Story
**Charlie and Cody: Bonded Dachshund-Corgi Mix Brothers**   Charlie and Cody are gentle, reserved brothers, approx. 15 months old, both neutered. They were left at the shelter with their three sisters, and after being separated from them, the boys formed a strong bond. Now, they are affectionate and starting to enjoy life in the Pacific Northwest. They are gradually building trust with their foster family and getting used to their new home. Both are safe, well-fed, and comfortable. They are up to date on vaccinations and have no known health issues, so they are ready for adoption. Their foster home does not have a fenced yard, and because Cody and Charlie are still settling in, they have not yet started using harnesses or going for walks on a leash.  We hope the boys can be adopted together into a home with a fenced yard, so they have a safe place for potty breaks and can learn to walk on a harness and leash. Cody and Charlie might be shy at first, but they are curious and want to connect with people. They are motivated by food and will gladly take treats from your hand. They like being spoken to and respond well to a gentle voice. With time, patience, and love, they will become devoted companions. We prefer adopters who have experience with shy or untrained dogs, or who are open to guidance, to help the boys adjust smoothly to their new home. We do not know if they have been around children, so we recommend a home without kids or with children over 12. The Corgi-Dachshund mix, also known as a “Dorgi,” was first bred by Queen Elizabeth of the UK. Because they have a prey drive, they should not live with small animals or cats . **Adopting Cody and  Charlie **  To  adopt Cody and Charlie, please use the link below. One of our volunteers will review your application, follow up with you to ask questions, address any concerns, and see if you are a good match for these pups. If you are a match, the next step will be a meet-and-greet. Please use a computer to fill out the application, as tablets and cell phones may cause issues. The boys now eat a human-grade diet that avoids kibble and focuses on healthy, dog-specific food. We will teach their adopters about proper diet and nutrition. The adoption fee for adopting the boys together is $595 and includes neuter, all vaccines, and a microchip. www.smallpupsrescue.org  June 18, 2026, 6:48 pm

**Meet Luna the Adorable Dachshund-Terrier**   Luna is a sweet and loving Terrier mix brought to Rompin Paws Rescue with her two sisters. Luna’s on a heartfelt quest to find her forever home. Initially, Luna may be a bit shy when meeting new people. Still, once she feels safe and loved, she blossoms into a delightful cuddle companion, eagerly seeking your affection and a cozy lap to snuggle on.   Luna is 2.5 years old and is gorgeous! What makes Luna truly special is her unique beauty—a shiny, slightly wavy black coat highlighted with silver streaks and a charming white chest. Luna loves to be groomed, held, loved, and play with dog buddies in the yard   Luna thrives in the company of other dogs, so she would be happiest in a home with at least one dog-friendly friend to play with. Imagine the joy of watching her grow and flourish in a loving environment, especially with a mentor dog to guide her. Your commitment to nurturing these relationships will be instrumental in Luna's journey to confidence and happiness. With her active lifestyle, Luna requires a fenced yard to run and play freely. She is an energetic bundle of fun, always ready to romp and frolic with her fellow furry pals in the spacious play yard at the rescue. A true social butterfly, she loves to soak up attention from everyone she meets, and her enthusiasm for running makes her an exceptional walking companion. Luna has the potential to excel in agility training and other fun activities! Bringing Luna into your home means welcoming a vibrant spirit who is playful, sweet, and affectionate. With consistent training, she will likely acquire a range of skills quickly. However, she’s still mastering the harness and lead; her determination to learn mirrors her sisters', making training an exciting adventure. Luna is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, and ready to learn from her new adopters.   Are you ready to open your heart and home to Luna? The adoption fee is $395.00, with all funds directly supporting her care and allowing us to rescue even more needy dogs. Story
**Lexxi** Is a 16-pound, 1-year-old female Dacshund-Corgi mix found with hr sister, running with stray dogs dumped in an area of Fresno, California.  Lexxi is bonded to her sister, Libby, and we would love to see them adopted together. The adopter(s) will need to be very dog- and rescue-savvy, as both dogs are fearful of men. If there is a male in the home, he will need to be an equal partner in feeding and care in order to win their trust, as they will trust a woman first. From their foster:  Lexxi (black/tricolor ) is the quieter of the two and definitely appreciates her couch time. Now that she’s out of the noisy shelter environment, she’s really starting to blossom. With a gentle, steady home, she’ll continue to build her confidence. These two adore each other, bring zero drama, and are impressively quiet—they’d make absolutely terrible guard dogs, but perfect companions. The girls are up to date on vaccines and need to be spayed. Rompin Paws can work with the adopters to get them spayed at our vet, or they can take them to their vet. The current adoption fee does not include spaying costs. This may be updated if they are spayed prior to adoption. These pups are young and can be worked with to be lovely family members.  Their foster has begun working with them so that they have had harness and lead training, but will require more work. We do recommend a child-free home because of their anxiety and trauma from being dumped. They need a calm home with adults. If you have the time, love, experience, and willingness to help these two sweet girls work through their trauma so they can become loving and loved family members, we would love to chat with you. We are open to a foster-to-adopt period, so there is ample time allowed for the potential adopters to work with Libby and get to know her. **Adopting Lexxi** To apply to adopt, please use the link below. Story
**MIA** A friend in California rescued Mia after her previous owner abandoned her and her sister at a groomer. Mia is a 5-year-old female Dorgi, a mix of Corgi and Dachshund. She is intelligent, protective, loving, and independent. Trusting new people may take her a few days, but treats can help. Once comfortable, Mia loves belly rubs, playing with her toys, chewing on her split Elk antler, and running around the yard. She has a great personality and is incredibly loyal to her favorite human. Mia does not require constant attention and is happy to sit and chew on her antler while her owner works. However, when it's time for affection, she will put down her antler to enjoy quality time with her human. Mia's need for a loving owner will inspire compassion and care in anyone who meets her. What Mia Needs: Mia needs a home without children or small animals, as she prefers to be the only pet. She loves attention and requires someone to provide her with plenty of love and care. Additionally, she needs a fenced yard for potty breaks and walks. Keeping her on a healthy, canine-specific diet to ensure her well-being is essential and reflects your commitment and responsibility as an owner. We will offer comprehensive guidance on how to care for her. Most importantly, Mia needs a loving person dedicated to keeping her forever and will never abandon her again. MIA is very protective and needs proper introductions with new people, as she will try to protect her human and her home (it's a trait of the corgi-dachshund if not kept well socialized). Once she meets new people and sees them consistently, she makes friends. I will guide you in proper introductions. Mia needs a small animal and a child-free home. She does prefer women and will excel as a companion to a single woman who wants a loyal and protective one. Mia is a watchdog and will aggressively protect you and the home if a stranger comes to the door. How Can You Meet Mia? To meet Mia, please use the link provided to apply. One of our volunteers will review your application, contact you to answer any questions, and determine whether you are a good match for Mia.  Mia has transitioned to a human-grade diet that avoids kibble and follows a healthy, canine-specific feeding regimen. We will educate her adopters about proper diet and nutrition.  There is a $350.00 adoption fee to adopt Mia. All funds will be used to cover her medical care and to help rescue more dogs in need   www.smallpupsrescue.org  June 18, 2026, 6:48 pm

**A Tail of Two Boy Puppies** Devon and Matteo are two brothers looking for their forever homes. UPDATE: Matteo has been adopted. Devon (The dark chocolate coat) is available. He does need another dog in the home for mentoring and to have a buddy, as he has always been a part of a dog pack These boys were born at the rescue after their mom was rescued while pregnant. They have already faced a few challenges, including being bottle-fed after their mom ran out of milk early and overcoming Parvo at eight weeks old. Now, the boys are healthy. They eat well and love attention, fresh air, and sunshine. They turn four months old on June 8.  Because they have been handled since birth, both boys are very well socialized and extremely loving. They are shy when meeting new people. Once held, they love to stay close and be wherever their human is. Devon is shorter and has a chocolate-colored coat. He has a very outgoing and excellent personality Devon will do best in a home with at least one person who works from home or is retired. He needs another dog in the home for mentoring and friendship.  These are some of the sweetest puppies we have raised, thanks to all the early handling they received. Hershey (Momma’s brother) was given a DNA test. These pups are quite the mixed-breed mutts. Their dominant breeds seem to be the Poodle and the Dachshund. They also have a super mutt mix of Terrier,/Pug/Maltese/German shepherd/, Miniature Pinscher, and a host of other small percentages of breeds. The brother's dominant look is that of a Poodle-Dachshund mix. If you are interested in adopting Devon and giving him a forever home, please reach out to us for more information or to arrange a visit. Your new best friend could be waiting for you! The adoption fee is $495.00. Devon is being fed Human-Grade dog food. We will share feeding and training tips.  www.smallpupsrescue.org June 18, 2026, 6:48 pm

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Hey-a! I’m Mario ❤️ I may be a little guy, but I’ve got a big heart, lots of love to give, and I’m very ready for my happily ever after. I came to rescue from a crowded shelter where I was running out of time, but thankfully I got my second chance — and now I’m hoping my forever family is next! I’m a super friendly boy who loves meeting people. New friends? Amazing. Familiar faces? Even better! I’m always happy to see you and usually come with a wagging tail and cheerful little smile. I really just enjoy being part of the fun and close to my people. I also get along with other dogs and currently share my kennel area with two other male dogs. I do especially well with female dogs, though, because I can sometimes get a little bossy with other boys. What can I say? I like to think I’m in charge sometimes. But overall, I’m still a very good boy and do just fine with proper introductions and respectful dog friends. I’m not sure how I do with cats or young kids yet, but I’ve shown everyone here what a sweet, happy companion I can be. I’m neutered, fully vaccinated, and microchipped, so I’m all set and ready to start my next adventure with a family of my own. All I need now is someone to love me forever. Adoption fee: $400 Apply at: www.adoggie4you.org Mario is currently in Texas but can be transported to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Chicago, Des Moines, Omaha, Cincinnati, Lexington, Kentucky, and locations along the East Coast for an additional $225 transport fee. Please note that transport is not available to Rhode Island or Massachusetts due to state regulations.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.June 26, 2026, 4:06 pm
