Story
Her name is Beba, and she is a sweet dog who deserves another chance. I got her when my sister was incarcerated, as Beba was originally her dog. Unfortunately, Beba has a history of being abused and was bitten by larger dogs, which has affected her trust and behavior. With patience and love, I was able to crate train her and help her overcome food aggression. I truly believe Beba can be an amazing dog with the right person and environment. She has experienced difficult situations and has not always had the care and stability she needed. She was returned to my sister after she was released, but since then Beba has started showing signs of aggression again and does not do well with other dogs. My sister recently got a new puppy, and Beba is not adjusting well to sharing her space. We are desperately looking for a new home for Beba where someone can give her the patience, structure, and love she needs. She still has so much potential and deserves the chance to be loved.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Mae Pearl!A little dachshund with a big name.  Mae Pearl came to Pet Rescue by Judy when her family had to move and could not bring her with them.  She is a VERY energetic and quick pup that will definitely need a FENCED yard.  At this time we are recommending a home with low traffic due to the possibilty of her getting out of a house and running.  She is a sweet and cuddly pup, but if she sees the door is open she literally tries to dash for it.She loves people, other dogs and cats. However, she does have lots of energy and another active dog her size would be her ideal companion. Essential precautions for dachshund owners include: Prevent Jumping/Stairs: Never let your dachshund jump on or off furniture. Use ramps to allow access to beds and couches safely. Block stair access using baby gates to avoid using stairs.  Proper Holding Technique: Never pick a dachshund up by front legs or armpits. Support their back with one hand and chest with other, keeping spine completely level.  Maintain a Lean Weight: Extra weight causes severe stress on their back, greatly increasing risk of spinal emergencies.  Use a Harness: Always use a Dachshund IVDD type harness instead of a collar. Collars put strain on their neck and throat; harnesses distribute pressure evenly across chest.  Provide Traction: Slippery hard floors cause sliding and straining backs. Place area rugs or yoga mats in main areas for a firm grip.  Monitor Chewing: They are prone to scavenging. Secure trash cans and keep small items out of reach to avoid choking or intestinal blockages.  Regular Health & Dental Care: Because of unique skulls, they are prone to dental issues. Check and brush their teeth regularly. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.July 6, 2026, 12:51 pm

Story
***Local adoption only: Fiona needs to be adopted by a family in the Central Florida region (Orlando area) who will commit to taking her to follow-up vaccinations and spay (at the appropriate time) with PPR's vetting partner.  The cost for these is covered in the adoption donation.*** Hello! My name is Fiona and I am a Chi-weenie (Chihuahua Dachshund) blend girl.  I am 11 WEEKS old, and I weigh 4.6 lbs.  Just like Princess Fiona in the movie Shrek, I am fierce, spicy and like to be the leader.    I am all puppy with my enthusiastic “wiggle-butt”, playful nature and adventurous ways.  I would love to find my “fur”ever home with a human who can teach me about this great big world.  I promise not to be an ogre, and my huge personality and dramatic ways should provide hours of laughter and entertainment.     Favorite Things: Toys are Fiona’s first love, and she simply cannot get enough of them.  She also loves to play with her brother Felix (they are currently being fostered in the same home).  At night, they turn into little gremlins and love to wrestle, play and do zoomies.  She also loves to give kisses. She is in her “puppy chewing” phase, so must be supervised or kept in a secure area.  Training & Manners:  Fiona is working on her house training and will need a patient owner who can provide frequent and consistent potty breaks.  She has not been on a leash yet, so will need to learn about that from her owner.  She is accustomed to wearing a collar (a cat collar at present because she is so tiny).  Fiona is food motivated which should lend itself nicely to basic training.  She tolerates a car ride. Health and Care: Fiona is up to date on vaccines, but will require boosters, as well as her spay at the appropriate time.   The cost of these is covered in her adoption donation and they will be scheduled at one of PPR’s vetting partners.  Fiona  should not need any elaborate grooming but will just require nail trims and an occasional bath to make her look and feel her best.  She does have floppy ears, so weekly ear cleaning should be a part of her regular routine. Other Animals:  Fiona is currently in a foster home with larger dogs and her brother Felix (who she loves to play with).  She would do great in a home with another small, playful pup (maybe even Felix?).   Fiona plays quite energetically, which might not suit older, laid-back dogs.  She has not been tested with cats and would need slow introductions to any feline friends.  Please keep in mind that she is a puppy with lots of energy, so not all cats may be excited about that. Children: Fiona has not had experience with children.  Due to her tiny size, she will do best in a home with respectful, older children (8+) who are supervised by the adults in the home.  Ideal Home: Fiona can be quite vocal and tends to cry when left alone.  For this reason, a single-family home would be best. She will need lots of playtime and exercise to work out her puppy energy.  She would do best in a home where someone is home more often than not (especially as she continues to work on potty training).  When home alone, Fiona does fine in a secure area and after a day of play, she is content to dream away in her own secure space. Overall: If you are looking for an affectionate, adventurous girl, Fiona could be the perfect match for you.  With consistent training and gentle guidance, she has all the potential to become a loyal, loving companion. Do you think Fiona could be the one for you?  If so, please visit www.PoodleandPoochRescue.org and submit an adoption application. If it looks like a good fit, her foster family will reach out with more information. Her adoption donation is $550.    ##2718974##

***Local adoption only: Fletch needs to be adopted by a family in the Central Florida region (Orlando area) who will commit to taking him to his follow-up vaccinations and neuter (at the appropriate time) with PPR's vetting partner.  The cost for these is covered in the adoption donation.*** Hello! My name is Fletch and I am a Chihuahua Dachshund blended boy.  I am just 11 WEEKS old and I weight 5.3 lbs. of pure love! I am an extroverted social butterfly who loves to give kisses (puppy breath is the best) and explore my surroundings.  Plus, I am stinking adorable!  Favorite Things: Fletch is “all puppy” and  loves to play and can’t get enough toys in his life.  Training & Manners:  As a young puppy, Fletch has been hard at work on his house training.  He starts each morning doing his “business” outside and is showing great success with potty training when on a regular, consistent schedule.  He is a very smart puppy and comes when you call him.  Fletch has not had experience with leash walking yet, so will need someone willing to work on leash skills, as well as basic manners.  He tolerates a car ride. Health and Care: Fletch is up to date on vaccines, but will require boosters, as well as his neuter at the appropriate time.   The cost of these is covered in his adoption donation and they will be scheduled at one of PPR’s vetting partners.  Fletch should not need any elaborate grooming but will just require nail trims and an occasional bath to make him look and feel his best. Other Animals:  Fletch is currently in a foster home with his sister Felicity and  loves to play with her.  He would do great in a home with another small, playful pup.  He has not been tested with cats, but we think he would be okay with them after a slow introduction. Children: Due to his tiny size, Fletch will do best in a home with respectful, older children (8+) who are supervised by the adults in the home.  Ideal Home: Fletch would do well in a single-family home, apartment or condo.  He will need lots of playtime and exercise to work out his puppy energy.  He would do best in a home where someone is home more often than not (especially as he is learning house training).  When home alone, Fletch does fine in a secure area and after a day of play, he is content to dream away in his own secure space. Overall: If you are looking for an affectionate, adventurous and clever boy, Fletch could be the perfect match for you.  With consistent training and gentle guidance, he has all the potential to become a loyal, loving companion.
