It breaks our hearts to write this, but we are looking to rehome our very loved 5-year-old dachshund due to family health reasons. She is fully potty trained, well-mannered indoors, and has been a cherished part of our family. Unfortunately, after welcoming our newborn, our baby developed allergies, and with another baby on the way, we’ve had to make this incredibly difficult decision for everyone’s well-being. She does have a moderate skin condition that is manageable with routine care and attention. She is otherwise healthy and happy. Personality-wise, she is sweet, loyal, and very attached to her people. She would thrive in a calm home where she can receive plenty of love and attention. This decision comes purely out of love and responsibility. We are looking for a family or individual who will treat him as a true family member and give him the life he deserves.

Because of her past, she is understandably very shy at first and needs a patient, experienced home that will give her the time and space she needs to feel safe. Star tends to bond more quickly with women, and once she trusts you, she is incredibly gentle, sweet, and devoted—a true little shadow who wants nothing more than to be near her person. When she feels comfortable, her personality really shines. She loves chew toys, enjoys playing, and absolutely thrives in the company of other dogs. Having a confident, social dog in the home is a must for Star. A doggy role model helps her build confidence and learn the routine of home life.
