Story
Kylo Ren is 6 yrs old. He loves to cuddle no mater if its on the couch, on your lap or in your bed. This is why he is the perfect house dog. I have had him for a year and 6 months. Sadly due to recent medical and allergy issues I am no longer able to care for him; the longer I keep him; the more detrimental it is to my health. I am hanging in there as long as I can to be able to find him a home and not have to surrender him to a shelter. I would prefer to give him to a loving home, for he is an extremely loving Kylo. I have less then 3 weeks to find him a home and I currently have temporary help, so I can do just that. He is fantastic with kids and enjoys walks. Kylo is a relaxed and mellow buddy. He would be perfect for any household rather it be for someone single or a big family. Please contact me if you are interested in him being a part of your family. His shot records were updated as of Feb. 2024. He is free to any loving home. Thanks and I hope to speak with you soon.

Story
This adorable man is MoMo!  MoMo is 6 years old.  He is a dachshund mix.  MoMo enjoys going for walks and playing fetch.  He also enjoys a good belly rub.  MoMo can be a little nervous initially but warms up quickly (treats help).  MoMo will make a wonderful companion friend. He would do best in a home with someone who works from home or is home much of the time.  Any kids in the home will need to be over the age of 10, as he will need a family that can go slow and be gentle with him.  Interested in spending some play playing fetch with MoMo?  Please fill out an adoption application for a meet and greet.

Story
Meet Papaya! Papaya joined our ALDR family a few weeks ago after he was brought into the county shelter being witnessed to be hit by a car not once, but twice, which resulted in life threatening injuries. He was taken to Pasco County Animal Services where an exam showed that he had a large degloving wound on his left thorax/shoulder/sternal/neck area, severe bruising, bilateral fractured fibulas, left hip subluxation, pulmonary contusions, sclera hemorrhage and dental disease. Basically the little guy was in bad condition! Papaya was hospitalized and once he was stabilized he moved into one of our amazing, experienced foster homes with a certified technician that has been providing all care needed since. Sadly he sustained so many wounds, road rash and degloving and one of the largest wounds was becoming necrotic so Papaya ended up back at the ER. He had to have surgery again for full debridement and has since been getting wet-to-dry bandages daily. This stage could take weeks, but we are committed to him and are doing everything we can! Despite everything, little guy is doing exceptionally well and is full is spunk! His wounds are healing very well, he is taking his meds like a good boy and because of that he got his first pup cup! If interested in adopting please fill out the adoption application on our website at animalluvrs.org under the ADOPT tab. We will require veterinary, personal and property references that we will verify. Feel free to email us at aldr@animalluvrs.org for more information. All of our adoptable rescues have a clean bill of health (unless otherwise stated), are spayed/neutered, vaccinated (age-appropriately), tested (FeLV/FIV for cats, HW for dogs over 6 months of age), current on flea and heartworm prevention and microchipped. This is all included in their adoption fee that goes in as a donation to help us cover their medical costs and continue to help other animals in need. Any questions, concerns and suggestions, please feel free to contact us at ALDR@animalluvrs.org. ##1529757##

We take the dogs that are adopted down...so if a dog is on the website they are available. Obedience training and fully fenced in yard is required for all our pups.   Completion certificate for training needs to be emailed once complete.  When applying pictures/videos of your fully enclosed yard is needed. Please only send inquiries to the email in this bio all others will not be answered. Please read the bio before sending questions - we answer all we know about the dog here. If the question is not answered in the bio please send emails to   info@HeidisLegacyDogRescue.com "You've got some 'splaining to do!" Hey new best friend, We’re Lucy & Ricky! Our foster pawrents like to call us “Cece” & “Ricky Baker”, and we don’t mind at all! We’re about 2 years old, we think! All we know is that we were roaming the streets in New Mexico on June 24, 2022 when we were found and vetted. The vet said we were around 5-6 months old at the time. The nice family that found us kept us for a year until we all moved to Tampa. Our found family was having another baby and needed to move in with family. But too bad for us, the new house had multiple cats and we just don’t really get a long with cats. Now we’re being fostered in St. Pete, and it was like we’ve always lived here! We’re just happy pups living our best lives, waiting for our permanent forever home, together. Lucy: “First of all, bark bark bark, can I give you a bunch of kisses to show you how much I love you even though I just met you?? Thanks!! I think that need to kiss is because I think I’m part Chihuahua, maybe Dachshund, maybe something else? Now let me walk you through all my favorite things so you can prepare! First of all, I love my brother Ricky so much. When he’s not within eye sight, I like to make sure he’s around by finding him, and puling on his collar. He does the same to me too! We just love each other so much! I absolutely love snuggling under a blanket near my caretaker. If you have to get up to go do anything, don’t worry, I’ll come along! But as soon as you sit back down, it’s snuggle time. Sometimes my brother Ricky will try to take over my cuddle spot, and sometimes I let him after he tells me he REALLY wants to snuggle the human. My favorite is when BOTH humans are home so we have our own snuggle buddy. But we’ll settle for both sitting on you and pining for your attention. I am most excited when the humans wake up and will smother them with kisses and gentle nibbles. Sometimes, my 18lb self will get so excited I can’t control myself and I jump around with an open mouth. Im not trying to hurt anyone but sometimes my teeth will touch the humans skin and they tell me it hurts. (Even though I don’t think it really does…I just don’t think they want me doing that) Then!!! It’s breakfast time! I eat right next to Ricky where we enjoy our dry kibble with some chicken breast atop. If I leave to follow you around, Ricky will try to hijack my food! But he’s not mean about it, just sneaky! I like it best when you hang with me while we eat. After that it’s go time in the back yard for potty time. Ricky and I will sprint as fast as we can around the fenced in yard, chasing each other around and having some super fun wrestle mania moments! I am the ultimate lizard hunter and will run and chase them. I also like chasing just about anything! I’m so fast Ricky can hardly keep up! We love to wrestle and tumble around. And I LOVE toys! Oh boy oh boy! You toss a toy, and I’ll get it for you right away! Sometimes Ill even bury them so Ricky can’t find them, hehe. We are so used to playing freely in a fenced in yard that when our foster pawrents take us for walks, we give them a run for their money! We don’t really understand how walks work, BUT WE LOVE BEING OUTSIDE! Anyway, after dinner time we are ready to settle in for the night. Don’t get my wrong, we’d love to go out for a car ride or on an adventure, a walk, play in the backyard…but honestly, we’re super okay with just snuggling on the couch and catching up on some shows! I’d love to sleep with you in bed under the blankets but I am also ok sleeping in my crate with my blankie. Ricky: “HI BARK BARK BARK! I’m a big small boy who enjoys simple pleasures like snuggling, looking our the window with Lucy, snoozing, eating, treats, and chasing Lucy in the backyard. (She’s so fast!!!) Unlike Lucy, I’m not as emotional and won’t go super crazy when you get home. I’ll greet you with a couple kisses, a wagging tail, and promptly sit on you the moment I’m able. The first time I meet you I will have to greet you with my low woofs, but I quit that out as soon as I see you’re a good human. I am protective of my humans, but super curious so while the woof may startle you, I’m just a big baby who just wants a lil attention and I use my voice to obtain it! (Smart right?!) I love children because they are at my level and so fun to play with. I’m gentle with them but Lucy might steal their stuffy! (I might steal it back if she takes it!) It’s probably best that if you have a kiddo with stuffies, that you only let us play with Nyla Bones or other harder chew toys so we don’t get confused between a stuffy and our play toy! Lucy and I lovey to chase small animals, like mice, lizards, bunnies, squirrels, birds, ect. It feels like something implanted in our DNA that makes us tiny hunters. Oh, so new foster ma has cut back on our portion sizes for breakfast and dinner because she said we were “thick”. (24lbs of pure love!) I don’t agree with her but I don’t want my legs to start hurting   Lucy & Ricky's adoption fee is $600 - 0bedience training required after adoption and fully enclosed fenced in yard is also required for these two.   To apply to foster or adopt please fill out application at www.heidislegacydogrescue.com/apply-to-foster-or-adopt Thank you for completing the application. If the question is not answered in the bio please send emails to   info@HeidisLegacyDogRescue.com Introducing Elvis: The King of Cuteness! Hello world, Elvis has entered the building! At a sprightly 10 months old, I'm a full-size Daschund mix with a big personality and an even bigger heart. Some might call me 'big-boned,' but I prefer to think of myself as just more to love! I'm a busy pup with a schedule packed tighter than a can of sardines. Whether I'm chasing my tail, exploring the great outdoors, or perfecting my rendition of 'Hound Dog,' there's never a dull moment with me around. Water is my jam! Whether it's drinking it up like it's going out of style or crashing your shower party, I'm always up for some aqua antics. Fear not, pawrents! I come fully equipped with impeccable potty training skills and a track record cleaner than a freshly groomed poodle. Your shoes and furniture are safe in my paws! I'm a social butterfly who loves making new fur-iends. While I may take a bit of time to warm up to bigger dogs, I'm a pro at easing into playtime with smallish pups. With a little patience, even all the other size dogs will become part of my fan club! Looking for a family companion? Look no further! I'm as cuddly as a warm beach towel on a sunny day. Now, I may have the bark of a big boy, but trust me, it's all bark and no bite! Well, unless you count my irresistible charm. Ideal for a home with kids who know their way around a pooch, I'm ready to be the furry rockstar of your household! Apply now, because this hunk of burning love won't be available for long!
