Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Mae Pearl!A little dachshund with a big name.  Mae Pearl came to Pet Rescue by Judy when her family had to move and could not bring her with them.  She is a VERY energetic and quick pup that will definitely need a FENCED yard.  At this time we are recommending a home with low traffic due to the possibilty of her getting out of a house and running.  She is a sweet and cuddly pup, but if she sees the door is open she literally tries to dash for it.She loves people, other dogs and cats. However, she does have lots of energy and another active dog her size would be her ideal companion. Essential precautions for dachshund owners include: Prevent Jumping/Stairs: Never let your dachshund jump on or off furniture. Use ramps to allow access to beds and couches safely. Block stair access using baby gates to avoid using stairs.  Proper Holding Technique: Never pick a dachshund up by front legs or armpits. Support their back with one hand and chest with other, keeping spine completely level.  Maintain a Lean Weight: Extra weight causes severe stress on their back, greatly increasing risk of spinal emergencies.  Use a Harness: Always use a Dachshund IVDD type harness instead of a collar. Collars put strain on their neck and throat; harnesses distribute pressure evenly across chest.  Provide Traction: Slippery hard floors cause sliding and straining backs. Place area rugs or yoga mats in main areas for a firm grip.  Monitor Chewing: They are prone to scavenging. Secure trash cans and keep small items out of reach to avoid choking or intestinal blockages.  Regular Health & Dental Care: Because of unique skulls, they are prone to dental issues. Check and brush their teeth regularly. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.July 4, 2026, 2:06 pm

Story
Her name is Beba, and she is a sweet dog who deserves another chance. I got her when my sister was incarcerated, as Beba was originally her dog. Unfortunately, Beba has a history of being abused and was bitten by larger dogs, which has affected her trust and behavior. With patience and love, I was able to crate train her and help her overcome food aggression. I truly believe Beba can be an amazing dog with the right person and environment. She has experienced difficult situations and has not always had the care and stability she needed. She was returned to my sister after she was released, but since then Beba has started showing signs of aggression again and does not do well with other dogs. My sister recently got a new puppy, and Beba is not adjusting well to sharing her space. We are desperately looking for a new home for Beba where someone can give her the patience, structure, and love she needs. She still has so much potential and deserves the chance to be loved.

Story
Scooby is a 5 year old Dachshund Bully mix weighing approximately 35 pounds. He was surrendered when his owner lost her job and was forced to move in with relatives. You can see the sadness in his eyes ☹. He is very timid and laid back, complacent and mellow. Needless to say, he is very depressed and won’t even eat (not even treats). His adoption donation is $250 which includes his neuter, vaccinations, microchip. He is heartworm negative and on monthly prevention. Please help him to feel loved again. https://www.aforeverhomeanimalrescue.org/store/p169/Scooby_Doo.html

Story
Meet Marlon! At just 1 year old, Marlon is a fun-loving little guy with a huge personality packed into a tiny body! If you’re looking for a loyal sidekick who wants to be involved in everything you do, Marlon may be your perfect match. Marlon absolutely loves to play—especially a good game of tug-of-war! He has plenty of youthful energy but settles down nicely after playtime and is happiest curled up close to his favorite person. Once he trusts you, he becomes a true Velcro dog who wants nothing more than to love and be loved. He is fully house-trained and has lived with children in his previous home. Marlon can be a little shy and vocal when meeting new people, so he does best with slow introductions and a little patience. Give him time to warm up, and you’ll quickly see his sweet, affectionate side shine through. Marlon would do best in a home without cats. He isn’t aggressive toward them, but he is very persistent about wanting to play and simply doesn’t understand when feline friends want some personal space. For everyone’s sanity—including the cats’ nap schedules—we think a cat-free home is the best fit. If you’re looking for a playful, devoted companion who will happily be your shadow and your best friend, Marlon is ready to meet you!    If interested email handjkittenrescue@gmail.com ##2745359##

Story
***Local adoption only: Farrah needs to be adopted by a family in the Central Florida region (Orlando area) who will commit to taking her to her spay and follow-up vaccinations with PPR's vetting partner.  The cost for these is covered in the adoption donation.*** Hello! My name is Farrah and I am a Chi-Weenie (Chihuahua Dachshund) girl.  I am just 11 WEEKS old and weigh 4.8 lbs.  It has been said that “Good things come in small packages” and I am proof of that!  I am a typical puppy with LOTS of energy.  Plus, I am adorable!  I am looking for my “fur”ever home where I can learn all about life with someone who is willing to teach me, be patient with me and love me.  Favorite Things: Farrah is an adventurous and playful puppy who greatly enjoys exploring in her foster’s fenced yard.  She also loves car rides and TOYS, toys, and more toys!  As with most puppies, Farrah will need to be redirected when chewing on anything other than her toys. Training & Manners:  As a young puppy, Farrah is working on her house training and will need frequent and consistent potty breaks.  She is working on her basic manners and walking on a leash.  She is very curious and will need supervision while she explores and learns more about her surroundings. Health and Care: Farrah is up to date on vaccines, but will require boosters, as well as her spay.  The cost of these is covered in her adoption donation and they will be scheduled at one of PPR’s vetting partners.  Farrah has a beautiful coat (like Farrah Fawcett) and we do not anticipate she will need extensive grooming.  Likely, just nail trims and occasional baths will keep this gal looking and feeling her best. Other Animals:  Farrah has experience with small dogs and would love to be in a home with another small, playful pup.  She has not been tested with cats, but we think she would be okay with them after a slow introduction. Children: Because Farrah is such a tiny puppy, she will do best in a home with respectful, older children (8+) who are supervised by the adults in the home.  Ideal Home: Farrah isn’t choosy and would do well in a single-family home, apartment or condo.  As long as this energetic pup gets lots of exercise, she will be a happy camper.  She would do best in a home where someone is home more often than not (especially as she continues to work on her potty training).  When home alone, Farrah does fine in a secure area and after a day of play, she is content to curl up in her dog bed.  Overall: If you are looking for an affectionate, athletic, loving puppy, Farrah just might be the one for you.  With consistent training and gentle guidance, she has all the potential to become a loyal, loving companion. Do you think Farrah could be the one for you?  If so, please visit www.PoodleandPoochRescue.org and submit an adoption application. If it looks like a good fit, her foster family will reach out with more information. Farrah’s adoption donation is $550.    ##2718973##
