Story
Meet Lil Andy This handsome little guy, Lil Andy, is adorable. He is a short-legged pupper, with a big, sweet personality. Lil Andy has a wrinkly forehead that showcases his uncertainty about where he is in life. We rescued Lil Andy from a high-kill shelter. He was in mortal danger due to overcrowding. His caregivers at that kill shelter loved him though and brought him to our attention. We took one look and knew he was going to be a gem, well that and the intel they gave us. Lol! Lil Andy has been taken under the wing of one of our uber volunteers. She spends time with him and takes him hiking. She says he is amazing. He loves the car and jumps right in. At first, he was overwhelmed by new sights and sounds. He quietly hid behind his human until reassured it was safe to come out. Every day he grows in bravery though and every day he finds his footing (so to speak). Lil Andy is easy-going around people. He’s cautious around dogs, but as his confidence grows, so may his approach to his fellow canines. We’ve tested Lil Andy with cats, and he LIKES them! Lil Andy is a petite guy. He’s nearly two years old, weighs 27 lbs. He walks easily and happily on a leash. He’s easy to pick up and carry, if need be. Lil Andy usually wears a big smile, and he has bright earnest eyes. He is super sweet, affectionate, friendly and gentle. Lil Andy is going to make for a wonderful companion. He’s a terrific little dog and will bring lots of love to your heart and home. If interested in welcoming Lil Andy to your life and family, please submit a dog application found online at www.charlessmithgallhumanesociety.org Please call our shelter at 706-865-4135 or email us (smithgallhumanesociety@windstream.net) to make sure we received your application. All adopters must complete an approval process which involves a reference check with current/recent vet and a brief home visit if located in the immediate area. We do permit out of state adoptions. Adopters MUST come to the shelter to transport their new family member home. We do not ship, nor do we transport them to their new homes. Adoption policies and application procedures are detailed at the shelter website. Charles Smithgall Humane Society (CSHS) is a No Kill shelter. Animals in our care remain safe with us until adopted. Resident animals are either owner relinquished rescued from area Animal Controls or high kill shelters. The facility usually operates at capacity with a list of animals waiting for space to open.

Story
Honey is a 2.5-month-old female tan and white Standard Smooth Haired Dachshund mix weighing approximately 10.7 pounds. She is a young playful puppy who also likes her downtime. Honey does enjoy being held and cuddled. She also gets along with other dogs. Training-wise she will need to learn to walk on a leash since she is so young. Honey is food-motivated and this should help with any training. If you'd like to give Honey a home please complete an online application or call the Humane Society at 770-887-6480. Our adoption hours are Tuesday through Thursday 11-5 and Friday and Saturday 1-5. Please come by and say hi to Honey!

Story
Meet Tan, a young, sweet soul who exudes a mellow vibe that can calm even the most chaotic day. Tan has a sense of humor that's subtle but unmistakable. He'll often surprise you with his antics, like the time he gently placed his favorite toy on your lap, then backed away, waiting for you to throw it. His shyness is endearing, a gentle reminder of his tender age. Tan's personality is an amalgamation of sweetness, calmness, humor, and a dash of shyness. He is the perfect companion for someone who appreciates these qualities and is looking for a loyal friend. Tan deserves a loving home where he can continue to bring joy and warmth. Adopt Tan, and let his sweet spirit brighten your life. Tan weighs 17lbs., is approximately 1 years old (est. birth date 03/08/2023), and his adoption fee is $305. Tan has been neutered, is up to date on all vaccinations & preventatives, and is microchipped. If you want to know more about Tan, please complete a survey at https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/FKDS/Dog. Meeting our dogs is by appointment only. Story
Hiya world! I'm Pascal Pete, though foster mommy calls me Petey. I'm a 11 month old, dachsund terrier mix full of love, and a cheeky, playful attitude. I'm dog friendly, always up for making friends. I'm always excited to meet new people and give a kiss and a cuddle. I love playing with my toys and chewing on my chew bones. I'm working on potty training and using the pee pee pads, but it's hard for a little puppy!    I'm medium energy, so a family/pet parent who will take me on walks and play with me is what I'm hoping for. Overall, I'm just a sweetie pie with a lot of joy to share. Story
Hello future family! I am a confident and friendly little pup, eager to bring a little more joy and cuteness to your life. I am nearly one-year old and weigh about 15 pounds. I have thrived in my foster home since Day 1.  I adore humans, wagging my tail furiously to befriend them right away. I like other dogs too (experience with cats unknown). I cuddle up to the big dog in my foster home, but I am pretty good at leaving alone dogs that prefer their space. I am great company. I’ll follow you around the house while you take care of human tasks, nap close by while you do desk work, sniff around outside when you are in the yard, and ride nicely in the car when you run errands. I don’t bark much for a little guy.  If you can’t tell, it is tough to come up with my shortcomings. Let’s see, I pull a bit on the leash, though it may be hard to tell given my 15 pounds. I have occasionally had an accident in my foster home when not let out frequently enough, but generally I am house trained. I fuss a bit when I first go in the crate at night, but quiet down quickly and sleep quietly until morning.  My main criterion for a perfect forever home is lots of time and love from my people. I would be happy to live in a house or an apartment. A fenced yard is nice, but not necessary as long as I get plenty of walks. I would be happy living with other dogs, but also not a requirement. And in my dream home, my humans would be home with me a lot and I would sleep cuddled up with them at night (I take up hardly any room at all).  An Adoption Application for this dog can be found and submitted online. http://www.angelsrescue.org/adopt/adoption-forms  Please be sure to like our Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/angelsrescue.  Email inquiry@angelsrescue.org  Note: Some apartments and neighborhoods have breed restrictions.
