She loves running around with toys in her mouth especially if she can steal them from the dryer. Oh, and she’ll help you pull stuff out of the dryer but she won’t help you fold them, that’s up to you but she’s off with a sock or anything she can get her mouth on and then the chase is on. It’s hard to believe that she is a retired breeder dog as friendly as she is but understand she will still need help with housebreaking and learning to walk on a leash. If you have the patience and want to add some spice into your life then she would be perfect for you! Our must haves for Rudy are: A fenced in yard Someone that can be home more than not Another small adult playful dog that doesn’t mind her stealing their toys No apartments, high rises or condos If you are interested in giving Rudy her last home than it’s important that you fill out the online adoption application right away because she won’t last long we can promise you that, oh and she loves attention and is a bit of an attention hog. ============== Information for All Dogs/Adopters ============== AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund’s back or get bitten. If you have questions about this dog, please feel free to contact the foster home at the email address listed on the bio form. They have the most up-to-date information concerning the dog and would be happy to answer any questions about the animal. There will be an additional $60 fee added for a required Health Certificate if traveling out of the state in which they are being fostered. We will not adopt into CT, RI, NH, ME, or MA due to strict laws regarding importation of dogs into those states. If you have any issue with this, you will need to take this up with your legislatures. To understand the adoption process through AADR, please review the Adoption Information on our home page. Transportation options are outlined on that page in Step 3. Click this link to apply: https://www.allamericandachshundrescue.org/apply, it will take you to the application form. Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers who will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast or Midwest. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. Please look for dogs on your coast.

Story
12/30/25 I'm so sad no one has asked about me. I'm really a good boy. I don't know why I'm not good with men. When Act2Pups rescued me from an outside cage during the winter I guess it was a man that left me outside. I listen well and I do what I'm told. I'm a pleaser for sure and I would just love to please Y.O.U. I've been here before...yes three years ago I was adopted and I thoroughly enjoyed my person. Unfortunately she fell and broke her hip and couldn't take care of me any more. I'm not terribly sad, but I do miss having a person of my own. I prefer females, apparently men have not been nice to me in the past. If you know my breed you know I'm pretty strong headed. I get along with all my housemates, both girls and boys. I like to take walks, I walk pretty well on a leash. I love meal time, so be careful I don't get too large! I'm ready for that forever home....calling all dachshund lovers!

Story
Meet Florrie, a lovable 8 year old Dachshund, gentle and easy going companion with a heart full of sweetness. With a calm and affectionate personality, this pup is the perfect match for someone looking for a relaxed and loyal friend. Fully potty trained and crate trained, Florrie has excellent house manners and adapts well to a structured routine. Meal and snack time are always a highlight - this little one has a great appetite and never missed a chance to enjoy a good meal. Outdoors, she loves to take her time exploring the world through scent, happily wandering around the yard and sniffing everything in sight. While she enjoys getting outside, she prefers short, leisurely walks rather than long, strenuous outings. One of her most endearing qualities is her passive and peaceful nature around other dogs. She tends to be calm, non-confrontational, and easy to get along with, making her a great addition to a multi-pet household or a quiet home. If you are looking for a sweet, low key companion, who enjoys the simple things in life, this Dachshund lady could be the perfect fit. Thank you for your interest in one of our Hero Babies! Before inquiring, we thought it was important to share a few of our policies. Your Current Pets - We do require that your current dogs and cats are current on vaccines and spayed/neutered. Adoptions - We do not have a shelter and are a foster-home based organization. We do require that you have an approved adoption application to schedule a meet and greet. You can fill out an adoption application on our website, www.herorescue.org/adopt. Once your application is approved it will be sent to the foster family that is currently caring for the dog. They will be able to provide information on likes, dislikes, personality, etc. They will also schedule a time for you to meet the dog. We do require a home visit prior to adoption. Inquiries - If you would like more information on any dogs in the rescue, please email us at info@herorescue.org.

Bonded Pair Looking for a Forever Home: Pheobie Haven & Maxus Haven ADOPTION FEE FOR MAXUS AND PHEOBIE - SPONSORED BY A GENEROUS DONOR - IN LOVING MEMORY OF HIS SWEET DOGS    Meet Pheobie Haven and Maxus Haven - a sweet senior duo searching for a loving home where they can stay together forever.   Pheobie Haven is an 11.5 year old American Bulldog mix with a beautiful blonde coat and a gentle, soulful personality. At just under 40 pounds, she’s the perfect medium size and loves being close to her people. Pheobie is calm, affectionate, and happiest when she’s relaxing nearby or enjoying a peaceful stroll.   Maxus Haven is a 13.5 year old Basset Hound mix weighing about the same as Pheobie. He’s a laid-back, loyal companion with a sweet nature and an easygoing spirit. Maxus enjoys cozy naps, soft beds, and simply being part of the family.   These two are deeply bonded and take comfort in each other’s presence. They are past the puppy stage and bring all the wonderful qualities of senior dogs - calm energy, loving hearts, and grateful companionship. They would do best as the only dogs in the home and would thrive with older, respectful children who understand their gentle senior nature.   Pheobie and Maxus are looking for a quieter home where they can enjoy their golden years surrounded by kindness, comfort, and stability.   Adopt love. Adopt Pheobie Haven & Maxus Haven.   An Adoption Application for this dog can be found and submitted online. http://www.angelsrescue.org/adopt/adoption-forms  Please be sure to like our Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/angelsrescue.  Email inquiry@angelsrescue.org  Note: Some apartments and neighborhoods have breed restrictions.
