Story
Ever seen a Dalmatian/Pit? Meet Frankie! Frankie is playful, loves attention, and lives for car rides, walks and men! Frankie originally came from a high kill shelter in Texas. He is such a GOOD boy. He rides beautifully in the car and a cracked window is heavenly to him. When you go the garage/car, he expects to go with you. He loves walks- so much to smell, see and pee on. On leash he needs someone strong to work with him on his skills still. He LOVES men, loses his mind with joy over some of his man friends, and wants to rough house play with them. He loves his stuffed babies, which he disembowels, then plays with the carcasses endlessly. Flying insects are at extreme risk if they enter Frankie’s orbit- he turns on Pac-Man mode and chomps chomps chomps. Reflections on the ceiling or wall drive him a little nuts trying to get at them. He loves being rubbed and brushed, his hind end jumps up and down, and he will give a little growl of pure pleasure.    Frankie is house trained and can use a dog door. He sits at meal and treat time. He can speak on command. He currently lives with two 25 pound Terrier foster brothers who he could gobble up in one bite, but he has adjusted his play to their size like the good boy he is. Frankie loves all dogs and humans too! Frankie is available to be a good boy in your home today! Frankie has made the journey up from San Antonio, Texas and is being fostered in Denver, available to meet! Red Fern Animal Rescue offers a two week foster to adopt trial in your home before finalizing the adoption to ensure the animal is the right fit for you, everyone in the home, human & animal, and vice versa. Red Fern Animal Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit foster-based animal rescue in Denver that saves animals from abandonment and neglect in South Texas for new lives in Colorado. We primarily rescue dogs off the streets and from kill shelters in San Antonio. ##2070193##

Story
Hello Everybody! My name is Mika (mee-kuh). I’m a Dalmatian mix, and a little bit bigger girl (because I am tall), but I only weigh about 55-57 pounds. I could stand to lose another couple of pounds, but the food is good here and we have yummy treats! I’m not telling, but I am probably mixed with either a larger hound or something like a Great Pyrenees because I have dewclaws on my back feet and a tiny bit of an undercoat. I am getting along well with my foster sisters and with a boy dog that was fostering with me for a while. I am kind of bold, and a bit rowdy, when meeting new dogs, so slow introductions will be required. Once I learn to trust you, I will play with you all day. I do like to set the rules among the four-leggeds, so I have some opinions about sharing the water bowl, guarding my space, and occasionally wanting to keep my bone or my person to myself. I won’t get too upset though if you just understand my rules. My foster Mom is working on this with me. I do great hanging around the food bin while Mom gets our dinner, and I am very considerate when the treats are being doled out, but my new parents need to continue working on this resource guarding thing with me. I have not been around cats or kids, but I do very well leaving the resident house bunnies alone (well, except to eat the bunny berries. Those guys are like regular treat dispensers, it’s kinda cool!). I love to be with my person, and I follow her everywhere. Sometimes I climb in her lap or jump on her, but I am working on that. I am also a very good girl and can stay in my own room even when Mom leaves the house, but I do well lounging in my crate when I have to. I have very good potty habits although I did do a little submissive peeing when I first got here because I was scared about being in a new place. I haven’t done that in a long time though. I would love a home where I am either an only dog or have one or two more submissive buddies. I do love to play, so a play buddy would be nice. I don’t think I would like the dog park. Please contact my foster mom Tara @ spotteddogs91@hotmail.com or our friend Ms. Tena at tjp@mygrande.net and ask more about me. I am so looking forward to my new forever home! Mika is located in Live Oak (San Antonio), TX. Adopter must pick up. She is spayed, HW Neg, and current on vaccinations. Adoption fee $350.00 Applications may be submitted at www.dalmatianrescueco.org   If interested in this dog, please go to www.dalmatianrescueco.org and submit an application for adoption. Under Adoptions, please read our adoption policy.  We must have an application before we can begin the adoption process and each dog does have foster contact listed. March 9, 2026, 12:21 am

Story
Whoa! This is not a "real" spot, but just look at the gigantic spot on his back! This pup is super sweet, friendly, and such a big goober. His idea of a good time is PLAY! Lenny is not yet a year old, so he still has a lot of puppy energy and will require a firm but kind hand as he learns his obedience lessons. A puppy class with a local trainer would do wonders for this boy and help build your bond with him over the first few weeks. Lenny looks kind of like a pitty but maybe also some boxer. It would be fun to have his DNA tested to see just what this boy might be. His personality is very goofy, silly, and lovable. He reminds us of Snoopy in the comic strip! Lenny is now ready for his forever home, so if you're looking for a puppy, here is your boy. We do not recommend a home with toddlers because of his energy level, but we think he would do well with middle-sized children and certainly teens. An active family would his ideal match. Lenny is up-to-date on vaccinations, including rabies, neutered, and microchipped. Lenny is located in the Denver area. For more information, please contact  jeannine@dalmatianrescueco.org . His suggested adoption donation is $400.   If interested in this dog, please go to  www.dalmatianrescueco.org  and submit an application for adoption. Story
Introducing...Sammie! LOCATED IN ALVIN, TX. Sammie is a two-year-old Dalmatian with a bright future ahead of her. She was originally found in rural ranchland and, after a difficult start, has spent time with a professional trainer building confidence, trust, and life skills. She has come so far and is now ready to find a foster or forever home where she can continue to thrive. Sammie is a highly intelligent, energetic girl who loves to engage her mind as much as her body. She enjoys problem-solving and will do best in a home that understands the needs of a working, active breed. Daily exercise, structure, and ongoing mental stimulation are key to helping Sammie be her very best self. She will thrive with an adopter who has Dalmatian experience or experience with smart, high-drive dogs and who can provide clear, consistent, healthy boundaries. Sammie would do best as an only dog, though she may be able to live with one confident, non-reactive male dog after proper introductions. Meet-n-greet required. At just 40 lbs, she’s a petite powerhouse with a big personality. Sammie is fully vetted, spayed, and heartworm negative—healthy, ready, and eager for her next chapter. And when she’s happy and comfortable, she’ll show you her signature charm: Sammie is a smiler, and her joyful expression is impossible to resist. Story
Lance is a beautiful male Dalmatian who has been somewhat overlooked in the last couple of years. Dumped near Dallas, TX, he was un-mannered and very strong. As with most strays, he was nervous and a little difficult to manage when first meeting new dogs. Since he was neutered and moved into a loving foster home, Lance has learned to get along with lots of other dogs. His foster/trainer has worked very hard to teach Lance some manners and will be available to work with Lance's new family to insure an easy transition. Cats are unknown. Older children are recommended because of Lance's size and strength. He would be a great running companion. Lance is located in Colorado Springs, and his recommended adoption donation is $350.   Contact jeannine@dalmatianrescueco.org.   If interested in this dog, please go to www.dalmatianrescueco.org and submit an application for adoption. Under Adoptions, please read our adoption policy.  We must have an application before we can begin the adoption process and each dog does have foster contact listed. March 9, 2026, 12:21 am

Story
Meet sweet, pretty Sugar. Sugar is approximately 5 years old and was picked up in Aurora, CO, with three other Dals who had been running together in the streets of Aurora for at least several days. They were taken to the Aurora Animal Shelter, and Sugar was transferred to Dalmatian Rescue of Colorado in February. She went directly into foster care. As a very shy and shut down pup, she is learning to accept and maybe even enjoy attention from humans, and she doesn’t mind children. She enjoys pets and even cuddles once she gets to know you a bit. Currently, she is not too interested in toys, preferring to watch what’s going on around her from her crate, with or without the door open. Sugar doesn't seem to know much about obedience and lacks confidence. She goes out 4 or 5 times a day and sometimes seems to be trying to signal when she wants to go out. Of course, we don’t know much about her background – only what we learned about her in the shelter and her couple of weeks at her very busy foster home. Sugar has been pleasant in her foster home so far – seems to prefer women over men, but we hope to see that change as she adjusts to her new environment. She needs to be encouraged or coaxed a lot to interact but has been watching TV at night with the family. She is sweet and appreciates gentle and slow movements. Sugar would be happy in a home with mostly adults (or older children) and one or two calm, gentle dogs. Sugar is up to date on vaccinations, is spayed and microchipped. For more information, please contact  jeannine@dalmatianrescueco.org . Suggested adoption donation is $350  If interested in this dog, please go to  www.dalmatianrescueco.org  and submit an application for adoption.
