Name:  Bella Rae Age:  8 years Gender: Female Breed:  Dachshund / Terrier Mix Weight: 32lbs Dog friendly:  Yes Cat friendly:  Yes Child friendly:  Yes, calm children ages 8+ House trained:  Yes Crate trained:  No, does not use crate, not needed Energy level:  Low Temperament:  Timid, Cautious, Sweet Requirement: Not apartment appropriate Adoption Fee: $275+tax To adopt, go to: www.mendingspirits.org/apply-to-adopt.html From the Foster Family: Bella is an incredibly sweet and gentle 8‑year‑old Dachshund mix who thrives in a calm, steady environment with someone who can give her the companionship she’s used to. She bonds deeply with her person and prefers to spend her days nearby—often lounging on the couch or resting in her bed within sight. Bella adjusts slowly in new places and may need a day or two to feel safe, but once she does, her affectionate, easygoing personality shines. She enjoys other dogs, does wonderfully with cats, and has always been gentle around children, though a quieter home suits her best. Bella loves car rides, walks beautifully on a leash, and would make a wonderful office companion or stay‑at‑home sidekick. She is currently overweight and will benefit from consistent walks, a healthier routine, and someone who can help her transition away from table food. Bella does fine when left alone for short periods, but she is happiest when her person is close and her world feels predictable and secure. From Bella Rae: Hi, I’m Bella Rae. I’m a soft‑hearted girl who loves being near my human and feeling like part of your day. I may hide under a bed or table at first, but once I know I’m safe, I’ll follow you around like your little shadow. I’m not much of a lap dog, but I love being close curled up on the couch or snoozing in my favorite spot while you work or relax. I adore car rides, enjoy gentle play with other dogs, and I’m very proud of how nicely I walk on a leash. I’ve lived with cats and think they make great friends. Loud noises, big changes, and thunderstorms can be scary for me, so I’m hoping for a peaceful home with someone patient and loving. If you’re looking for a loyal, tender‑hearted companion who just wants to be near you and share a calm, cozy life, I would love to be your girl.June 7, 2026, 12:14 pm

Story
Welcome Mutz to CCPAL Rescue. Mutz is a 3-year-old Daug (Dachshund /Pug). He weighs about 12 pounds and is full grown and a nice weight. This dog came from the hoarder or overabundance of dog situation. He has an adorable underbit and has really blossomed at the Rescue. He is a quieter dog and has learned to like to be held. He is definitely a lap companion. He is playful with other dogs and has the sturdy body of the Pug. He would love to be a companion for a person that is retired, partially retired or maybe someone with a household that wants a dog with a lower energy to join in. He would be ok with a smaller condo size yard. He is learning leash manners and getting used to commotion of the Rescue. He hasn’t experienced a lot of different things so he isn’t sure yet but he is really really nice. He is not a big shedding dog. He is fine with nail trims and baths and will make some lucky family a great companion. I would say anyone moderately active would be fine for this dog. He bonds deeply and he warms up with affection nicely. He would be fine with children. We like them to be 8 or older. He is getting vaccinations, neutered and he will be ready for his forever home soon. He is in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get him to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. His adoption fee is 400 and transport is $200. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 or email to ccpalinquiries@gmail.com if you have questions. Story
🍑 Peaches & Cream 🍦 Some dogs arrive at rescue knowing exactly how to be part of a family. Peaches & Cream arrived needing to learn what that even meant. We believe this sweet girl may have spent most, if not all, of her life outdoors before coming to rescue. The world inside a home was completely new to her—things like toys, cozy beds, house rules, and even having people who loved her unconditionally. Since then, Peaches & Cream has absolutely blossomed in her foster home. She has discovered that being loved is pretty wonderful and has become a sweet, talkative little companion who wants to be wherever her people are. If you get up, she's likely getting up too! This girl loves to follow her humans around and happily serve as their loyal shadow. Peaches & Cream can be a little shy when meeting new people, but with patience and kindness, she quickly starts to show her affectionate personality. Having another confident dog in the home helps her feel secure, so she would do best with a canine buddy to show her the ropes. She is great with other dogs and does well with kids. As she's learning how to be an indoor dog, she's still working on potty training and figuring out which items are toys and which are definitely not for chewing. She's making progress every day and just needs a family willing to continue teaching her. When Peaches & Cream first arrived, she had some areas of hair loss that suggested she hadn't had the easiest start in life. With proper care and treatment, her beautiful coat is growing back nicely, and so is her confidence. If you're looking for a gentle, loving companion who will follow you from room to room and reward your patience with endless devotion, Peaches & Cream may be the perfect addition to your family. Local adoption fee is $350(in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $650 (includes transport to your area)

Story
Greetings, Muggles! My name is Sphynxee, but around here they sometimes call me Dobby's long-lost cousin because of my adorable oversized ears. Seriously, if you've ever wanted your very own house elf, I might be the next best thing! My foster family believes I spent most of my life outdoors, so the magical world of living inside a house has been a brand-new adventure. At first, things like couches, crates, and all the strange human routines seemed as mysterious as the Room of Requirement. But I'm a clever witch-in-training and have been learning quickly! I've already mastered my crate, walk beautifully on a leash, and absolutely love exploring every corner of my kingdom. I'm still studying advanced spells like potty training and figuring out which treasures are acceptable chew toys and which ones belong to my humans. Progress, not perfection! One thing is certain: I've fully embraced my inner princess. These days you'll find me proudly strutting through the house, ears bouncing, following my favorite people from room to room to make sure no magical adventures happen without me. I get along wonderfully with dogs of all sizes and am great with kids too. Whether it's joining the pack for playtime or soaking up attention from my humans, I'm happiest when surrounded by friends. When I first arrived, I had some hair loss that made me look a little less magical than I felt, but after treatment my beautiful coat is growing back nicely. Every day I become a little more fabulous—and trust me, I know it. So if you're looking for a sweet, loyal companion with Dobby ears, princess energy, and a heart full of love, wave your wand and say the magic words: "Sphynxee, you're home." 🏰✨🐾 Local adoption fee is $350(in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $650 (includes transport to your area)

Story
Peanut has a big dog personality and if he sees other dogs, he gets super excited, and the yipping sounds scary, but he just wants to play!! He's a nipper and he likes to jump on you out of excitement and although he LOVES kids, he should be in.a home with older kids Peanut is still young, and has plenty of energy to play and run.He has been known to be a runner- He will take off and think, it's a GAME and it will be hard to catch him, so careful at the doors nd fences ;) But smart sweet pup loves kisses and lay on your lap . He walks good on a leash i put 2 one on harness and collar since I don't want him to get loose. (harnesses are too easy to get out of, so a martingale collar is his best collar) He can upset a bigger or smaller dog if they don't have a tolerance for nippiness. In the face kinda of thing he loved to play and he runs super fast lol 😆 they would have to be extra careful that he never gets out of front.Door or takes off he laughing fast 😅 Poor little guy almost got run over on these big streets all alone, and we NEVER want that to happen to him again. So now you know more about the firecracker named Peanut. He is a doll!! ADOPT....DON'T SHOP!! Local adoption fee is $250 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $550 (includes tranport to your area)
