Winnie. While Winnie is now flying solo, we know that Bonnie is guiding her journey to find the perfect forever home, and we’re going to help make that happen! Despite all odds, Winnie is doing so much better than expected and she’s really adjusting wonderfully. Unfortunately, she got a crew-cut makeover, but hair grows back! First picture is what she will look like and the others are her present “do”. We think she’s adorable either way! She loves being with the other fosters and definitely needs a home where there is at least one other small dog. She loves chin and belly rubs, treats, snuggling and cuddling in blankets and residing on your lap. She is potty pad trained…and now walks pretty well on a leash. She can be vocal when startled or hearing noises outside. She has been vaccinated, microchipped, spayed and is healthy — but she does have IBD, so she requires lifelong probiotics and special food. Winnie can be a little timid at first, but once she feels comfortable she bonds like superglue! And, she’s a big kisser! What she needs now is a home where she will be doted on and loved to life. We think she would do better in a house than an apartment or condo — loves to do zoomies in her foster mom’s backyard! She is affectionate and the best family would be one who is sensitive, warm, low-key and supportive to bring Winnie back to the happy life she had. Could that family be yours? Our website is updated daily. Please do not apply for this dog unless your home fits the specified criteria. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped, groomed, vet checked, dewormed, deflea'd and come with a leash, collar and ID If you are interested in adopting a pup from Lhasa Happy Homes, please complete the Adoption Application before calling. We will contact you once it has been reviewed. Lhasa Happy Homes will be now holding our adoption events the 1st and 3rd Sundays of the month on Main Street in Santa Monica (check calendar link below for special events and directions). Our event is located at 2116 Main Street, in Santa Monica, CA. Here you will have an opportunity to interact with the dogs and see which might be a perfect fit with your household. Main Street is famous for its innovative shops and is close to the beach! Make a day of it!! Metered parking on the street and free parking on 4th and Bicknell Streets. Here you will have an opportunity to interact with the dogs and see which might be a perfect fit with your household....and do some fantastic shopping at the same time! Please do call us if you are coming to see a particular dog to make sure he/she will be at adoptions (we do not bring sick dogs to our adoption events). Please bring pictures or video of your home and yard if we have not done a home check (preferred)! Most importantly, if you have a dog, make sure you bring him or her to do a compatibility match with the dog you are interested in adopting! Don't forget to check out our Events Calendar for more information on upcoming events! See our home page for more details about our adoptions at Lhasa Happy Homes Thanks for thinking rescue and adoption and for considering saving a life. Story
Katie is a low-rider with a larger-than-life personality! This adorable, long-haired Dachshund mix was rescued from the euthanasia list at Rancho Cucamongo with a broken hip and 2 fractured legs, likely from being hit by a car. Fully recovered now, Katie's a happy-go-lucky girl who’s always on the move and ready for fun. She is packed with spunk, charm, and just the right amount of sass. Katie is great with kids and other dogs, and she absolutely lives for playtime. Her favorite game? Tug-of-war! She’ll race you to the toy bin, pick out her prize, and show off her skills with pride. She’s also a bit of a goofball who loves being the boss (in the cutest way possible), and she’ll keep you smiling with her hilarious antics and energetic spirit. If you’re looking for a sweet, funny, and endlessly entertaining companion, Katie is your girl. She’s spayed, micro-chipped, vaccinated and house trained (but will need some help in a new environment). Katie is currently being fostered in San Bernadino County, CA and must be picked up from there. For adoption information, please contact AlphaDogPetRescue@yahoo.com.

Story
Look for the info card in Spokes’ photos to learn more about him! Apply at Pupculturerescue.org/adopt Spokes came to us after being euthanasia listed at the shelter, where he was brought in as a stray and already paralyzed. He had wounds covering his legs from dragging around on pavement and was in terrible condition. That was back in April - and since then he has been incredibly loved and cared for in his foster home. Spokes is the absolute sweetest pup. He gets along with everyone! Like most paralyzed dogs, Spokes is incontinent and needs external pressure on his bladder to urinate. He defecates on a schedule. His care is simple and straightforward once in a routine. Our hope is that one day Spokes will learn to spinal walk. Spinal walking is a reflexive form of walking that the body can learn to do after severe spinal cord injury. He is doing GREAT in physical therapy (showing early signs of walking in hydrotherapy) which we will continue to fund until the money we raised for him runs out, even if he finds a forever home before then. Spokes is available for adoption. If you were interested in this very sweet, very special boy, please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions or apply on our website: Pupculturerescue.org/adopt

Ty is a gorgeous red and white piebald short hair Dachshund. He is all ready for his forever home.  Up to date on all vaccinations, rabies, and had a dental. Ty is 9 years old, and about 20 pounds. He's going to need an experienced owner as he growls and snaps quite a bit at other dogs, and people.  He doesn't like cats. No young children, and he may do best as the only dog in the home. If you are interested in adopting Ty, please complete an adoption application on our website to be pre-approved:  www.dachshundrescueoflosangeles.com      October 29, 2024, 1:06 am
