Story
DOB 12-7-2024 Wolfie is a gorgeous Red and White Long Hair! This beautiful boy loves everyone, likes to play with toys and his friends. He is neutered, heartworm negative and has received a Proheart6 preventative injection, up to date on shots and is now looking for a loving home. His adoption fee is 900.00 The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an online adoption application. You can find a copy of that application here. We sometimes receive a lot of interest on an animal and can't always reply to each email in a timely manner. An application does not obligate you to adopt from us, but it does show that you are serious about the adoption process. Please remember we are all volunteers. After you submit your application please allow a few days for a volunteer to review your application. During this time your vet reference will be checked and a volunteer with determine if it is the best match for you and the animal. Applications are not approved on a first come, first serve basis. We match up the best home for the animal, so even if the pet has other applications, this does not mean he/she will be adopted to that home. Once your application has been approved a volunteer with contact you to set up a phone interview. This is the perfect time for you to ask any questions you have about the adoption process and the animal you are interested in.

Story
Beau bear is a very sweet and caring dog and is 6 years old. He is a mixed breed dachshund, husky, lab. We rescued him in Colorado as a puppy. He loves to run - great to take to the park for walks. He loves to sit at your feet working and really just a good guy. He is very playful, loves to throw socks around with a very soft approach. He loves to cuddle and will also hang out in his crate when he needs some alone time. He is good with other dogs in time to the extent living with another dog. He really is a sweet dog and needs a home that will give him the cuddles he deserves.

Story
Cian 4 months old | Spayed Female | Dachshund Mix | 3.5 kg | 23 cm | Black & Brown   CALGARY FLIGHT OPPORTUNITY — AUGUST 6 A flight volunteer to Calgary, AB is available, arriving on August 6 at 4:10 PM, with space for ONE dog.   Both Rory and Cian are eligible for this flight. The spot will go to whichever pup is matched with an approved Calgary adopter first.   Rescue Story Cian was born after her pregnant mother was rescued from a hoarding situation. She is now ready to leave her difficult beginnings behind and find a loving forever family of her own.   Personality & People Cian is a very friendly, affectionate, and outgoing puppy. She happily approaches both familiar people and strangers, rubbing against them for attention and readily allowing herself to be touched and petted.   She is comfortable with both men and women and can easily be picked up and held. She is so trusting with people that she may even roll over and show her belly to someone she has just met.   Other Dogs Cian is very social with other dogs and will approach both familiar and unfamiliar dogs to say hello and invite them to play.   Despite her small size, she isn’t generally intimidated by larger dogs. However, very high-energy or rough dogs can make her nervous. She prefers playing with dogs closer to her own size or those with a gentler play style.   If another dog challenges or provokes her, Cian tends to avoid the situation rather than engage.   Cats Cian has not yet been observed around cats. Cat testing can be arranged upon request.   Energy Level Cian has a moderate energy level. She enjoys outdoor activities and playtime but settles down nicely and rests afterward.   Walking Cian has not had much experience with leash walking yet and will need continued guidance and training in her new home.   At Home & Other Behaviours Cian does not show food guarding toward either people or other dogs.   She is currently quiet without problematic barking and remains calm in a kennel. She uses both indoor pee pads and outdoor areas for potty breaks.   Because Cian comes from a hoarding background and is accustomed to living around other dogs, her behaviour as the only dog in a home has not yet been observed.   Cian is still a young puppy and will need a family ready to continue her training, socialization, and help her grow into a happy, confident adult dog.   Apply to adopt or foster: https://adoptmekr.org  PLEASE ALSO VISIT OUR FACEBOOK AND INSTAGRAM! Story
A beautiful, unique brindled 6 year old low rider, Addie is a sweet, sensitive, lovable, affectionate, mellow and somewhat shy pup who has had a rocky start. She is now looking for a peaceful and calm place to begin anew with someone who loves her. Addie has good leash manners while harnessed which makes her a pleasure to walk. She is housetrained and will sleep quietly in her own space all night. Addie gets along well with other dogs, but can be a bit timid around new people initially. Once she knows you, it's all tail wags and face licks. Addie finds cats a little too exciting, so no cats for this girl. She rides nicely in the car and hops in and out of the back seat easily. She settles quickly once she knows she's in a safe environment and will give you years of delightful devoted companionship. Addie will do best in a home without young children, but she'd thrive with older kids or adults who appreciate a lovable companion. She will be a wonderful companion with you in your peaceful and predictable home. Be sure to complete an application on line and come to our Meet & Greet Saturday 11:30-1:30. If you are interested in this dog, please submit an application directly to our website at www.ny-petrescue.org. Only applications submitted directly to Petrescue will be considered.
