Joey is the friendliest little greeter.  He never meets a stranger.  He is crate trained and working on fine tuning his house training.  He LOVES to go for walks.  He maybe 10, but shhhh dont tell him, he thinks he is 5.  He loves to burrow under blankets and keep your lap warm.  You can't ask for a better companion.  He gets along great with other dogs. *Joey is Bonded with his fur sister, Maggie.  They have a special bond and have been together for over 5 years.  They would love a home together.* Apply for consideration to adopt at www.ruffdogrescue.org  Please note, we receive a large number of applications. Story
12/30/25 I'm so sad no one has asked about me. I'm really a good boy. I don't know why I'm not good with men. When Act2Pups rescued me from an outside cage during the winter I guess it was a man that left me outside. I listen well and I do what I'm told. I'm a pleaser for sure and I would just love to please Y.O.U. I've been here before...yes three years ago I was adopted and I thoroughly enjoyed my person. Unfortunately she fell and broke her hip and couldn't take care of me any more. I'm not terribly sad, but I do miss having a person of my own. I prefer females, apparently men have not been nice to me in the past. If you know my breed you know I'm pretty strong headed. I get along with all my housemates, both girls and boys. I like to take walks, I walk pretty well on a leash. I love meal time, so be careful I don't get too large! I'm ready for that forever home....calling all dachshund lovers!

Story
Pheobie Haven & Maxus Haven   Breed: Mixed Weight: Just under 40 lbs each Age: Senior Bonded Pair - Would Love to Be Adopted Together Best as Only Dogs   Meet Pheobie Haven and Maxus Haven, a devoted duo who’ve been together their entire lives. For years, they knew love and stability until their adopter moved across the country and left them behind in poor care. By the time they were rescued, they were heartbreakingly underweight and neglected.   With good nutrition, medical care, and kindness, Pheobie and Maxus have made a beautiful recovery. They’re now healthy, happy, and medically cleared, ready to enjoy their golden years in comfort and love.   Both are just under 40 pounds  - the perfect medium size for cuddles and companionship. They have gentle, affectionate personalities and a deep bond with one another. After all they’ve been through, they truly deserve to spend the rest of their lives together in peace and safety.   Pheobie and Maxus would do best as the only dogs in the home, where they can soak up all the love and attention they’ve missed. They’re calm, loyal, and grateful - the kind of dogs who will make your heart feel full every single day.    Adopt Pheobie Haven & Maxus Haven - two hearts, one unbreakable bond.  An Adoption Application for this dog can be found and submitted online. http://www.angelsrescue.org/adopt/adoption-forms  Please be sure to like our Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/angelsrescue.  Email inquiry@angelsrescue.org  Note: Some apartments and neighborhoods have breed restrictions.
