Story
Ellie Mae was born April 5, 2020. She grew up with a dog brother (who sadly passed away) and a cat sister, Moe. Ellie is a calm girl who loves sleeping, treats, and occasionally getting the zoomies when she’s excited. I rescued Ellie when she was about 6 months old from a very abusive situation where she had been beaten and starved. I’ve spent years giving her love and stability, but she is still a very timid dog who needs a patient, experienced owner. When she gets scared or anxious, she may have accidents. Ellie would do best in a quiet home with a yard or open space to use the bathroom and would thrive as an only dog or in a small household. She is not suited for apartment living. I am rehoming Ellie because I travel frequently for the military and have recently been re stationed out the country & Ellie cannot come with me.. regardless, she needs & deserves a more stable environment. My goal is to find her a stable, loving home where she can feel safe & prioritized.

Story
Meet Archie Little Archie has the sweetest eyes and cutest ears! Archie and his brother Tucker (Tucker is pending adoption) were surrendered when their family lost their home. Sadly, their precious mom had been run over and the boys were living outside. We gladly accepted the siblings into our no-kill shelter. They were cleaned up, fed and whisked off to foster care. Archie is back in the shelter. He's doing great. He's seven months old now. We think he could be a dachshund/beagle mix but who knows? We just know he's adorable. Archie is ball of high energy and puppy crazy. He loves playing with other pups. Archie is sweet, silly, outgoing and friendly. A fenced yard will be a must. His mom was small to medium size and Archie looks to take after her. He is absolutely adorable and ready to find his forever home. If looking for a terrific puppy, get your application in. If interested in welcoming Archie to your heart and home, please submit an application online at: www.charlessmithgallhumanesociety.org. Once you’re on our home page, you can click on “How To Adopt” to pull up the dog application form. Please email our shelter (smithgallhumanesociety@windstream.net) to make sure we received your application. All adopters must complete an approval process which involves a reference check with current/recent vet and a brief home visit if located in the immediate area. We do permit out-of-state adoptions. Adopters MUST come to the shelter to transport their new family member home. We do not ship, nor do we transport them to their new homes. Adoption policies and application procedures are detailed at the shelter website: http://charlessmithgallhumanesociety.org/ under tab All Adoptable Animals. Charles Smithgall Humane Society (CSHS) is a No kill shelter. Animals in our care remain safe with us until adopted. Resident animals are either owner relinquished rescued from area Animal Controls or high kill shelters. The facility usually operates at capacity with a list of animals waiting for space to open.
