Most likely beagle! She is a sweet girl who came to us from a local shelter. She is good with other dogs, not cat tested, and housebroken! She is not a fan of the crate but will go in when needed. She has not been crated at her foster home and does fine. She will need a home with a fenced in yard and her adoption fee is $300. She is currently in the Dayton area. Please apply at ohiobassetrescue.com    Adoption Process: To meet one our dogs you must first fill out our application on our website ohiobassetrescue.com. Once submitted one of our volunteers will reach out to you. Upon approval you will be given an approval code to email us at ohbassetrescue@yahoo.com. Approvals are good for 6 months for any current or future dogs. After 6 months you will be directed to fill out an updated application. Please note we only process applications where the adopter lives in OH, IN, KY, PA, WV, lower MI. Adopters must be willing to travel to meet the dog they are adopting. He is a four year-old basset hound looking for a new home! Sunny came to us from a local shelter in the St. Louis area after losing his home when his parents fell on hard times. He is a sweet boy and does good with other dogs, however he does show a lot of interest in cats so we would recommend a cat free home for him! Sunny is neutered and up-to-date on shots and micro chipped. His adoption fee is $300 and he will require a home with a fenced in yard. He is currently located in the Columbus area.   Adoption Process: Apply online at ohiobassetrescue.com. He is a 35 pound basset hound mix who came to us from a shelter in the St. Louis Missouri area.   He is a real sweetheart and cannot wait for someone to call him their own! Augie has been in a temporary foster home with other dogs and cats for the past two weeks and he has done fine with both. He does show a little food aggression but is fine if fed separately. Hopefully this will subside after he has settled into a new permanent home after a few months. He is Up-to-date, neutered, and micro chipped! He is currently located in the Columbus Ohio area. Maggie and Willow came from a family who loved them dearly, however due to medical issues and changes in their life, they were not able to physically handle them and give them the love and attention that they needed. We would like to adopt them out together as they came in together. They were in a home with another older dog so they are fine with dogs. They will require a home with a fenced in yard and they are currently located in the Columbus area. Their adoption fee is $600 for both dogs. Meet Roscoe! 🐾Roscoe is a 4–5-year-old, 50-pound Basset Hound whose life has changed dramatically — and this sweet, soulful boy seems very happy to have left his old one behind. Before coming into rescue, Roscoe was living outside on a chain. When his owner could no longer care for him, a rescue partner stepped in and made sure he received the care he'd been missing. Roscoe has now moved on to the much better business of learning what life as a beloved house dog is all aboutAnd Roscoe has taken to it beautifully. His foster describes him simply as “a love bug.” He wants to be wherever his foster dad is, follows him from room to room and is perfectly content cuddling at his feet. He sleeps all night in a dog bed in the bedroom, rides nicely in the car, was a very good boy at the vet and has an excellent appetite. After a lifetime of uncertainty, Roscoe seems to especially appreciate the simple pleasures — a soft bed, a good meal and having his person nearby. Roscoe is excellent with other dogs and has done well around dogs of different sizes. He is comfortable going into a crate and eats his meals there, although he will occasionally bark when left alone. And like any respectable Basset, Roscoe does have a voice and isn't afraid to use it occasionally outside!His foster is keeping him on a consistent routine with frequent trips outside, and Roscoe is learning what is expected of him. He already sleeps through the entire night without accidents. With continued patience and consistency, he's off to a good start. Most of all, Roscoe is discovering just how nice it is to belong to someone. He's affectionate, devoted and happiest simply being near his person. His foster says “It will be hard to let him go,” which may be the best recommendation this formerly neglected boy could receive.Roscoe has already learned just how wonderful life can be when he's loved, cared for and included as part of the family. Now he's ready for a forever home where the soft beds, good meals and companionship aren't something new — they're simply part of everyday life. Apply at caninecollective.org to meet Roscoe!
