He is currently looking for a new home because his owner is no longer able to provide the care he needs and wants Kobe to have the opportunity to find another loving family. According to his owner, Kobe has been a great companion and a very good boy. He's a relaxed dog who doesn't need to be constantly entertained. He's perfectly happy lounging around the house with his people, but he's also ready to head outside when it's time for a walk or some fun. Kobe especially enjoys going to the dog park and playing with other dogs. He is reported to get along very well with dogs and is also great with children. Inside the home, Kobe already has some wonderful manners. He is house trained and communicates when he needs to go outside, giving his family plenty of warning before he has an accident. His owner reports that Kobe rarely barks at home and does not have a habit of chewing furniture. There is one funny exception: paper napkins should probably stay out of reach. Those apparently remain irresistible to Kobe. As a Doberman/German Shepherd mix, Kobe may share characteristics commonly associated with both breeds, including intelligence, loyalty, attentiveness, athleticism, and strong bonds with their families. At six years old, however, Kobe's individual personality is already well established. His owner describes a dog who has learned how to live comfortably as part of a household and enjoys a nice balance of relaxation, walks, social time, and companionship. Training, Adjustment & What to Expect One of Kobe's biggest advantages is that he already has experience living as a family companion. According to his current owner, Kobe is: âï¸ House trained âï¸ Good about signaling when he needs to go outside âï¸ Relaxed inside the home âï¸ Accustomed to regular walks âï¸ Social and playful with other dogs âï¸ Great with children âï¸ Generally quiet at home âï¸ Not known for chewing furniture Even with these established habits, Kobe will still need an adjustment period when he moves into a new home. His new family should give him time to become familiar with new people, surroundings, expectations, and routines. Existing training should continue to be reinforced through patience, consistency, structure, and positive reinforcement. A major change at six years old can take time, and Kobe should be allowed to adjust at his own pace. Owner Responsibilities & Veterinary Care Kobe is neutered and up to date on his vaccinations. His new family should continue providing routine veterinary wellness examinations, recommended vaccine boosters, flea/tick/heartworm and parasite prevention, dental care, quality nutrition, healthy weight management, grooming and nail care, appropriate daily exercise, and veterinary treatment whenever necessary. At six years old, maintaining a healthy weight, appropriate exercise routine, and regular veterinary care will become increasingly important as Kobe approaches his senior years. Any available medical and vaccination records should be transferred to his new family and reviewed with their veterinarian.
