Story
Zero is a 8MO Traditional BLK and white Dalmatian. Male LUA Intact. Zero is crate trained, potty trained, leash trained and knows a few commands. He is not on any special diet or have any health complications. He is full hearing. Zero is UTO on 5-1 Rabies-Lepto- Bordetella and on a monthly heartworm prevention. Zero is dog selective and selectively leash reactive. We got him from said breeder at 4 months he missed the important part of his socialization. We have done our work to socialize him. He does better with larger dogs rather than smaller. We have a downstairs neighbor who’s small dog always barks and reacts to them we have a feeling this is part of his reactivity towards small dogs. Zero takes 10-20 minutes to warm up to new people best way to do that is through taking him for a walk, once he’s comes around he’s a bouncy boy and playful. He will give you love on his terms and prefers space when he needs it. Zero requires super crewed toys and a good nap

Story
THIS BOY NEEDS HIS OWN HOME! BAILEY HAS BEEN IN A DRC FOSTER HOME SINCE 2019. Sweet, lovable Bailey is an active 7-8 year old neutered mixed breed dog, ready to give you lots of love and devotion. He likes to go for walks and gentle runs and would love to go on hikes. Bailey doesn't take long to warm up to new people. But Bailey is also a cuddler, and a kisser. He is a true velcro dog, always wanting to be by your side. Bailey is not fond of cats. He is a caretaker and watches over his family and house from a deck or patio during the day and captures your bed at night. Bailey would like a home with another laid-back companion for company and and play-time, and a good fence for security. For more information, contact friends@dalmatianrescueco.org. Bailey is currently in Falcon (Colorado Springs). Suggested adoption donation: $250. Please submit an application for adoption for Bailey at www.dalmatianrescueco.org.  If interested in this dog, please go to www.dalmatianrescueco.org and submit an application for adoption. Story
Hello Everybody! My name is Mika (mee-kuh). I’m a Dalmatian mix, and a little bit bigger girl (because I am tall), but I only weigh about 55-57 pounds. I could stand to lose another couple of pounds, but the food is good here and we have yummy treats! I’m not telling, but I am probably mixed with either a larger hound or something like a Great Pyrenees because I have dewclaws on my back feet and a tiny bit of an undercoat. I am getting along well with my foster sisters and with a boy dog that was fostering with me for a while. I am kind of bold, and a bit rowdy, when meeting new dogs, so slow introductions will be required. Once I learn to trust you, I will play with you all day. I do like to set the rules among the four-leggeds, so I have some opinions about sharing the water bowl, guarding my space, and occasionally wanting to keep my bone or my person to myself. I won’t get too upset though if you just understand my rules. My foster Mom is working on this with me. I do great hanging around the food bin while Mom gets our dinner, and I am very considerate when the treats are being doled out, but my new parents need to continue working on this resource guarding thing with me. I have not been around cats or kids, but I do very well leaving the resident house bunnies alone (well, except to eat the bunny berries. Those guys are like regular treat dispensers, it’s kinda cool!). I love to be with my person, and I follow her everywhere. Sometimes I climb in her lap or jump on her, but I am working on that. I am also a very good girl and can stay in my own room even when Mom leaves the house, but I do well lounging in my crate when I have to. I have very good potty habits although I did do a little submissive peeing when I first got here because I was scared about being in a new place. I haven’t done that in a long time though. I would love a home where I am either an only dog or have one or two more submissive buddies. I do love to play, so a play buddy would be nice. I don’t think I would like the dog park. Please contact my foster mom Tara @ spotteddogs91@hotmail.com or our friend Ms. Tena at tjp@mygrande.net and ask more about me. I am so looking forward to my new forever home! Mika is located in Live Oak (San Antonio), TX. Adopter must pick up. She is spayed, HW Neg, and current on vaccinations. Adoption fee $350.00 Applications may be submitted at www.dalmatianrescueco.org   If interested in this dog, please go to www.dalmatianrescueco.org and submit an application for adoption. Story
Sometimes we stretch the definition of Dalmatian when we accept dogs into our rescue. Skittles is one of these cases. We’re calling him a hound mix with “a hint of Dalmatian”. This two-year-old boy was saved from the shelter’s euthanasia list with only minutes to spare! But he was so friendly and look, he has a couple of Dalmatian type spots on one ear! Skittles is deaf but this happy boy doesn’t let that hold him back. He will need a safe, fenced-in play area and lots of on-leash exercise. His new owner will be encouraged to train him with hand signals and preference will be given to adopters familiar with deaf dogs. Skittles gets along well with other dogs. This happy, energetic young boy is guilty of jumping up and will need gentle training to stop this behavior. But Skittles is crate trained, and does know “sit“. and he’s very willing to learn more! His exuberance and need for training makes us feel Skittles should be placed in a home without young children. Adults, possibly with teenagers, would be preferred. More than anything, Skittles loves cuddles and belly rubs. He came to us heartworm positive but is responding well to treatment which should be completed soon. To learn more about Skittles, contact Tena at tjp@mygrande.net. His adoption fee is $250.   If interested in this dog, please go to www.dalmatianrescueco.org and submit an application for adoption. Under Adoptions, please read our adoption policy.  We must have an application before we can begin the adoption process and each dog does have foster contact listed. June 21, 2024, 10:17 am

Story
AN ATHLETE'S ATHLETE! Murphy is a gorgeous, green-eyed liver boy who loves an extreme lifestyle. He loves to run; he's begun to learn agility; and he would excel in all kinds of canine sports! Murphy had a horrible early start in life with a very abusive family who were observed hitting him often. He lived with 2-3 small kids, 2 small dogs (he has also lived with a female rottie) and his "parents" in a rented farmhouse in Illinois. One day, the family drove away and abandoned him in the house with no food or water. Two days later, the homeowner heard him howling for help. Poor Murphy was so afraid that he constantly shook and trembled and was terrified to be touched. Since then, Murphy has been with an extraordinary behaviorist and trainer near Orlando. He's gained enormous confidence and learned to love and trust. He is protective of his person while allowing them space, which he also wants. Like all dogs, he needs a job. Murphy is very focused on his handler and has tremendous drive and work ethic. He will need a special adopter who is willing to take the time to provide exercise, companionship, and learning to help him excel. Murphy has started obedience and agility training. Could you be the right person for this special boy? Please contact sandy@dalmatianrescueco.org.  If interested in this dog, please go to www.dalmatianrescueco.org and submit an application for adoption.
