Celine is still adjusting to crate training, and a patient family providing continued guidance will help her become the perfect companion. Meet Henry, an eye-catching 3-year old, 48-pound Dalmatian who is a professional good boy and amateur couch ornament. Still coming out of his shell, this spotted beauty is just now discovering that toys exist and people give you snacks just for being adorable. And Henry’s thinking, wow, what a life! Henry greets the world with gentle curiosity. He gets along beautifully with other dogs, kids, and humans - - basically anything with a heartbeat and two hands capable of petting him. He loves his walks and confidently struts down the street with such style and flair, that strangers stop and stare. When he’s not out exploring, Henry is a Grade-A couch potato at home, capable of elite laziness and Olympic-level lounging. If being horizontal were a career, Henry would make partner! Affectionate to the max, being pet is Henry’s favorite pastime, and he will happily sit next to you for as long as your arm can keep moving. Toys remain a bit of a mystery - - he’s trying, he’s thinking about it, but he hasn’t fully cracked the code yet. Treats, however? Treats make sense. Treats are a universal language and Henry is basically fluent! Henry is housebroken, he has great leash manners, he doesn’t bark much, and he sheds less than you’d expect from a dog covered in loads of polka dots. He might pick up an item to chew on out of curiosity, but he’s much too well-behaved to damage anything. He shares his possessions graciously, rides nicely in a car, allows all manner of handling, and doesn’t ever complain about anything. Henry is still learning basic commands, but he’s attentive, smart, and as eager to please. And sooooo easy-going! Henry’s potential is abundantly clear. Even during this gentle transition, his affection shines through. Henry is ready to be someone’s silly, sweet, loyal companion …a dog who loves a good walk but loves a good snuggle even more. He’s a low-energy guy who enjoys relaxed sniffy walks and then settling in for some quality couch time with his people. Spade’s favorite thing in the world is being with his family—wagging his tail and soaking up the company. He is fully potty trained, crate trained, and happily sleeps in his crate at night. He also does well with other dogs, making him a great fit for a home with canine friends. If you’re looking for a loyal companion to join you on long walks and then unwind together at home, Spade might be your perfect match. 💙 He is currently being fostered in Staten Island. Otis is a beautiful, sweet, healthy 6-year old German Shorthaired Pointer. He is a purebread and has papers from the American Kennel Association. We have owned Otis since he was 5 months old. Otis is affectionate, loves kids, and is a great watchdog with a fantastic howl. He loves to be walked and to run in wide open spaces. GSPs are hunting dogs and Otis loves to chase down rabbits, chipmonks and the like. While Otis is a wonderful dog, he has some behavioral challenges. He does not do well with other dogs including our own, 2 years older. We think as an "only child" he would thrive. The best owner for Otis should be okay with not going to dog parks and keeping him on-leash. This person should be experienced with big dogs, prepared to have a strong hand, and looking for a loving and loyal companion. We are incredibly sad give Otis up, but think it is what's best for him. We are hoping Otis is adopted by a loving family who will make him feel as special as he deserves.
