Story
If you are interested in adopting this dog, please email the adoption counselor:  lisastern.tr@gmail.com  and request an adoption application.  Dog's Name:  Short Stack Estimated Breed :  Dachshound/Spaniel Approximate Age:  9-10 years Approximate Weight:  15 lbs. Currently Living at:  Foster Adoption Fee:  $300   DOG'S DESCRIPTION:   Looking for a furry companion who will bring joy, loyalty, and endless love into your home? Short Stack  is the one for you! This sweet and cuddly little man  is ready to find his forever family. Here’s a little about him:  Personality: Sweet and extremely friendly, Short Stack LOVES to sleep in the big bed with his humans. He is definitely a huge snuggler, so if you are looking for a cuddle buddy, he's your happy-go-lucky lover boy.  Training & Behavior: Short Stack is fine in his crate, but does need some focused attention on house training. He is friendly with other smaller dogs; however, does get a bit intimidated and growly around big dogs. Short Stack is fine with cats, and probably would be fine with children who know how to treat a little senior dog.  Health & Wellness: Don't let his age fool you, this little guy still has some spunk! In general, he is lower energy, but still enjoys getting out for walks and outdoor time.  Perfect Home:  This sweet guy is just looking for attention and LOVE! If you can provide that, and some housetraining, than your household will work for Short Stack. Adoption fees cover basic vetting, spay/neuter surgery (for dogs over 6 months old), rabies, distemper/parvo vaccinations, treatment for worms, heartworm testing, monthly heartworm prevention and monthly flea/tick prevention (while the animal is in our care), and transport costs from high-kill shelter. Please note that on average, Hatton Animal Rescue spends significantly more on each dog than the adoption fee. Story
Meet Gemma, a 23 pound mixed breed, found pregnant on the streets of Texas and brought to Maryland to raise her babies...she was the best mom and has now turned into the best dog. Has a dachshund shape body with lots of other wonderful breeds thrown in. Sweet, friendly and outgoing, fully housebroken and just a joy to have around. Great with the dogs and cats in the foster home... she is just amazing, her babies are over and she is ready to be treasured. PLEASE NOTE- AN APPLICATION FROM THE WEBSITE ALMOSTHOMEDOGS.ORG IS REQUIRED prior to any meet and greet. Calling, emailing and using the “contact us” link is not useful and will delay your consideration in the adoption of the dog. The adoption fee is $450, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including age appropriate vaccinations, worming, flea/tick preventative and spay/neuter. All of our dogs will be microchipped. Because our dogs are in foster homes, applications are required prior to setting up any appointments. Calling or emailing may delay your consideration. APPLY AT ALMOSTHOMEDOGS.ORG (click on the word "Adopt" at top of page to find the dropdown menu with application) We are a non profit no kill 501 (c)3 rescue. Please understand that we do our best to describe our dogs but often we rescue them with virtually no information about them and often our best educated guess can be challenging. Currently check, cash or venmo is preferred payment

Story
Meet Clover (can you foster me?) Meet handsome Clover, one of 4 mixed breed puppies rescued from a rural high kill pound in North Carolina, Clover is 4 months old, very friendly, about 7 pounds and expected to stay about 20-22 pounds. Many breeds are suspected-chihuahua? beagle? dachshund? and probably 6 others but he is all lovebug. Great with kids, great with dogs Is your lap ready? Clover is very extroverted, friendly and social and will be a wonderful addition to a busy or quiet home. Petfinder inquires are not sent to us. The adoption fee is $475, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including age appropriate vaccinations, worming, flea/tick preventative and spay/neuter. Puppies under 6 months of age may go to adoptive homes before they are spayed/neutered with a spay/neuter contract. Adopters who choose to adopt a puppy that has not yet been spayed/neutered are subject to an additional deposit of $100 (refundable upon proof of spay/neuter prior to the contracted date.) Included in the adoption fee, the rescue will arrange spay/neuter by a partner vet at a predetermined appointment when the puppy is between 7-9 months of age. It is the responsibility of the adopter to bring the adopted puppy back to the rescue vet for spaying/neutering or, if they choose, to send verification from their own vet (at the adopter's own cost) that the puppy had been spayed/neutered. All of our dogs will be microchipped. APPLY AT ALMOSTHOMEDOGS.ORG (click on the word "Adopt" at top of page to find the dropdown menu with application) Because our dogs are in foster homes, applications are required prior to setting up any appointments. Calling or emailing may delay your consideration. Find our application on our website, almosthomedogs.org, then click on "Adopt" tab at top We are a non profit no kill 501 (c)3 rescue. Story
Stumpy-Bassett Hound/Labrador Retriever (Bassador) male, ~ 1-2 yr. (March 2024) Contact rescuebc@hotmail.com for application to adopt. Stumpy is living in a very rural area with a family that asked for help in finding him a new home. He's used to living a family life with children and loves the children. He would be best as an only dog. He's a mixed dog but a popular mix, called a Bassador. The Bassador temperament can vary a lot depending on whether they take after their Lab or Basset Hound parent more. Generally, they are sociable and loving. We are fortunate to know how Stumpy has done, living with a family. Bassadors love attention, especially from their favorite person. If you want a dog with a very unique look who’s loyal to a fault, the Bassador could be the dog for you! Stumpy's adoption fee is $350 to help cover the medical costs of getting ready for adoption. For our application, please email rescuebc@hotmail.com Include your location and a phone number for future communication.
