ALL our cats and dogs are in the NY area but can be adopted out of state to the purrfect furever home.  In some cases, we can help transport.  Zani's al fresco Summer Adoptions  follow us on FB to find us this summer as we will try new locations to meet the needs of NYC and support the little stores:)     3m old 20lbs  Jolly from Arkansas loves to be held and petted..She was found at a park by the river. She's so loving and sweet.     All dogs are located in NY/NJ areaAll our puppies need puppy play dates/doggy facetime so we recommend homes with other pups or daily interactions to keep them tired out, happy and social.     Facebook: Zani's Furry Friends ZFF (weekly adoption event info posted there)Twitter: zanisff Instagram: zanisfurryfriends   Dogs are spayed/neutered, UTD on age appropriate vaccines, Rabies vaxed, and microchipped (not Lyme vaxed but we seriously recommend it!)  All are in the NY/NJ area but we will adopt out of state to the purrfect home and in some cases, we can arrange transport.  Please go to our site  https://zanisfurryfriends.org  fill out an application  Many of us (cats/dogs) will be on display on Saturdays or Sundays, weather dependent--please ask by writing us at dogs@zanisfurryfriends.org and following us on FB. If you are seriously interested in adopting one of us in particular, please fill out an application early Friday so that we can be sure to be there. Otherwise we decide based on other variables. Usually we are in our foster homes so this is a bit more stressful and a slightly artificial environment but we do want to be seen and find our furever homes too.   Please consider providing a home for more than one dog, especially if you are considering adopting a puppy. Dogs are pack animals and very much enjoy as well as need other dog company to learn to play, socialize and be good companion animals to people. The upside to this is that you won't feel as guilty leaving them alone and you get twice the love. Please come! And if you can't adopt, maybe you can foster or volunteer, and you can always donate! If you want to know about cats/dogs specifically being shown at our adoption locations, please email us info@zanisfurryfriends.org closer to the date so we know your interest and will make every effort to have that pet at the event or let you know how and where you can meet.  It is extemely helpful and speeds up adoption if the application is filled out prior to visiting us so please do that before coming to our weekend events. Our weekend locations are: Saturdays or Sundays, weather dependent  Follow us on FB, Zani's Furry Friends ZFF, for latest updates. Usually we are in our foster homes so all this is a bit more stressful but we do want to be seen and find our furever homes. Please come! Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Say hello to Tulsa, a lovable 1.5-year-old, 40-lb Australian Kelpie mix who's ready to find her forever family! Tulsa is the definition of a well-rounded, affectionate, and adaptable companion. Tulsa is living the dream with her foster family, which includes a 1-year-old baby (who adores feeding her by hand), a 13-year-old cat, an 85-lb male pit mix, a smaller one-eyed doggy sibling, her foster mom, and her foster dad. Tulsa coexists happily with everyone in an apartment—no separations needed! Did we mention Tulsa is phenomenal with children? She's gentle, patient, and loves being part of a family. Tulsa gets along wonderfully with other dogs, both on- and off-leash, and even respects her feline roommate. Plus, she's super affectionate: She adores belly rubs, gives her paw for treats (sometimes both paws!), and is happiest when she's by your side. While she sleeps peacefully through the night without needing cuddles, she’s always eager for hugs during the day! Tulsa is an energetic pup, and loves running, going for walks, and playing fetch (squeaky balls are a plus!), though she’s still on the hunt for her favorite toy. She’s also a great running partner! She would be an ideal pet for an active home. She’s housebroken, crate-trained, and doesn’t chew on shoes, furniture, or baby toys. Like most dogs, she might sneak a bite of unattended food, but her manners are otherwise impeccable. Tulsa is still fine-tuning her leash skills and seems to do best with a harness, but she's happy to walk with anyone. She rarely barks—maybe twice a week when she’s super excited—and is an all-around quiet and calm pup. Tulsa is the ultimate family dog or the perfect match for an individual looking for an affectionate, energetic, and loyal companion. If you’re looking for a loving, gentle, and playful pup to complete your family, Tulsa is the one for you! Tulsa is currently being fostered in Long Island City. Her adoption fee is $500. To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals. For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible. We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.

Story
Meet Lily! This 6 month old purebred Dalmatian puppy was too much energy for her former owners who were accustomed to smaller breed dogs. Dalmatians are an athletic breed who need exercise and training and an outlet for their high energy. She's a sweetheart who has done well meeting other dogs and wants to jump up to give hugs and kisses. She loves doing zoomies around a fenced yard to stretch her long legs and playing with other active dogs. Lily is looking for a home educated on the needs of the breed and with the time to put into training and exercising her so she can be the best little spotted dog she can be. She's almost 50lbs and still has some growing to do, has been spayed and updated on shots. Please submit an application to meet Lily. Primary Color: White Secondary Color: Black Age: 0yrs 6mths 1wks

Story
Tilly is a super sweetheart of a dog! Her foster family had nothing but nice things to say about her! She`s a BIG fan of soft beds and likes to sprawl on them. She`ll rest her chin in your hands or on anything available. She adores head rubs and ear scratches, loves toys, bones and balls that can be rolled to her. She can be a little shy but has so much more confidence when with another dog. She loves to play with them and it`s a great energy outlet for her. Come meet this amazing, sweet girl in our Madison location today!
