Story
Georgia is a very sweet puppy that loves to play. She loves to chew on her toys and can keep herself occupied. She is energetic but also loves to snuggle with her person. She is definitely a leader but plays very well with other dogs. She learns very quickly and figures out routines very quickly as well. She is hesitant on a leash but with consistent training, she will be a fun dog to take out. She accommodates very easily and would be fine as a single dog but also do great with other dogs in the home. She would be a playful pup with children in the home as well. Georgia is from the Retirement Litter: doberman/ridgeback/hound (best guess) mix puppies 15-16 weeks old They are ready for their forever homes and can’t wait to bond with you! These pups are expected to be on the larger side when full grown (perhaps around 75-80 lbs) $375 adoption donation - vetted, up to date on age appropriate shots, dewormed, fecal tested/treated, flea tick treated & available w spay agreement addendum by/before 6 months. They are all microchipped with lifetime registry. Ideal home will: Have the time to commit to all things puppy! Please note puppies do not do well left alone long hours and need to be let out every 2-3 hours for potty. Long work schedule where the puppy would be left alone for 7+ hours can be difficult on most puppies and young dogs. Solid plans for puppy socialization, positive exposure and continued training + relationship building -- commitment not just to puppyhood but to a lifetime of love, care, companionship and vetting. HFP advocates for Positive Reinforcement only for young puppies and training that focuses less on "obedience" and more on confidence building, relationship building and consent training. Preference to homes w/ friendly & well-trained dog role models (preference, NOT required) Preference to homes w/ yards (preferred, NOT required) Why? Puppies cannot go in public until they are 4 month old and complete their puppy shot series. Having a yard during this time greatly helps with play, potty training, and providing an outlet for your puppy to get outside. There are ways to work around this if you do live in an apartment setting but it takes some extra work and planning! Interested in adopting? 1. Please complete our online form at heartsforpawsrescue.com/adoption-application 2. We will respond in 1-3 days for a call! 3. If it sounds like a potential match for you and the dog of interest, we will promptly set up a meet and greet at the foster home Please note we are a foster-based rescue meaning our dogs are in individual foster homes throughout sac and the bay. For this reason we may only be able to schedule meets for one dog at a time (or litter). The average timeline between app submission and a meet and greet is 3-5 days. Please only submit an application for a specific dog if you are ready to adopt that animal within a week's time. Follow facebook.com/heartsforpawsrescue & Instagram @heartsforpawsrescue for more! Story
Daenerys “Dani” is a 9-month-old German Shepherd Doberman mix, un-spayed and she needs a forever home that may have large dogs but no small dogs and probably no cats. We rescued Daenerys at 5 months old, her birthday is May 16th, 2023. The family was moving out of state and couldn’t take her. She is a very loving and affectionate dog. Well trained at Folsom Dog Academy. She is potty trained and uses a dog door when available. She is very sociable and plays well with other dogs. They offered up to 4 free training sessions for her new forever family. She enjoys running with you on bike rides and walks well on lease and off. We had hoped she would integrate well with our pack of dachshunds, but she is so much larger and being a puppy doesn’t realize her own strength. We want to make sure she has a good home and a family that will love her and take good care of her. We are heartbroken about rehoming her but it's simply what needs to happen to give her opportunity to thrive.

Story
Zorro is a handsome, 85 plus-pound, young Doberman (estimated DOB 12/22). He would love a home with an active family (older or no kids) who aren't gone for long periods. Ideal family would have breed experience, who are committed to continue his training, with a yard and a friendly dog buddy to play with. Zorro came to the rescue emaciated, malnourished, with parvo and a damaged eye which had to be removed. He has made an amazing recovery and has turned into a sweet, goofy, energetic boy who is learning how to be part of a family and a pack. Zorro is learning to walk politely on a power loop (halti style) leash. Despite his size he is a polite walking partner. That said he would need a good yard with a secure fence to romp in. And preferably a dog that is fun and playful as well as a good match for his size. He was curious about the cats in his foster home, but will chase if they run. He is doing well with not jumping up on people but small children would not be ideal. Zorro is excelling at working on basic training. He is smart and picking up things quickly. He is potty trained with a good, consistent schedule. He crates well. Zorro wish list 1. Yard with solid fencing. No apartments 2. Obedience training continued. 3. Active family. Daily walks and exercise 4. Another young well balanced playful dog 5. Experience with large powerful breeds preferred. Please email right away if you would like to learn more about this dog......and visit our website www.siarescuers.org to learn more about our rescue group. Adoption fees range from $350-$475 for dogs. THE DOGS SHOWN ON THE SITE ARE IN FOSTERCARE - WE DO NOT HAVE A SHELTER TO VISIT. EMAIL is the best way to reach us. We are a volunteer run, very small organization - so please be patient when waiting for a response, but feel free to check back in if you haven't heard from us in a day or so - thank you so much for considering a rescued pooch!

Story
Hi, I'm Ava! I landed in this shelter due to a magical mishap. You see, I was playing in a field when I found a peculiar stone. I pawed it and 'whoosh!' I was teleported here. Quite an adventure, huh? I'm energetic, love to play, and a bit of a goofball. I'm also brave and smart, you know. I've used my wit to cheer up my fellow shelter pals. I dream of a family who loves my zest for life as much as I do. I don't love certain types of handling, so any children in my new home should be 10 or older. I like some dogs more than others, so the shelter is providing a dog introduction with any resident dogs. My friends in the behavior department will provide a consult to discuss my individual needs. Adopt me, and I promise to sprinkle your life with magic, laughter, and endless games of fetch!Adoption fee: $200
