Story
Meet Mara (red) & Emily (black & tan); aka Ginger & MaryAnn, lol.  These bonded sisters are 12 years old & the sweetest pair ever!  They are on the smaller size, weighing in at about 11 pounds each, are up-to-date on their shots & are spayed. Both are potty trained as long as taken out regularly.  They are crate trained & sleep the night thru together.  They get along with other small dogs, not sure about cats or large dogs.  Both are a little shy at first, but warm up to new people very quickly.  Mara & Emily do well on a leash and enjoy lizard hunting in the backyard or sitting in the sun like most doxies. Mara is a bit more special needs and has IVDD, so she gets a monthly Librella injection at the vet which keeps her mobile.  She gets around on her own & does not need any help pottying.  Mara doesn’t do stairs but has learned to use a dog ramp to get to her favorite spot on the couch. They both had horrible dental disease, so DARE recently had dentals done; Emily lost all her teeth & Mara still has about 4 remaining.  Therefore, they are on soft foods. They love snuggling together when they are not snuggling on the coach with their person.  These two gals are very low key & easy going girls who would do best in a quiet home. Mara & Emily MUST stay together & are being fostered in Orlando but travel very well in a car.  If you think these two would make a good addition to your family, please fill out an adoption application & put their names on it. ♥ If you know I'm your forever pup, fill out an adoption application at daretorescue.org/adoption-application — and don't forget to put my name on your application! Story
Hi, I'm Flynn — and honestly, my story started a little rough. I was found running loose on the streets of Jacksonville with no chip, no ID, and no one coming to claim me. But here's the thing about me: I land on my feet. Or, well, all four paws. It took me a beat to trust my foster family, but once I did? Completely smitten. I'm a leashed-walk enjoyer, an other-dog tolerator, and a genuinely sweet boy who just needed someone to give him a chance. That someone might be you. My Ideal Home I'm good with other dogs and do well with both men and women. I just need a family that's patient with me during the "getting to know you" phase — I'm a little shy at first, but I warm up fast and I'm worth the wait. A Few Important Things to Know Heart murmur: A heart murmur was detected during my intake exam. It hasn't slowed me down, but my forever family should be prepared for regular vet monitoring and the possibility of future cardiac care. A vet visit shortly after adoption is a must. Fatty tumor: There's a benign fatty lump on my back leg — common and not currently a concern, but worth keeping an eye on with your vet. Working on my figure: I came in a little fluffy. A healthy diet and those leashed walks I love should help me get to my ideal weight over time. What I Bring to the Table Someone caught me running loose, someone drove to get me, someone opened their home to me — and I rewarded every single one of them with sweetness. That's just who I am. I was a little nervous at first, sure. But give me a minute and I will show you exactly who Flynn is: a gentle, loving, good-with-dogs boy who just wants a soft place to land. Permanently this time. If you know I'm your forever pup, fill out an adoption application at daretorescue.org/adoption-application — and don't forget to put my name on your application! Can't adopt but want to help? Story
Hi, I'm Daphne — and yes, my hair always looks like this. It's called effortless charm, and I've fully leaned in. I'm a tiny girl with a big personality, a warm lap obsession, and a look that can only be described as "just rolled out of bed and somehow pulled it off." I am happiest when I'm on my people — literally on them. Lap sitting, bed cuddling, pressed up against you while you pretend to watch TV — I'm in. I love leash walks, I play well with other small dogs (once I've had a moment to assess the situation), and I will absolutely let the cats know where they stand. Respectfully. With my tiny bark. My Ideal Home A home with older kids is totally fine — I love the energy. Other small dogs are welcome once we've properly introduced ourselves. Cat households, though? Hard pass. I'm not rude about it, but I am honest. A Few Important Things to Know Crate trained, but vocal about it: I'll go in the crate, but I will register my feelings about it. I do best in a home where alone time is limited or where my crate is just a nap option, not a sentence. Tiny dog, tiny bladder: I'm fully house trained and use pee pads like a champ — but I need regular bathroom access. Fenced yard or a committed leash-walk routine is a must. Cat-free zone: I have made my position on cats very clear with a series of small, determined barks. Best to skip the drama and skip the cats. What I Bring to the Table I am, by all accounts, exactly what I look like: a sweet, scruffy little love bug who just wants to find her person. I'm young, healthy, up to date on vaccines, recently spayed, and ready to melt into your life. If you want a playful, affectionate companion with great hair and zero apologies about it — I've been waiting for you. If you know I'm your forever pup, fill out an adoption application at daretorescue.org/adoption-application — and don't forget to put my name on your application! Can't adopt but want to help? Story
This is Luna. She is a 9-year-old Dachshund/Chihuahua/Yorkie mix with the sweetest little heart. Luna is truly a love bug. She loves to cuddle, be close to her people, and spend her days soaking up affection. She is house trained and would make a wonderful companion for someone looking for a loyal, gentle, snuggly girl. Luna does have a low thyroid condition, so she will need a home that is able to provide her with the special care and attention she requires. Unfortunately, due to changes happening in my life, I no longer have the capacity to care for her in the way she deserves. This decision has not been easy, and my biggest priority is finding Luna a loving home where she will be cared for, cherished, and given the time and attention she needs. Please reach out if you or someone you know may be able to give Luna the safe and loving home she deserves.

Story
GetALong Dachshund Rescue is pleased to introduce Greta and Shotzy. Greta and Shotzy are 9 years old, and weigh about 14 pounds. They are looking for their forever home together. This wonderful bonded pair are extremely loving. Their favorite place to be is with their person. They are looking for a home where they can sleep in the big bed and have lots of cuddles. They would like a home where their person is home with them most of the time, and where there are no children under the age of 10 years. They have not been cat tested but get along well with other dogs who are their own size. Because they are both very submissive, we are looking for a home for them without large dogs. They would like a home with a fenced yard so they can enjoy sunbeams and zoomies. Shotzy and Greta are very playful. They enjoy playing with toys and each other. They are very bonded and want to give each other kisses and cuddles and also love to share their love with their person. Both love to go for car rides and enjoy being anywhere their person is. They are working on their leash walking in their foster home in Ohio and are improving every day. Shotzy and Greta are both house trained. As with all rescue dogs it is to be expected that they may go through a period of adjustment when they come to their forever home, and patience and understanding will be important. Both Shotzy and Greta are crate trained. Greta and Shotzy are waiting for their forever home! Are you going to be the lucky one to adopt the sweetest dogs ever? Greta and Shotzy are going to make some lucky adopter very very happy! Apply today to adopt them!

Story
This sweet 5-year-old boy has been part of my family since he was just 6 weeks old. He has grown up in a loving home alongside a toy poodle and has enjoyed many playdates with dogs of all sizes, including a Pit Bulland German Shepherd. He has never bitten another person or animal. He can be a little skittish at first and tends to be skeptical of new things, but with a little reassurance, he warms up. He is well-trained, eager to please, and he understands exactly what’s expected of him. He knows several tricks and truly enjoys making his people happy. He is fully house-trained, loves going on walks (though they aren’t a must), and is happy to either jump around and play or lounge in bed all day.He would thrive in a loving home, without small children, where he can feel safe and secure.
