Story
FOSTERED IN: Chicago, IL 60619 ESTIMATED DOB: 2015 WEIGHT: 21lbs KIDS: Older DOGS: Yes CATS: Some HISTORY: Reese came to us from an animal control facility. She was surrendered because her owner had too many animals. ABOUT: Reese’s foster mom describes her as smart, sweet, adaptable, laid back, and a little stubborn. She enjoys attention, but isn’t demanding of it. Her foster thinks she might get more into snuggling an attention if there were not other animals around. Reese is excellent with the other dogs, she just might be a bit more interested in attention if she didn’t have to wait in line. Reese’s foster said she is a very good girl who adapted to the routine of her foster home very quickly and just goes with the flow. Reese is not very vocal. She doesn’t bark at the neighbors nor whine to get your attention. Reese is not crated when her foster is not home, but she is gated into a certain room of the home. She does just fine until her foster mom returns. Reese will ask to go outside with a little bark and throwing her head back and forth, but if you aren’t speedy enough she will have an accident. She has also used the available pads a few times. In general, she loves to spend time outside on nice days, but absolutely hates the rain. Reese does well on leash and is good in the car. Reese is being fostered with a cat, but she occasionally likes to run and bark at her, so she would do best with confident cats. Reese is being fostered with other small dogs and gets along very well with everyone, although she mostly chooses to keep to herself. She does prefer that they not interfere with her dining experience, but who doesn’t! Unfortunately Reese doesn’t extend the same courtesy to her friend and will happily help herself to their food if they aren’t fast enough. Reese is a sweet girl, but she got overwhelmed at the vet and didn’t want to be monkeyed with too much, so we think a home with older children will be more appropriate for her. When Reese came to us she was on Royal Canin Urinary SO food due to urinary tract infections she had at animal control. Our vet is not certain she needs to remain on this food, but we have opted to leave her on it for the time being so we don’t introduce any urinary issues while she is looking for her forever home. An adopter can discuss the possibility of transitioning her to an over-the-counter urinary care food with their vet. More information on our adoption process and our adoption application can be found at www.luluslockerrescue.org. Reese asks to go outside: https://youtu.be/yW0c7r2ikxM

Story
When we were trying to think of the best way to describe best buds Cheeto and Frito, we kept coming back to telling you that they will bring endless amounts of smiles and happiness into your life. These boys are pure joy, and we jump at every opportunity to hang out with them. Their favorite things in this world are as follows: 1. Attention from anyone. They don't know a single stranger. 2. Food. Food is life. 3. Hanging out together (so they do need to be adopted together!) Their tails never stop wagging. The boys will come over for affection and almost immediately Cheeto will plop over for a belly rub. They can brighten ANY day with their adorable personalities. We haven't observed them around children, but we think if your kiddos are respectful that they would be amazing furbros to them. They seem to be open to being placed with other dogs! We're not sure about kitty friends but can let you know! Frito is mostly white and Cheeto is black/tan. They are both about ten and a half years young and are neutered. They also each had dentals completed! We are working with them to help them lose weight healthily as they are a bit overweight. Cheeto does have a thyroid issue, but he is well-regulated so far! We don't expect his medication to be much more than $30-$50 every 6 months, but it will depend on your vet. We do suggest biannual or annual bloodwork to make sure he continues to stay well-regulated. Come by MHS to meet them. You will fall in love so quickly. Cheeto and Frito make our hearts happy!

Story
Daisy and Donut are 2 yrs old. The perfect age as they are all grown out of the puppy stages. They are both housebroken and just the sweetest lovable dogs. They are current on all vaccinations and preventatives and have been spayed and neutered. Daisy is a little more high energy but not excessive. She is wonderful especially if she has a chewy bone or toy. Not destructive, she just likes something to chew on. Donut is lower energy but still loves to chase a ball and play with his sibling. They both know sit and will shake when asked as well. Leash and kennel trained and will sleep in their kennel 8-9 hours with no problems. They are great dogs and their family does not want to give them up but they have had a coupled unexpected deaths in the family and unforeseen circumstances that make it unfair for these two as far as time and space. Their current family would love for them to go together and the adoption fees can be adjusted accordingly if we can find a spot together for them both. We will consider single applications if we can’t find a home together. Once adopted Daisy and Donut will will travel via private transport (transport cost is $165.00) to a location closest to you.
