Story
Whimsy is a quiet, steady companion who enjoys simply being part of your world without needing to be glued to your side. She’s wonderfully independent, happy to relax nearby, join you for an outing, or hang out while you go about your day. She’s the perfect match for someone who appreciates a dog that doesn’t need constant touching or attention to feel connected. When it’s time for fun, Whimsy has plenty of playful, high-energy moments. The rest of the time, she’s a laid-back couch potato who is easy to live with. She’s crate trained, walks beautifully on a leash, rides well in the car, and stays calm and quiet in the home. She’s observant, sweet in her own way, and content to entertain herself. Whimsy would do best in a home without cats. If you’re looking for a calm yet spirited dog who brings companionship without the clinginess, Whimsy might be exactly who you’ve been hoping for. Her adoption fee of $300 covers her spay, vaccines, parasite prevention, and a microchip. Visit www.fullcirclerescueandsanctuary.com to fill out an application.

Story
Hi there, I'm Akio, and although I had a rough start when I landed at my foster 3 weeks ago, I am now ready to find my forever home. As you can see from my "before" photos, I was in dire need of grooming and my skin was raw. However, with a good cleaning, healthy food, and medicated baths, as you can see, I'm doing quite well! I am a GREAT little dog - I get along well with everyone. I am confident, loving and energetic - the perfect fit for someone looking for a walking buddy but also seeking a couch/ lap companion. I do fine in my crate, I know SIT and I love to play. I also do well with bathing and grooming. I'm ready to make my debut as your new friend, so apply today and let's make it happen! Hatton Animal Rescue spends significantly more on each dog than the adoption fee covers; please consider making a tax-deductible donation by visiting us at https://www.hattonanimalrescue.org/sponsor. Donations help us offset vetting, boarding costs, and additional medical treatments for dogs who need it. For more information on Hatton Animal Rescue, visit our website at: hattonanimalrescue.org.

Story
Meet Zo! This sweet dachshund girl is the most breathtaking little queen you've ever seen. Zo arrived at the shelter in the arms of an elderly man who adored her for all 16 of her years. Her family cared for her with devotion, but age caught them faster than it caught Zo. Her dad had recently suffered a stroke and could no longer meet her needs. Zo is settling in beautifully. She eats like a champ, toddles around happily looking for crumbs, and is busy sampling every dog bed in the house like a petite, elderly Goldilocks. Deaf from birth, Zo is understandably a bit head shy when surprised. She's also blind, but she doesn't let it slow her down one bit - sometimes her foster mom places her in bed and walks across the room, only to turn around and find that Zo is right at her feet! Zo adores being with people, and being doted on. She wants to be with her people at all times and follows her foster family around the house like the most adorable little personal assistant. She thrives when she's the center of attention - which she usually since she's so adorable! Because she's blind, Zo will need to be carried up and down any stairs in her forever home and they will need to be blocked off for her safety. Zo loves being around other dogs and even uses them to help her navigate the world given her hearing challenges. Becaue of how much she loves company, Zo is looking for a forever family who will be home with her most of the time, love snuggling, and have at least one other dog friend for her. Zo has not mastered the art of leash-walking, so she'll also need a home with a fenced-in yard to explore. She also loves to get outdoor time in by being carried in a sling or pushed in a stroller when the weather is nice. Besides people and other dogs, Zo's favorite things are soft beds and good meals. She needs wet soft foods only (no kibble), and loves when her foster mom mixes bone broth and pumpkin in with them to make a little soup. Her foster mom helps her eat by pushing the food to the middle of the bowl so she get to it more easily (we told you she loves being doted on!). She also loves treats and thinks any hand contains one, so she'll open her mouth in the cutest way even when you're just petting her. Zo has a heart murmur and an open fistula that will not be repaired becuase she is not a candidate for anesthesia, but she is a happy, healthy girl with a contagious zest for life and love for everyone she meets. Zo is all light and joy. She's looking for a human to spoil her like the royalty she is in her golden years. Apply today to meet her! Zo is approximately 16 years old and 8 lbs. Fostered in Ashburn, VA Please apply at MirisHaven.org

Story
Name: Monkey Sex: Female Estimated Age: About 9 years old Best Guess for Breed: Chihuahua/Dachshund Mix Weight: About 15 lbs Lives With: Dogs, cats and all people (including kids)! Housebroken? She’s potty trained! Story: Monkey was rescued from a shelter in North Carolina. We are so happy to have her safe and sound in a foster home in the DC area now. Monkey is a happy sweetie who loves people and gets along great with other dogs and puppies. She knows just how to get comfortable up on the couch with her humans, and will love to join you on walks and trots around the neighborhood. Monkey is just looking for someone to be her new best furend and we know that she will repay them with endless amounts of love and tail wags. Like all dogs, Monkey will need an adopter who is committed to setting her up for success by enrolling in obedience training and exercising her both mentally and physically. She will also need love, patience, and socialization in order to thrive! What my foster says: Monkey is just the sweetest. She’s potty trained and hasn't had any accidents in the apartment. She's done great with other dogs as well as cats at her temporary foster (!!). Monkey's favorite thing is belly rubs and meal times! Monkey doesn't need any fancy outdoor area (she’d be a great apartment dog), just your love, attention, and the occasional stroll around the neighborhood. Don't let her gray face fool you, though! Monkey has her bouts of energy where she still gets those zoomies and wants to play catch with her favorite mouse toy. She's also content with just sleeping and watching over what you're doing, and she's done fantastic alone as well at home whenever I run errands or am out with friends. My favorite thing about her is that she'll get under the covers and snuggle there the whole night, so if you ever wanted your own personal, soft heater, you'll find it in her. Just in time for the cold season ahead!  There is no fee to adopt Monkey thanks to a generous donation from one of our volunteers. That covers the cost of all her vaccines, her spay, the collar she’s wearing, her transport to DC and her care in her foster home. She’s up to date on all age appropriate vaccines. Story
Located in Tennessee but can be transported to you through Rescue Riders. This girl was brought in with babies when her owner couldn't take care of her. She was not socialized very well so will need some work. She will need a very patient person to get her to come out of her shell. She was kept outside so she has no house manners, nor has she been with cats. She does do well with dogs her size and seems to like to play with them. She deserves a new chance to be a loved dog and companion. She will take a lot of time and investment but deserves a chance!

Freddy is a high-energy, happy-go-lucky boy who is great with dogs and kids! He loves to do big zoomies in a circle, then race right back to you for cuddles. After a long day of playing fetch—where he happily chases the ball, even if he doesn’t always bring it back—Freddy is more than ready to snuggle in. If you’re on the couch, expect him to curl right into your back and soak up the love. Freddy is a joyful, affectionate boy who is absolutely ready to find his forever home. If you want it shorter or extra playful, I can tweak the tone too Local adoption fee is $200(in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $450 (includes transport to your area)
