Story
Viper is one of the 2 boys in his litter.  He is a little more reserved than most of his siblings but warms up quickly.  He loves the big dogs.  He is sweet and cuddly - very happy to sit and watch TV with you.   Viper uses the doggie door (without a flap) and will be easy to potty train.  He is a chill guy looking for his family to show him the good In the world.   Viper is neutered, vaccinated for age, microchipped, wormed and ready for his forever home.  He is fostered in Colorado Springs.  ##1808799##

Story
THIS BOY NEEDS HIS OWN HOME! Originally from a rural shelter, and now in Colorado Springs, CO, living with a pack of dogs, Bailey is an active 6-7 year old neutered male dog with lots of love to give the right person or family. He loves to run and would like to run beside a bike or go running in the field. Bailey can be a little reserved when he first meets you, but doesn't take long to warm up. He enjoys his walks but, like most dogs, really needs to run for more exercise. Bailey can be independent; his new owner would do best to set boundaries at the start. Yet, Bailey is basically mellow, a cuddler and a kisser, and always wants to be by your side. He is a very sweet boy! He is crate trained, although he has good house manners and loves car rides. There are no birds in the backyard, because he chases them off. No cats for Bailey. Bailey enjoys watching over his family and house from a deck or porch during the day and capturing your bed at night. He needs a home with another dog for company and romping, and at least a 5 ft. fence for security.   For more information, contact Jeannine at jeannine@dalmatianrescueco.org. Adoption $250. If interested in this dog, please go to www.dalmatianrescueco.org and submit an application for adoption. Under Adoptions, please read our adoption policy.  We must have an application before we can begin the adoption process and each dog does have foster contact listed. September 19, 2023, 9:25 am

Story
Hello Everybody! My name is Mika (mee-kuh). I’m a Dalmatian mix, and a little bit bigger girl (because I am tall), but I only weigh about 55-57 pounds. I could stand to lose another couple of pounds, but the food is good here and we have yummy treats! I’m not telling, but I am probably mixed with either a larger hound or something like a Great Pyrenees because I have dewclaws on my back feet and a tiny bit of an undercoat. I am getting along well with my foster sisters and with a boy dog that was fostering with me for a while. I am kind of bold, and a bit rowdy, when meeting new dogs, so slow introductions will be required. Once I learn to trust you, I will play with you all day. I do like to set the rules among the four-leggeds, so I have some opinions about sharing the water bowl, guarding my space, and occasionally wanting to keep my bone or my person to myself. I won’t get too upset though if you just understand my rules. My foster Mom is working on this with me. I do great hanging around the food bin while Mom gets our dinner, and I am very considerate when the treats are being doled out, but my new parents need to continue working on this resource guarding thing with me. I have not been around cats or kids, but I do very well leaving the resident house bunnies alone (well, except to eat the bunny berries. Those guys are like regular treat dispensers, it’s kinda cool!). I love to be with my person, and I follow her everywhere. Sometimes I climb in her lap or jump on her, but I am working on that. I am also a very good girl and can stay in my own room even when Mom leaves the house, but I do well lounging in my crate when I have to. I have very good potty habits although I did do a little submissive peeing when I first got here because I was scared about being in a new place. I haven’t done that in a long time though. I would love a home where I am either an only dog or have one or two more submissive buddies. I do love to play, so a play buddy would be nice. I don’t think I would like the dog park. Please contact my foster mom Tara @ spotteddogs91@hotmail.com or our friend Ms. Tena at tjp@mygrande.net and ask more about me. I am so looking forward to my new forever home! Mika is located in Live Oak (San Antonio), TX. Adopter must pick up. She is spayed, HW Neg, and current on vaccinations. Adoption fee $350.00 Applications may be submitted at www.dalmatianrescueco.org   If interested in this dog, please go to www.dalmatianrescueco.org and submit an application for adoption. Meet Selene! She had a really rough start, somehow finding herself in the Laredo, TX shelter. But, thanks to a friend, she made her way out of there and is now with her DRC foster. This beautiful girl is a smiler! She has the cutest little underbite and loves to play. Selene loves to chew on her bones, knows sit, and is pretty good at walking on a leash. She does well with males and is selective with females. Selene is not fond of cats or small dogs. She is about 58 lbs, crate-trained, house-trained, microchipped, current on vaccinations, and spayed. Selene is located in Waco, TX. Applications may be submitted at www.dalmatianrescueco.org. Story
Shane is one of the cutest and sweetest liver spotted Dalmatians. He spent 2 years abandoned on the street and was so scared at first. After showing him love and reuniting him with his best friend from the streets he began to blossom. He still gets a little nervous at times but is a happy boy and loves to play with other dogs. He is wonderful with puppies but we have not tested him with cats although they were around on the streets. He prefers to sleep with his people and dog siblings but can get spooked by sudden movements in the night. He is comfortable in his crate and will let you know when he needs to go outside. He walks great on a leash and will look back to make sure you're still there with him. Shane will need a secure fence and patience as he bonds. He's an amazing boy just looking for his forever home. Shane is current on vaccinations, heartworm negative, neutered and microchipped. For more info, contact Shane's foster mom, Kacy at hopesrescueangels@gmail.com. Applications may be submitted at www.dalmatianrescueco.org. Adoption fee: $400.   If interested in this dog, please go to www.dalmatianrescueco.org and submit an application for adoption. Story
Sometimes we stretch the definition of Dalmatian when we accept dogs into our rescue. Skittles is one of these cases. We’re calling him a hound mix with “a hint of Dalmatian”. This two-year-old boy was saved from the shelter’s euthanasia list with only minutes to spare! But he was so friendly and look, he has a couple of Dalmatian type spots on one ear! Skittles is deaf but this happy boy doesn’t let that hold him back. He will need a safe, fenced-in play area and lots of on-leash exercise. His new owner will be encouraged to train him with hand signals and preference will be given to adopters familiar with deaf dogs. Skittles gets along well with other dogs. This happy, energetic young boy is guilty of jumping up and will need gentle training to stop this behavior. But Skittles is crate trained, and does know “sit“. and he’s very willing to learn more! His exuberance and need for training makes us feel Skittles should be placed in a home without young children. Adults, possibly with teenagers, would be preferred. More than anything, Skittles loves cuddles and belly rubs. He came to us heartworm positive but is responding well to treatment which should be completed soon. To learn more about Skittles, contact Tena at tjp@mygrande.net. His adoption fee is $250.   If interested in this dog, please go to www.dalmatianrescueco.org and submit an application for adoption. Under Adoptions, please read our adoption policy.  We must have an application before we can begin the adoption process and each dog does have foster contact listed. September 19, 2023, 9:25 am
