Meet Paige… a spunky 5 year old who is looking for a family to love and snuggle with. Paige was surrendered to us by a woman after she had been abandoned at her house for a year by a sibling. She has been an outside dog and is learning to be housed trained. She has been introduced to numerous dogs at her foster family and has had no trouble adjusting. Her favorite activity is sleeping… either in your lap, or on the back of the couch. When it’s time to go outside… she spins in circles with excitement then quickly runs outside to explore and sniff everything. She has excellent recall and comes back quickly when called if not on a leash. She is happiest when her person is near. Our mama is Snowdrop, and she’s a petite girl around 20–25 lbs. We are sweet, happy, playful little white bundles of joy! We love to “talk” to each other while chasing toys and playing games of get the toy. We give the very best puppy kisses and adore attention. We are great with other dogs, kids, and people of all ages. After a good play session, we turn into total cuddle bugs and love to snuggle right into your arms. Freddy is a high-energy, happy-go-lucky boy who is great with dogs and kids! He loves to do big zoomies in a circle, then race right back to you for cuddles. After a long day of playing fetch—where he happily chases the ball, even if he doesn’t always bring it back—Freddy is more than ready to snuggle in. JINGLE and her siblings were surrendered to PUP because the owner, who lived in a remote area, could not afford the pups and felt she could not find suitable adopters. The mommy dog is a much loved 30# ‘low rider’ with short legs (pictured). A partner organization agreed to pay for her to be spayed if PUP found homes for the puppies. The owner did a good job of socializing the pups and they arrived in good health. They are well socialized, playful and are enjoying the good life. Jingle looks like she is going to be a shortie like her mommy and we expect she will be in the mid-sized dog when she is full grown. We did DNA testing on one little boy from the litter, but the results won’t be in until mid December. Dogs from the area who have DNA testing often have 20 or more breeds and nearly always have some shepherd, husky, cattle dog, and even the largest pooches have a bit of Chihuahua. We strongly suspect Jingle has some Doxi and maybe some cattle dog in this mix. (Rumor has it that there is a male cattle dog on a neighboring ranch.) Jingle is going outside to play and do her business but in the deeply cold weather she doesn't like to stay outside too long. She is getting the hang of house breaking. She is crated for several hours a day and keeps her crate clean. She is not fully house broken but she is making headway. The early months are when puppy learns the social skills needed to be a skilled dog in dealing with other dogs and a good citizen in the human world. Adopters should be committed to getting puppy into lots of new and different human social situations, hearing vacuums, trucks, and rattling garbage cans, meeting people who are clapping, laughing, with hats, tools, bikes and skate boards. AND puppy needs many opportunities to meet and greet dogs of all shapes, sizes and dispositions. Just sharing a home with another dog is not as much doggie socializing as puppy needs. If good canine social skills are not learned and maintained during these early months, it will be very difficult to ever master them. Puppy play dates, trips to the pet store, puppy socialization classes and later, obedience classes are particularly important. If all this doggie time and involvement seems like a good idea, you are up for a puppy! As always, a tired dog is a good dog. Puppy has been vet checked, (she weighed 5.4# on 12-1 and is one of the smallest of the litter) is vaccinated and de-wormed. She will need two additional puppy vaccinations plus rabies at the adopter’s expense. We do place puppies outside the metro area if a firm plan for the alter surgery is in place; we do not ship. Her required alter surgery is covered by the adoption fee if it is done at 6 months at the PUP clinic. We require that she be altered at 6 months. If you are at least 21 years old and everyone in your household is on board with adopting a puppy, CALL 651-645-4370 between 7:00 am and 9:30 pm and we will return your call within 24 hours. We are pretty slow at responding to e-mail. Renters must provide proof that you are allowed to have a puppy. If you currently have a companion dog or cat please be prepared to provide a vet reference prior to adoption if requested.

Meet Rome! Rome is a 7-week-old Dachshund/Terrier mix weighing about 5 pounds, and he’s already mastered the art of being both cuddly and curious. His mom is a 20-pound Dachshund mix, and while dad is unknown, Rome’s sweet personality is undeniable. A true mama’s boy, Rome doesn’t love being alone and would thrive in a home where he can be close to his people. He is incredibly people-oriented and bonds quickly, making him a wonderful candidate for dog sports or simply a loyal, loving companion. Rome’s curious nose is always working, especially when treats are involved! He is very treat-motivated, which will make continued training fun and rewarding. He is already excelling at house training and is off to a great start with his puppy skills. This sweet boy gets along great with other dogs, cats, and kids, making him a fantastic fit for many types of families. She’s adjusting beautifully in her foster home and is ready to find a forever family who will appreciate her playful nature and adventurous spirit. Pearla absolutely loves her toys and is happiest when she has something appropriate to chew on. She’s a curious girl who gets excited about walks, greeting her people when they come home, and exploring new places. She thrives with activity and stimulation, so she would do best in a home that can give her regular opportunities to play, explore, and stay engaged. She’s fully potty trained and does her business outside like a pro. Pearla is also good with children under 12 and shows respectful behavior around cats. She enjoys the company of other dogs and will need to be placed in a home with a canine companion to help her feel secure and supported. Pearla can be a little overwhelmed by loud or chaotic environments and tends to bark at strangers outside the home, but she’s making great progress as she settles in. While she’s still a work in progress on the leash, she’s improving every day and enjoys her outdoor time, especially in a fenced yard where she can move freely. This charming little dog has a lot of love to give and will thrive in a home where she’s included in daily life and given the outlets she needs to stay active and happy. She is a loyal, joyful companion who’s ready to meet her perfect match.
