Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet little Twitch, an almost 4 year old, 9 lb dachshund / chihuahua mix (best guess). He absolutely loves his people and is happy to be wherever you are! He is dog friendly and is currently fostered with another dog, but isn’t very interested in play with his foster sibling. Though he hasn’t been cat tested, he has seen cats on his walks and has not reacted, so we suspect he may be fine with a cat sibling.    Twitch is leash trained, crate trained, and potty pad trained, but he is working on being outdoor potty trained! He does great in the car and was a staff favorite at the vet. His favorite pastime is snuggling with his foster mom! He’s a very affectionate boy and LOVES attention. He is very food motivated and prefers to be left alone while chowing down.  He can become protective of high value treats or toys and for that reason will do best in a no children home.  If you allow him, he will happily join you on the couch and affectionately lick you at the end of a long work day. He has a gorgeous coat and has been tolerant to brushing. He recently had a teeth cleaning and is now donning sparkly white teeth!   Twitch’s adoption donation is $210 and will include neuter, microchip and age appropriate vaccines. Please follow the link below to submit an application:  https://bit.ly/3GDey  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 25, 2024, 12:23 am

Story
Meet Sweet Pete! This 1-year-old Dachshund-Miniature Pincher blend weighs 9 lbs. Sweet Pete is a young guy with tons of puppy energy and is always on the go! General Behavior: Sweet Pete, or Petey, as his friends call him, is a friendly boy! He is quite exuberant when meeting new people and other dogs. As active as he is, when his energy runs out, Sweet Pete likes nothing more than to sleep on his person's lap or as close to that person as possible. He's a little lovebug and will stare at you with his dark, expressive eyes, melting your heart. Likes & Dislikes: Sweet Pete loves going for walks, running around in the backyard, rooting through the toy box to see what catches his interest, and playing with other dogs. Training: This young guy is working hard on his training skills. He's learning to walk on the leash but does get excited, which sometimes causes him to bark at other dogs while on his walk. He is doing very well with housetraining when kept on a regular schedule and let out frequently. He likes treats, which will help with training as he learns the ropes in his forever home. He already knows how to sit! Medical: Petey is a healthy boy and just requires his monthly heartworm and flea preventative. Other Animals: Sweet Pete interacts well with other playful pups! He has not yet been introduced to any cats. Children: Pete would do well with kids 10+ who understand doggie boundaries.  Home: This active pooch will require a single-family home without directly connected neighbors. When he hears noises outside, Pete sometimes runs to the window to bark, and we wouldn't want him bothering anyone. As a young guy with lots of energy, he will need a fenced-in backyard and a family that can commit to providing him with daily walks and exercise. Grooming: Sweet Pete has a soft, glossy coat so won’t need grooming beyond baths. Overall: Sweet Pete is a fun guy with so much love to give to a dog-loving family! Are you the one for Sweet Pete? Visit our website www.PoodleandPoochRescue.org where you will find the application to adopt. You’ll be put in contact with his foster family if it’s a potential match. He is up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, microchipped, and neutered. His adoption donation is $450. ##1981027##

Story
We got Levi when he was just 8 weeks old. He’s such a sweetheart. He loves attention from anyone who will give it to him. He has gotten grumpy with his old age though. He does good with dogs for the most part, he’s scared of big dogs and loves little dogs. However, he has started to get aggressive with our other dog over the last couple of years. He is 10 years old and we would love for him to see out his last few years with someone who can love him more than us right now and provide him with the attention he needs. He does very well with kids and has never tried to bite either of ours.
