She was originally part of our 'Take Out' litter, and we split the litter with a local shelter. Fast forward a year+ and the adopter from that shelter knew that we rescued the entire litter and rather return her to a shelter, they wanted to know if we would take her into our foster program. We said yes! Lola is actually big dog / little dog. Half Cheweenie, half large breed mutt! Now, Lola is adorable, head strong, smart, sassy, loves her humans! She was originally adopted by an older couple who were not ready for her teen energy, and they thought they were getting a much smaller dog. Lola is now full grown and about 26# - to be fair, that's a 'chunky' 26# as she is bit overweight. She's just 18 months old. She also didn't get a lot of socialization outside the home and it took her about a week to join in the play and antics of the foster's other dogs. Lola still can be a little stand-offish with the resident dogs. We think she would LOVE and needs to be an only dog at this time - the center of attention, because she adores her people. We recently took her to an event and she was ALL tail wags. Happy to see people, happy to say hello. Lola is crate trained and sleeps in one at night. We recently discovered she's not traditionally housebroken. The previous owners were allowing her to use washable potty pads in the home. Argh. Our foster is working on changing this behavior, but routines will likely need to be established in her new home. Lola would benefit from training, going on walks, burning off energy. The other littermates who were adopted through Save-A-Mutt are doing great and have made amazing pets... we think Lola will too, she just needs an experience adopter who will give her guidelines and love. There is a 3 year old in the foster's home and Lola is a bit cautious around her, so we think kids over 10 would be best. She is not a fan of the resident cat, a feline free home would be best for her. This dog is spayed, microchipped and fully vaccinated. The 3-3-3 rule is a guideline for transitioning a rescue dog into its new home and helping it to settle in. It suggests that the first three days should be used for adjusting to its new surroundings, the next three weeks for training and bonding, and the first three months for continued socialization and training. Each dog goes home with a goody bag including collar/leash, toys, chews, Kong, and more. You will receive all medical records, microchip transfer form and other paperwork at the time of adoption. Adoptions typically take place in Stanwood. Adoption fee is $325. Save-A-Mutt is a registered 501c3 and half of your adoption fee may be tax deductible. Save-A-Mutt is a foster based rescue, we do not have a facility to visit. Our adoptions are typically done Monday - Saturday, we are closed on Sunday’s to give our volunteers at least one day off. You must be available to do meets and adoptions during that time frame. We can make exceptions only with the approval of the foster home. Please note, we have approximately a 300 mile adoption radius - Portland OR area and Vancouver BC is the farthest north. We don’t ship dogs, once approved you must pick them up in Snohomish County, WA. Canadian adopters must be able to come to Stanwood WA to pick up your dog.

Fester was owner surrendered along with his siblings and mom after they became very sick with parvovirus and nearly didn’t make it. After fighting through that difficult time and making a full recovery, Fester is ready to start the next chapter of his life. Fester is a happy, playful, energetic puppy with plenty of typical puppy energy! He loves to play, have fun, and enjoy life to the fullest. He’s an active, fun-loving boy who is ready for a family that will give him plenty of love, attention, and opportunities to be a puppy. Fester is neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped, and up to date on flea/tick and heartworm prevention. Adoption fee: $300 Fester is currently in Texas but can travel to Washington, Portland and other areas of Oregon, Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Chicago, Des Moines, Omaha, Cincinnati, Lexington, Kentucky, and along the East Coast.
