Story
Foster, foster to adopt, or adopt Lincoln! Lincoln is a super sweet, loveable, 21 lb goofball. He was in very rough shape when he entered the shelter in Central California - for the second time in November (no fault of his own!!), and due to being a staff favorite, fortunately made his way out of the shelter system quickly and found himself at the REAL Bark rescue. After being in a loving foster for a few months, Lincoln has shown us what a wonderful boy he is, and at the still youthful age of 10, is full of life, love and excitement about the world. He is very food motivated, and gets extra excited around mealtimes, puzzle toys, a good bone, and happily joins in multiple short walks during the day. He loves getting cuddles + pets, and loves a good snooze. He’s overall just a really sweet boy and loves all people and dogs. He has some standard senior maintenance needs and his foster has built a wonderful manual to help his forever home maintain his comfort. He is ready to find that third forever home (3 is a charm!) to take him through his wonderful Golden years, where he will give back so much love to his people. We love seniors - they are the best, the wisest, and the loveliest and Lincoln is all of that! Please note that we are currently set up to adopt within the Los Angeles county area.

Story
Current Location: Korea 🇰🇷 ♡ 🐾 Hershey – The Short-Legged Sweetheart 🐾 💗 Personality Loves human touch and attention, very affectionate even with strangers. No biting. Curious and loves other dogs (would do great as a second dog). High energy level (5/5) due to his young age. Shares food and treats with other dogs without fighting (especially loves treats). 📜 Rescue Story Found wandering dangerously along a roadside with a metal chain still attached to him and was rescued to safety. 🐶 Social Skills With Adults: Friendly to everyone regardless of age or gender; loves being petted. With Kids: (Not yet tested – can be assessed if needed) With Dogs: Very social; approaches first to give playful signals. With Cats: No aggression; friendly and shows positive interest. 🏡 Living Habits Potty Training: Likely lived chained outdoors before, but does not show excessive marking. Prefers to go near or on pee pads; may mark over spots where other dogs have marked. Toys: Not particularly toy-focused, but enjoys small plush toys and playing with items like towels or light T-shirt material. Separation/Barking: May whine or bark a little when left in a separate space, but calms down quickly. Walks: Slight leash pulling but walks well overall. Handling: Enjoys being touched even by strangers. Escape Risk: Afraid to step outside the door, but caution is still advised. Goes up stairs well but is careful going down. Car Rides: Has little experience, so needs to be lifted into the car, but gets out easily. In a travel kennel, may scratch to get out at first but settles quickly. 🌟 Adoption Notes Hershey is an active, social, and happy boy. He would thrive in a home with another friendly dog or with a family who can give him plenty of walks and activities. With his affectionate nature toward both people and animals, he will quickly bond with his forever family.

Look for the info card in Spokes’ photos to learn more about him! Apply at Pupculturerescue.org/adopt Spokes came to us after being euthanasia listed at the shelter, where he was brought in as a stray and already paralyzed. He had wounds covering his legs from dragging around on pavement and was in terrible condition. That was back in April - and since then he has been incredibly loved and cared for in his foster home. Spokes is the absolute sweetest pup. He gets along with everyone! Like most paralyzed dogs, Spokes is incontinent and needs external pressure on his bladder to urinate. He defecates on a schedule. His care is simple and straightforward once in a routine. Our hope is that one day Spokes will learn to spinal walk. Spinal walking is a reflexive form of walking that the body can learn to do after severe spinal cord injury. He is doing GREAT in physical therapy (showing early signs of walking in hydrotherapy) which we will continue to fund until the money we raised for him runs out, even if he finds a forever home before then. Spokes is available for adoption. If you were interested in this very sweet, very special boy, please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions or apply on our website: Pupculturerescue.org/adopt

Story
H! My name is Ichi, and I am IN SOUTH KOREA waiting to be matched to a home in S. California! I was rescued along with 40 other friends from an abandoned caravan in Jinhae City, S. Korea. Despite abuse and neglect, I love being around people. Everyone I meet tells me that I am a charmer. My favorite pastime? Being petted. I am playful and affectionate. People say I make them happy!! When I am with people, they make me happy too!! LA AUTO SHOW 2025 (November, 2025) I plan on being at LA Auto Show this year at DoVE Project's booth. If you want to meet me in person, please email info@dove-project for more details regarding the days and hours of DoVE Project's booth. See you then!!! FOR LIMITED TIME ONLY FROM NOW THROUGH NOVEMBER 30TH, ICHI'S ADOPTION FEE IS REDUCED TO $600. I was rescued by DoVE Project 's rescue partner in S. Korea from an abusive situation. Although S. Korea's new law banning the dog meat consumption is set to go into effect February 2027, and the consumption is all time low, the practice is still in common exiistence amongst elderly population especially in the rural countryside. Had I not been rescued by DoVE Project's rescue partner in S. Korea, no one could tell where I would have ended up. Thanks to my rescuers and DoVE Project, I am no longer in danger and am now I am looking for my forever family! ********************************* DoVE Project has rescue partners in S. Korea who have their own private shelter and/or foster network. Our dogs stay with either a foster family or a private shelter until they are matched with an adopter in the US. Upon arrival in the US, our dogs stay in foster homes or in boarding, as we do not have a physical facility. These dogs are identified with "in LA" in their names. Please note that we only adopt our pups in the Southern California area. Please check our website for more information regarding our adoption process, our mission, and our adoption application: https://www.dove-project.org/adoption-process If you are interested in adopting, please complete an online application at: https://www.dove-project.org/adoption-application-form
