Story
Ever seen a Dalmatian/Pit? Meet Frankie! Frankie is playful, loves attention, and lives for car rides, walks and men! Frankie originally came from a high kill shelter in Texas. He is such a GOOD boy. He rides beautifully in the car and a cracked window is heavenly to him. When you go the garage/car, he expects to go with you. He loves walks- so much to smell, see and pee on. On leash he needs someone strong to work with him on his skills still. He LOVES men, loses his mind with joy over some of his man friends, and wants to rough house play with them. He loves his stuffed babies, which he disembowels, then plays with the carcasses endlessly. Flying insects are at extreme risk if they enter Frankie’s orbit- he turns on Pac-Man mode and chomps chomps chomps. Reflections on the ceiling or wall drive him a little nuts trying to get at them. He loves being rubbed and brushed, his hind end jumps up and down, and he will give a little growl of pure pleasure.    Frankie is house trained and can use a dog door. He sits at meal and treat time. He can speak on command. He currently lives with two 25 pound Terrier foster brothers who he could gobble up in one bite, but he has adjusted his play to their size like the good boy he is. Frankie loves all dogs and humans too! Frankie is available to be a good boy in your home today! Frankie has made the journey up from San Antonio, Texas and is being fostered in Denver, available to meet! Red Fern Animal Rescue offers a two week foster to adopt trial in your home before finalizing the adoption to ensure the animal is the right fit for you, everyone in the home, human & animal, and vice versa. Red Fern Animal Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit foster-based animal rescue in Denver that saves animals from abandonment and neglect in South Texas for new lives in Colorado. We primarily rescue dogs off the streets and from kill shelters in San Antonio. ##2070193##

Story
Adoption Fee: $475 When available, all animals are fixed in accordance with Colorado law, up to date on vaccines (may need boosters), and microchipped! What we know: 1 year old female transferred from Second Chance Dog Rescue (TX). This dog was previously owned by one of our rescue contacts who, due to recent life changes, made the difficult decision to surrender her. She has been well cared for and is described as very loved. From the foster: Zyla will make you wonder how you ever lived without her. She is still getting acquainted with her new surroundings. She has only been with a foster for a few days. Her whole world was turned upside down from the only owner she has ever known, who loved her dearly. She is constantly investigating new sites and sounds. She is shy when she meets new people, but a few scratches on her head she’ll look up and smile. Zyla is an observer, she watches people, other dogs & deer from the window but never barks. Zyla will gently rest her head on your lap & use those golden eyes to ask politely to be petted. She is a cuddler and likes giving kisses. You know it’s cuddle time by hopping right on the couch. If you’re looking for a loyal shadow with a heart of gold and endless love to give, Zyla is your gal. Zyla is well behaved indoors. She is completely Potty-trained. She loves taking leisurely strolls in the neighborhood. Walks very well on a leash. She did not crate sleep as she sleeps perfectly fine in our room. She has not felt comfortable in a crate. Zyla likes sitting in her own bed when she needs a little downtime, chewing on a bully-stick. She gets along well with other dogs she mets. Zyla a truly exceptional, loving dog looking for a forever home. www.coloradopuppy.org/how-to-adopt

Story
Hello Everybody! My name is Mika (mee-kuh). I’m a Dalmatian mix, and a little bit bigger girl (because I am tall), but I only weigh about 55-57 pounds. I could stand to lose another couple of pounds, but the food is good here and we have yummy treats! I’m not telling, but I am probably mixed with either a larger hound or something like a Great Pyrenees because I have dewclaws on my back feet and a tiny bit of an undercoat. I am getting along well with my foster sisters and with a boy dog that was fostering with me for a while. I am kind of bold, and a bit rowdy, when meeting new dogs, so slow introductions will be required. Once I learn to trust you, I will play with you all day. I do like to set the rules among the four-leggeds, so I have some opinions about sharing the water bowl, guarding my space, and occasionally wanting to keep my bone or my person to myself. I won’t get too upset though if you just understand my rules. My foster Mom is working on this with me. I do great hanging around the food bin while Mom gets our dinner, and I am very considerate when the treats are being doled out, but my new parents need to continue working on this resource guarding thing with me. I have not been around cats or kids, but I do very well leaving the resident house bunnies alone (well, except to eat the bunny berries. Those guys are like regular treat dispensers, it’s kinda cool!). I love to be with my person, and I follow her everywhere. Sometimes I climb in her lap or jump on her, but I am working on that. I am also a very good girl and can stay in my own room even when Mom leaves the house, but I do well lounging in my crate when I have to. I have very good potty habits although I did do a little submissive peeing when I first got here because I was scared about being in a new place. I haven’t done that in a long time though. I would love a home where I am either an only dog or have one or two more submissive buddies. I do love to play, so a play buddy would be nice. I don’t think I would like the dog park. Please contact my foster mom Tara @ spotteddogs91@hotmail.com or our friend Ms. Tena at tjp@mygrande.net and ask more about me. I am so looking forward to my new forever home! Mika is located in Live Oak (San Antonio), TX. Adopter must pick up. She is spayed, HW Neg, and current on vaccinations. Adoption fee $350.00 Applications may be submitted at www.dalmatianrescueco.org   If interested in this dog, please go to www.dalmatianrescueco.org and submit an application for adoption. Under Adoptions, please read our adoption policy.  We must have an application before we can begin the adoption process and each dog does have foster contact listed. October 18, 2024, 8:46 am

Story
Pippin needs a new home. He’s a beautiful boy, 7 years old, well-behaved, vaccinated, crate-trained, leash-trained, and neutered. He has some anxiety and can be nippy with a bit of resource guarding which can be attributed to his anxiety. However, he is truly a wonderful dog despite these quirks. His owners started having children and small children contribute to his anxiety. Pippin is looking for a new home as his owners are now having their second child in a few weeks. As a near-senior dog, he does not adjust easily to changes in his world. He enjoys walks and cuddles. Pippin would do best in a home where he could be the only dog with older (teen-aged) children. Currently located in Longmont. For more information, please contact  jeannine@dalmatianrescueco.org . Suggested adoption donation: $350.   If interested in this dog, please go to  www.dalmatianrescueco.org  and submit an application for adoption. Under Adoptions, please read our adoption policy.  We must have an application before we can begin the adoption process and each dog does have foster contact listed. January 30, 2026, 12:05 pm

Story
Lance is a beautiful male Dalmatian who has been somewhat overlooked in the last couple of years. Dumped near Dallas, TX, he was un-mannered and very strong. As with most strays, he was nervous and a little difficult to manage when first meeting new dogs. Since he was neutered and moved into a loving foster home, Lance has learned to get along with lots of other dogs. His foster/trainer has worked very hard to teach Lance some manners and will be available to work with Lance's new family to insure an easy transition. Cats are unknown. Older children are recommended because of Lance's size and strength. He would be a great running companion. Lance is located in Colorado Springs, and his recommended adoption donation is $350.   Contact jeannine@dalmatianrescueco.org.   If interested in this dog, please go to www.dalmatianrescueco.org and submit an application for adoption. Under Adoptions, please read our adoption policy.  We must have an application before we can begin the adoption process and each dog does have foster contact listed. September 10, 2025, 3:04 pm

Story
Jose is an incredibly sweet boy with a gentle, shy nature. He may hide at first around new people, so slow, patient introductions are key. Once he gets to know you, he is all about cuddles — he loves snuggling on the couch or curling up right on your lap, often drifting off to sleep beside his favorite humans. Jose can get anxious when left alone, so he’s continuing to work on separation skills and crate training, and he’s making great progress. He would thrive in a home with a confident canine companion to help him feel safe and show him the world isn’t so scary. Potty training is still in progress. He’s currently pad trained, and as he finishes his vaccinations, he’ll be ready to fully learn outdoor potty routines. Jose can be a little nervous while eating, so providing a quiet, safe spot helps him relax and enjoy his meals. He’s playful, friendly, and shows no aggression — just the typical fun-loving puppy energy! He enjoys watching YouTube Dog TV and taking cozy naps. With patience and love, Jose warms up to people quickly and will be a loyal, affectionate companion for life. ##2631446##

Story
JOLENE is a beautiful girl of about 9 weeks. She is a great girl who is curious and beautiful. She is learning potty manners and loves to play. Shy at first she will require leash training and would excel in a house with other trained dogs. She has not had exposure to cats but we do not see that as an issue if the adopter is going to pay attention and train a puppy. She is a gem. Her mother is a gorgeous pointer. We know this litter of 6 pups will excel in a loving and training environment as they are easy, social and sweet.  ##2631448##

Story
Jessie is a handsome pointer boy with a heart full of love and a curious, eager-to-please nature. He can be a little shy at first as he learns about the world, but once he warms up, his playful, affectionate personality shines through. He would do wonderfully in a home with another well-trained dog to guide him and help him feel confident. Having a steady canine companion will help him continue to grow into the best version of himself. Jessie is expected to be around 50 pounds full grown and is up to date on all vaccinations and already neutered — ready to join his forever family! Active and athletic, Jessie would make an excellent hiking, walking, or running partner. He’s looking for a patient, loving home that will invest in his training, socialization, and daily enrichment. With the right guidance and a loving family, Jessie will become a loyal, adventurous companion who’s always ready to share love and adventure. ##2631447##
