Story
Meet Betty — a precious little dachshund mix weighing just 13 pounds. We believe Betty is around 8 to 10 years old, though our veterinarian will help confirm her age when she is spayed. It’s clear Betty has likely spent much of her life being used for breeding, and we are beyond grateful those days are now behind her. She came to us through a private rescuer after it was discovered her previous family no longer wanted her — something we simply cannot imagine, because Betty is pure sweetness. This darling girl is cuddly, gentle, and happiest when curled up in your lap. She has a kind soul and a loving heart, and all she truly wants is to be someone’s devoted little companion. Betty is ready to leave her past behind and spend her golden years exactly as she deserves — cherished, safe, and deeply loved. Betty is located at our shelter near San Antonio, TX and is available for transport to Frederick, MD on August 22nd with approved application and confirmed adoption. Her adoption fee is $450. The fee includes transport cost. If you’d like to make this sweet dog part of your family, please review our adoption process and complete an application here: https://www.tracyspawsrescue.org/adopt Learn more about our rescue here: https://www.facebook.com/TracysPawsRescue Every dog adopted through Tracy’s Paws receives: • Chagas, heart worm, and tick testing (when age-appropriate) • All core vaccines (age-appropriate) • Heart worm and flea/tick preventatives • Regular De-worming • Spay/neuter surgery • Microchip Breed and age listings are our best guess, based on appearance. Whether you're adopting from us or anywhere in the southern states, please familiarize yourself with Chagas disease. It's endemic in the south. Story
Meet Lil Bit – A Devoted, Gentle Companion 🐾 Lil Bit is a 6-year-old Chihuahua mix with a heart full of love and a calm, loyal spirit. She’s the kind of dog who forms a deep bond with her person and will happily follow you from room to room, always wanting to be close by your side. This sweet girl has wonderful manners and an easygoing personality. She knows “sit,” waits patiently to be harnessed and leashed, and walks beautifully on a leash. Lil Bit is also very polite when meeting new people—she happily greets adults and respectful children with a gentle, friendly demeanor. At her recent adoption event, Lil Bit truly shined. Despite the busy environment, crowds, and loud music, she remained calm, quiet, and well-behaved—never barking and content to relax in a lap or lounge in the shade. She also did great around other dogs, showing she can comfortably coexist. Lil Bit is currently living with another dog and has no problem sharing space—even cozying up together for naps. She’s also not destructive and settles nicely in the home, rotating between relaxing with her people and her doggy companion. She appears to be trained on puppy pads. While transitioning to a new routine may take patience, she’s a smart girl and eager to learn. She eats her meals in her crate and gets adorably excited at mealtime! At night, she may bark a bit when settling in, but she’s otherwise a quiet companion. Lil Bit prefers to keep all four paws on the ground and isn’t a fan of being picked up, but she absolutely loves gentle pets and affection. While she tolerates toddlers, she is more comfortable with calm, respectful interactions, so she would thrive in a home with older children who understand how to interact gently with a small dog. If you’re looking for a loving, loyal companion who will stay close to your side and bring a peaceful presence to your home, Lil Bit may be your perfect match.

Story
Gracie is a one-of-a-kind low-riding, wide eared phenomenon who will stare directly into your eyes as if she has an important communication for you, The right adopter will be able to hear her. Her breed blend is a bit of a mystery. Basset? Dachshund? Who knows? Who cares? Not Gracie. Her legs measure approximately 11 baby carrots in length but she toddles through the room with the confidence of a an Amazon. Her ears are wide enough to pick up satellite signals, ensuring free cable for her new family! Gracie is a genuinely lovely little companion. She adores her people, enjoys a slow, thoughtful stroll {emphasis on slow}, and would happily spend the rest of her days being near you while you do absolutely anything… or nothing at all. She is the perfect home companion. Housetrained, good on the leash, happy to go for car rides, generally sleeps through the night. She is happy to spend all her time with her human and wants to be the one and only pet. Her vision and hearing seem pretty solid. Due to her back pain, she has trouble with stairs and would prefer to be carried up and down, like the queen that she is. Gracie would love for her new home to have a fenced yard where she can amble around, sniff things, and soak up the rays. She'd also love to go for lots of walks, have plenty of snuggle time, and enjoy a calm, quiet routine with her beloved human. She is hoping her human will be home most of the time or take her with wherever they go. She loves to be petted and snoodled and talked to. She will follow you everywhere! Not only will she lie AT your feet, she will lie ON your feet! Gracie has cushing's disease, so she will need to stay on medication to help her manage it for life. She also has some arthritis, including the above-mentioned back pain, which is benefitting from joint supplements like Cosequin and medications like gabapentin. She will also benefit from routing anal expressions (sorry, Gracie!). Gracie is a happy, happy dog, with the waggiest tail you could imagine! Gracie will not be your jogging partner or you agility champion, but she will be your devoted, loving companion. Gracie is approx 11 years old and 35 lbs. Fostered in Fairfield, PA Please apply at mirishaven.org

Story
Meet Bob! Bob is a 12-year-old Dachshund with the perfect balance of adventure and snuggles. At just 10 pounds, this handsome little guy is always up for exploring the yard, sniffing out his next great digging spot, or curling up beside his favorite people for some quality cuddle time. Bob is an affectionate, curious boy who loves people, treats, and anything involving attention. He'll happily join you for a leisurely walk before settling in for a cozy nap. His foster says he has *very* selective hearing, especially when he's discovered a new place to dig. If you call his name, he'll pretend not to hear you... but the wagging tail gives him away every time. Bob gets along well with other dogs, though he'd also be perfectly happy soaking up all the attention as your one and only pup. Cats, however, are a definite no-thank-you. He would do best in a calm home without young children, ideally with someone who's home much of the time and enjoys a quieter pace of life. A fenced yard where he can safely explore would be a bonus! As a senior, Bob has some vision changes, but he still gets around well, enjoys going up and down stairs, and doesn't let age slow him down. He's still learning the ropes in foster care, so we're continuing to learn more about his medical needs, but what we already know is that he has a huge heart and so much love to give. If you're looking for a loyal little sidekick who will keep you company on your adventures and happily snuggle up afterward, Bob can't wait to meet you. 12 year 10 lb neutered male brown dachshund Bob Fostered in Rockville, MD Please apply at mirishaven.org

Story
Meet Henry! 🐾 Henry is a confident, curious little guy with plenty of playful energy and just the right amount of cuddle bug mixed in. His foster describes him as a mini bruiser who looks like someone put a Lab/Pit mix through a shrink ray! He settled into foster care quickly and has been showing off his fun, well-adjusted personality ever since. Henry absolutely loves other dogs and would be thrilled to have a canine playmate. He enjoys toys, whether he’s entertaining himself or sharing playtime with his dog friends. He also walks nicely on a leash and does well using either a collar or harness. This smart boy does great in his crate and will even go inside on his own. He appears to be mostly house trained and is continuing to adjust to his foster home’s routine. After a day of playing and exploring, Henry is always happy to slow down for a good cuddle. Henry’s adoption fee is $300 and includes his neuter, age-appropriate vaccines, parasite prevention, and microchip. Looking at her pictures, you'd never know she came in looking like a train wreck. This poor dog lived on the streets for years and she sure looked it when she came in. Those days are behind her now and she is ready to roll on to the next chapter. Delta is a around 6 yrs old and weighs close to 50 lbs and she is very true to her breed. She is a stubborn Basset Hound who will keep you laughing every day. We enjoy her antics around here and love watching her and her boyfriend Mack play. Delta was treated for heart worm and is currently being treated for Chagas disease. Don't let that worry you.... she is doing great and strong as a bull. She is doing great on treatment! She gets along best with male dogs but can co-exist with male or female if its the right dog. Delta is located at our shelter near San Antonio, TX and is available for transport to Frederick, MD on August 22nd with approved application and confirmed adoption. Her adoption fee is $450.
