Story
Sheldon is a four and a half year old mix breed, possibly Yorkie and Dachshund. We started him on a weight management diet ( he's a bit pudgy at 20 lbs). In his heart, Sheldon is a sweet, loving little guy. Regretfully, something in his past, of which we know almost nothing, has made him distrustful and snappish. What we do know of his past, he was surrendered by his owner at three and a half years of age with raw feet and large spots of missing hair on his back from an untreated flea infestation. The fleas are long gone and the hair has grown back, gaining his trust has been another story. After several months in a foster home he has come to adore his foster mom. She is allowed to do just about anything, even baths! For nails he goes to a groomer and really doesn't put up a fuss. He is normally fine with his foster dad, but less trustful and has bit him, nothing horrible, more of a warning. Sheldon gets along OK with the resident dog. He would, however, would probably prefer being an only pet. We know it's a long shot but Sheldon needs a home of his very own. We feel he'd do well with an experienced dog owner, someone who is loving, compassionate and would allow as much time as necessary to gain his trust. Sheldon has been OK with adult visitors. He will bark at them until they sit down, then he'll approach for pets. We do not trust him around children. He's put in a room with a gate when kids visit. When no one is home he's happy in his crate with a special treat. He will bark to alert you if he hears something. Therefore an apartment or condo would not be a suitable living arrangement. Sheldon loves to go outside to chase the squirrels, sniff around for other critters and he likes you to stay out with him. He does not like the rain or the snow. He enjoys being brushed and then rolling around on the floor to mess it all up again. He lives to sit in your lap so you can gently rub his ears. If you think you might be interested in adopting Sheldon, please take the time to fill out an application. Sheldon is up to date on vaccinations, neutered, microchipped & current on heartworm & flea preventatives. Sheldon’s adoption fee is $350. If you are interested in adopting, then please go to heathersfosterdogs.org. Click on Adoption Application. Submit your completed application, which will serve as the basis for a conversation, & you will be contacted. Meetings are by appointment only with a reviewed adoption application. We are located in the south suburbs of Chicago and serve the Chicago metropolitan area. We do not ship dogs.

Story
Hi! I’m Mochi…full of energy - professional lap warmer, part-time kiss distributor, and full-time tiny princess. I may have been a little suspicious of humans when I was first found in a local forest preserve (can you blame me?), but after a couple of days I remembered that people come with belly rubs, snacks, and cozy laps…and now I’m making up for lost time! I’m a petite 7.6-pound, ~1 year old, wire-haired Dachshund mix (or at least that’s my best guess), I take treats like a proper lady, I’m nice to other dogs, and I think every lap was created specifically for me. If you’re looking for a pint-sized best friend who will happily supervise everything you do from your side - I volunteer as tribute! Now…when do we leave for my forever home?

Story
If you are looking for a professional true crime watcher and lap sitter look no further! Since you’re reading this, you’re obviously looking for a new best friend and, hey, so am I! My name is Buddy, and I am an adorable, incredibly affectionate Dachshund who is also a very young 7-ish years old. I would describe myself as medium sized however my current foster Mom thinks I’m a little chonky. I DO love snacks and am very food motivated. She has said that I am very handsome, stunning with loving eyes and love kissing her and giving her all the affection and kisses. I DO enjoy baths and love the attention that I receive on spa days! I have a unique personality, and nothing makes me happier than seeing someone reach for a leash and or lead to take me outside for a walk or just to play and roll in the grass. I am still working on my leash manners and I foresee in time, being able to be more patient and allow you to keep up with me. I have enjoyed roaming in the fenced in yard and smelling the roses, literally. I am happy to load up into the vehicle and go for rides. I love looking out the windows and sight seeing!During the day, while my foster folks are at work, I am happy to lay around my open crate in the same room with my foster sister while we wait for them to come home. I am learning to not jump when we get company or someone comes over due to my excitement and will, with patience, learn to be calmer. I slept in the crate at night a couple of times, but my foster mom got lonely, so I got in bed with her and my foster sister (she is 70 pounds! Talk about chonky!).I do seem to get along well with other dogs and recently went for a nail trim and there were several dogs there to meet and greet, and we all seemed to like each other and get along. The groomer and I bonded instantly, and I do make friends quickly. I am interested in the cat here, where I stay, but she doesn’t like me…you know how uppity some cats can be. I think my ideal human(s) would be either a quiet older person or a retired couple who could devote their time to me. I bond strongly with my special person and am looking for someone who can be home with me, and we can solve true crime shows together. I don’t care for sudden movements or loud noises and will be discerning about new people, so I don’t think that I would like to be around small children. I think that small people and their energy may be overwhelming to me, but I hear that’s typical for pups like me. I am a very smart boy who prefers routine and will alert (bark) when I want to go outside to potty or just get out of the house, of course I know that a treat is coming when I’ve been a “good boy”. So, what do you say? Wanna give it a try? I really need a bestie and someone to watch TV with. Please reach out soon!FOCCAS is a foster based, non-profit rescue in Crossville, TN. Story
💜 Meet Lola 💜 Lola is looking for a second chance at the forever home she deserves. This sweet girl was sadly abandoned by her owner and eventually found her way to us. Despite everything she’s been through, Lola hasn’t let it dim her spirit. At around 7–8 years old, she still has plenty of life left to live and even surprises us with bursts of puppy-like energy! Lola has done well with dogs but would do best in a home without cats. She’s looking for a family that will love her through her golden years and never leave her wondering where she belongs again. She may be a little older, but her heart is as young as ever. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who still enjoys having fun and making memories, Lola could be your perfect match. 🏡 Let’s find Lola the forever home she’s been waiting for. Lola will come up to date on her vaccinations, spayed, microchipped and her heartworm test is pending She is available through County Line Pet Hospital for adoption or licensed rescue pull. 708-754-2351 Clphadoption@gmail.com
