Story
Lady Bug-Dachshund/Chihuahua female, ~ 1-2 yr. (Feb. 2024) Contact rescuebc@hotmail.com for application. Lady Bug came to Rescue when her owner abandoned her in a rural mountain area. She was very pregnant and in poor health. Rescue took her in, helped her through the pregnancy and back to good health. The puppies all have their homes and now it's momma's turn to have her new forever family. She's living in a foster home waiting for her forever family to find her. There are other dogs in the foster home and Lady Bug gets along best with the large dogs, but they feel she'd really be happiest as a single dog. She will enjoy an active lifestyle, a great hiking or walking partner. Bred to be loyal and kind. Lady Bug's weight is about 25# and she is full grown. The adoption fee is $350, to help cover the medical costs of getting ready for adoption. For our application, please email rescuebc@hotmail.com Include your location and a phone number for future communication.

Little Buddy is patiently waiting for a forever home to call his own. Could it be yours?Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family.    Adoption fees cover basic vetting, rabies (if puppy is old enough), distemper/parvo vaccinations, deworming, monthly heartworm prevention while in our care (if old enough), monthly flea/tick prevention while in our care, and transport costs. K-9 Lifesavers will also cover the cost of spay/neuter at our partner vet at 6 months of age or reimburse adopter for up to the amount of our partner vet cost should you choose to spay/neuter at your own vet. Foster Program:    Foster homes provide for the temporary care of a rescue until the dog is placed into a loving, forever home.  For more information on becoming a foster parent, and our Foster Program, visit http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/foster/ or email our Foster Coordinator at foster@k-9lifesavers.orgSPONSOR ME! Help Save Lives!    Make a tax-deductible donation today and help save a life. This sweet young boy came to us from rural Georgia to find his forever home. He would love to find an adopter who enjoys a daily walk or two and lots of play time. Being an active boy, Harvey is up for any adventure! Like his gal pal, Harley, he is ok with cats, but he likes to play/chase and some cats may not be fans. While Harvey generally likes people, he is a little unsure of men and tends to prefer the company of women. He also can be dog selective - except for his sister. Harvey would rather have all of the attention for himself and would do best as your one and only. So if you are ready for a new best buddy, why not fill out an application today and give Harvey a chance to have the forever home of his dreams!Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. Story
Hi, it’s nice to meet you, I’m Diablo, a 17 lb., dachshund/chi mix. I don’t remember much about my former life, but I’m glad to be with A Home of Their Own Animal Rescue to find my forever home. I’m a little shy around new people given all the changes I’ve been through. I’ve been in a couple of foster homes before, and I discovered that I feel more comfortable around adults and older children. Younger children scare me with their quick, sometimes unpredictable movements. I am looking for a forever home that is patient and loving. I believe I’m housetrained, but I may need a refresher. Also, I’d need some help feeling comfortable on a leash or find a home with an enclosed yard where I can exercise and do my business. I like crates because they feel so cozy and safe. That said, I may need some coaxing in the beginning to get out of my crate and into the world. I’m a sensitive guy with a big heart once I trust someone. Are you that forever trustworthy person I’m looking for?! ##2039331##

Story
Kovu is a sweet eleven year old long haired Chiweenie. He was originally my younger sister’s dog who she had ever since he was three months old. Due to various financial and life circumstances he has become the family dog and many of us have taken time caring for him. I’ve taken care of him lately but I am a graduate student and single mother and as much as it pains me to do so, I want to rehome him responsibly to a new loving home. My other family members are not in a position to give him the best care either. Kovu is naturally mild mannered and likes to stay close and snuggle all day if you let him. He is generally calm and loves his belly rubs as much as the next dog. He gets along well with female dogs, mild mannered cats, as well as older kids. He is a beautiful and loyal companion who always comes your way when feeling blue. It pains me to let him go, but I feel he deserves more than we can give right now.

Story
Hi my name is Cookee, and I'm the sweetest treat of a pup that you'll ever meet. People say I remind them of cookies and cream when I give them sweet kisses on the nose or bump up and snuggle with them when they're feeling down. I am a Dachshund-Basset mix and medium sized about 30# full grown. Sitting on people's couches or laps is my favorite pastime as I get to snuggle close to the people I love, which is practically everyone! I LOVE OTHER DOGS TOO!! I definitely want a home with other dogs :) As I am a bit on the older side and lived on the streets until I was saved with my babies in my tummy. I have been living at my foster home and am ready for my forever HOME!! I will need a patient and loving family to give me a good life of exercise- LOL, playtime, treats, love, affection, and belonging. Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX)
