Story
Camila, DNA results pending, is such a sweet, affectionate girl with so much love to give. More than anything, she wants to be close to her people. She’s a little Velcro pup who will happily follow you around, curl up next to you on the couch, and soak up every belly rub, ear scratch, and snuggle she can get.
Camila is also excited about life and loves to have fun! She LOVES playing with all of her foster siblings and looks forward to her daily walks. She’s incredibly inquisitive and enjoys exploring new places and investigating all the interesting sights, sounds, and smells around her. She may approach something unfamiliar with a little uncertainty at first, but it usually doesn’t take long before her curiosity takes over.
Having other dogs around has been wonderful for Camila. She enjoys their companionship, loves having playmates, and benefits from watching them show her the ropes. But as much as she loves her dog friends, her favorite thing is still knowing her person is nearby.
Camila is smart, eager to please, and very treat motivated, which makes training fun! She already knows sit and is working on down and stay. Sometimes her excitement gets the best of her and she wants to greet you with a jump, so her foster family is helping her learn that four paws on the floor is the better way to say hello.
She’s also doing wonderfully with her home routine. Camila is potty trained, uses the dog door, and sleeps peacefully in her kennel all night until about 6 a.m. After a day of playing, walking, and exploring, she’s more than happy to settle onto the couch for some serious cuddle time.
Camila is not reactive, but she may bark when she first sees someone she doesn’t know. It’s simply her way of saying, “Give me a minute to figure out who you are.” Once she has a chance to check you out and realizes everything is okay, she quickly comes in for affection.
Every day, Camila is learning more, gaining confidence, and discovering that the world can be a pretty wonderful place. She has such a gentle, loving spirit and is looking for a family who will continue helping her experience all the good things life has to offer.
If you’re looking for a playful companion, walking buddy, sweet little shadow, and champion snuggler whose whole world lights up when she feels loved, Camila might just be your girl.
