Story
🐾 Meet Milo! Milo is a 1 year and 4 month old mixed breed with big energy and an even bigger heart. He’s currently being fostered by his original owner while we search for the perfect adoptive family to call his own. 🏡 His current family wasn't really prepared for a dog and said that Milo is bigger than they thought he'd be, weighing in at 20 lbs. 🐶 Why Milo Might Be Your Perfect Match: ✨ He’s affectionate, intelligent, and playful — the kind of pup who gently places a paw on you when he thinks you’re about to leave. ✨ He’s high-energy and would thrive in an active home that enjoys long walks, park adventures, or hiking weekends (with proper hydration and always on leash!). ✨ He can be shy at first, but once you’re in his circle, he’s all cuddles and loyalty. ✨ He’s great with other dogs and does well with children. His exposure to cats has been limited, but neutral so far. ✨ He’s toy-obsessed — his favorites are non-negotiable! ✨ His biggest flaw? He’s got a bit of a thing for toilet paper. You’ll want to keep an eye on the bathroom door. 😅 Milo has been professionally evaluated by our trainer and exhibits typical “tiny dog behavior” — meaning he thrives with structure, boundaries, and positive reinforcement. He’s ready to bond with his people and be the heart of an active, engaged home. If interested in adopting one of our available pets, please fill out an application at https://www.cognitoforms.com/DixieGirl1/PetAdoptionApplicationForm2 PLEASE MAKE NOTE- OUR DOGS ARE FOSTERED IN ALABAMA (UNLESS OTHERWISE STATED), OUR DOGS TRANSPORT TO THEIR NEW FAMILIES IN PENNSYLVANIA AFTER THEY HAVE BEEN ADOPTED. Our rescue pets are fostered in Southern foster homes (unless otherwise stated) and are posted for adoption once they are completely vetted and ready to travel. Our pets are adoptable in Alabama, Pennsylvania and New England States. Our adoption fee includes transport fee, spay/neuter, current vaccinations, deworming, heart worm test for animals over 7 months old, all necessary vetting and an interstate health certificate. Once an application is received, our team is happy to answer all of your questions and send additional pictures and videos. Thank you for thinking rescue!

Story
If you are interested in adopting this dog, please email the adoption counselor:  lisastern.tr@gmail.com  and request an adoption application.  Dog's Name:  Short Stack Estimated Breed :  Dachshound/Spaniel Approximate Age:  9-10 years Approximate Weight:  15 lbs. Currently Living at:  Foster Adoption Fee:  $300   DOG'S DESCRIPTION:   Looking for a furry companion who will bring joy, loyalty, and endless love into your home? Short Stack  is the one for you! This sweet and cuddly little man  is ready to find his forever family. Here’s a little about him:  Personality: Sweet and extremely friendly, Short Stack LOVES to sleep in the big bed with his humans. He is definitely a huge snuggler, so if you are looking for a cuddle buddy, he's your happy-go-lucky lover boy.  Training & Behavior: Short Stack is fine in his crate, but does need some focused attention on house training. He is friendly with other smaller dogs; however, does get a bit intimidated and growly around big dogs. Short Stack is fine with cats, and probably would be fine with children who know how to treat a little senior dog.  Health & Wellness: Don't let his age fool you, this little guy still has some spunk! In general, he is lower energy, but still enjoys getting out for walks and outdoor time.  Perfect Home:  This sweet guy is just looking for attention and LOVE! If you can provide that, and some housetraining, than your household will work for Short Stack. Adoption fees cover basic vetting, spay/neuter surgery (for dogs over 6 months old), rabies, distemper/parvo vaccinations, treatment for worms, heartworm testing, monthly heartworm prevention and monthly flea/tick prevention (while the animal is in our care), and transport costs from high-kill shelter. Please note that on average, Hatton Animal Rescue spends significantly more on each dog than the adoption fee.
