Story
From a young puppy, Bourbon takes pride in his agility and aspiration to be a skillful flight of height. In reality, taking Bourbon over from his family home has taken a reassertion of boundaries. He is very smart, and is quick to catch on. Now, Bourbon prides in sitting handsomely, long bushy tail wagging, before exiting a doorway, when he wants pets or as he waits for his slow feeder to be full. - Crate trained- Quick to be okay with seperation anxiety- Redirects to toys/balls very quickly- Patient, yet eagerFinal straw: Bourban is NOT fixed. He requires an additional surgery to untuck his testicles from his body.He is a great dog, short, fast, heavy. Is fantastic and has always been around children. He has a short learning curve with new dogs.Four years ago, my grandmothers dog procreated with our neighbor’s dog. This has lead to a journey of syndication with the human behind who helped carry these puppies, to the family that raised Bourbon for his whole life.

Story
Sleepy started life as a beloved puppy, but somewhere along the way, her story took a hard turn. She was recently found wandering the streets of Florida, thin and covered in fleas and ticks, clearly having been on her own for far too long. Despite everything she's been through, this girl has not lost a single ounce of sweetness. Sleepy is gentle, calm, and kind - the kind of dog who makes you forget she ever had a hard day in her life. She walks beautifully on leash and gets along well with other dogs, making her a wonderful fit for a variety of homes. At 29 pounds, she's the perfect medium-sized companion, just needing a little extra love and some good meals to get her back to her best self. If you've been looking for a sweet, easygoing girl to share your home with, Sleepy just might be the one. Sleepy is 6.5 yrs. old (est. birth date 12/04/2019) and her adoption fee is $315. If you want more information about Sleepy, please submit a survey at https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/FKDS/Dog. At this time, meeting our dogs is by appointment only. After submitting a survey, an adoption counselor will contact you to give you more information about the dog you are interested in adopting and to arrange for you to meet the dog. Must be at least 21 years of age to adopt.

Story
Elise is a sweet 2-year-old, 16lb Dachshund mix with a gentle heart and adorable personality. She can be a little shy at first, but she warms up quickly and becomes a loyal little shadow. Elise loves attention, belly rubs, treats, and car rides. She is dog-friendly and would likely enjoy having a canine companion. She has not been around cats or small children, so introductions should be made thoughtfully. Elise is heartworm positive and currently undergoing treatment. Because of this, we are offering a foster-to-adopt arrangement until her treatment is complete. If you’re looking for a loving, affectionate companion, Elise is ready to meet her forever family. Apply for consideration to adopt at www.ruffdogrescue.org  Please note, we receive a large number of applications. We appreciate your patience as we complete our review processes. A personal interview, reference checks, meet and greet with pet, home visit and a solid vet history are required for adoption.  Ruff Dog Rescue—Turning RUFF Starts into New Beginnings.  ##2776654##

Story
Morty is a senior Dachshund mix with a heart full of love and a strong desire to be wherever his people are. At around 10+ years old and 16 lbs, he’s the definition of a Velcro dog: if you’re home, Morty will be right by your side, in your lap, or snuggled under a blanket near you. Morty is mostly potty trained and does a great job letting you know when he needs to go outside. He walks nicely on a harness and enjoys spending time with other small dogs and cats. While he can coexist with larger dogs, he seems most comfortable around dogs his own size. Like many long-backed breeds, Morty will need ramps or stairs to help protect his back and should not be jumping on and off furniture. He’s also not a good off-leash candidate because once he decides to go exploring, he’s not likely to come back when called! Morty is a sweet, affectionate boy who thrives on attention and companionship. He can be a little anxious when he can’t be near his people and may whine or bark to let you know he’d rather be included. Because of this, he’ll do best with a family that understands his clingy nature and will shower him with the love he craves. For his age, Morty is in great health. He recently had a dental procedure and only has a few teeth remaining, so he does best eating soft food. The good news? He’s very food motivated and always excited for mealtime. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will happily spend his days cuddled up next to you, Morty may be your perfect match! To adopt him, please apply on www.orphanannierescue.org His adoption fee is $350, which includes his shots up-to-date, microchipping, neuter, heartworm testing, and dental cleaning.

Story
Hi there! My name is Littleman,I am a mature, small sized standard dachshund type dog whose age was estimated at 6 years old. I am a calm and loving guy who is looking for a family who will let me lay by them all day. I am potty trained and seem to not mind chickens, but I do not prefer having other four-legged housemates like other dogs and cats. I play well with other dogs, but I would like my human to only have eyes for me. I came to the shelter in early June. I hope you will come by soon and she how amazing I am. I promise you won't be disappointed. Weight: 25 lbs Primary Color: Brown Secondary Color: White Weight: 24.8 Age: 6yrs 2mths 1wks

Story
Where's all the Dachshund lovers....I'm a gem. I listen, I'm a cuddlier, and I'm quiet. I prefer woman. My past was not a happy experience with men. My newest photo is me and my pal, Cleo. 12/30/25 I'm so sad no one has asked about me. I'm really a good boy. I don't know why I'm not good with men. When Act2Pups rescued me from an outside cage during the winter I guess it was a man that left me outside. I listen well and I do what I'm told. I'm a pleaser for sure and I would just love to please Y.O.U. I've been here before...yes three years ago I was adopted and I thoroughly enjoyed my person. Unfortunately she fell and broke her hip and couldn't take care of me any more. I'm not terribly sad, but I do miss having a person of my own. I prefer females, apparently men have not been nice to me in the past. If you know my breed you know I'm pretty strong headed. I get along with all my housemates, both girls and boys. I like to take walks, I walk pretty well on a leash. I love meal time, so be careful I don't get too large! I'm ready for that forever home....calling all dachshund lovers!
