Story
Billie is a 2 year old, large lady at 80 pounds! Billie spent some time in a foster home so we can get to know her a little better! Billie like many Dobermans is a velcro dog and would love to stay right next to you. Her foster mom has said that she does well when she is left home alone and will sleep on her bed. Billie enjoys stealing socks, riding in the car, chasing tennis balls, and being able to have space to run! Billie is eager to learn and very treat motivated (which always helps).Billie has spent some time in foster with both dogs and cats. She prefers dogs that are her size and may do well with slow introductions. She would do best in a home with teens and adults. If you are interested in this specific animal, please come to the shelter for walk-in adoptions Tuesday through Saturday from 10:30am to 5:30pm. We recommend coming in as early as possible, as adoptions are first-come, first-serve.

Story
Maxx is a purebred European Doberman. He is energetic but very well disciplined for a puppy. He needs the time and room to exercise daily by running, a simple 20 minute walk will not meet his exercise needs. Capable of advanced and protection training if desired. He is great with kids as there is a toddler currently in the home that he allows to climb all over him without issue! He simply needs a new home that has the time and room to commit to his physical demands.

To get more information about Florence and Hearts for Paws, go to: https://www.heartsforpawsrescue.com/219873/2024/2/18/florence Florence is a gentle soul, who loves to cuddle and play with her humans and dog friends. She’s in a foster home with children, 2 dogs, a rabbit and has also been tested with cats. She’s very gentle with children, and loves to snuggle up and have pets but would do best in a home with respectful children 10 years or older because of her larger breed size and gentle demeanor. Florence is still a pup and would do best in a home with a confident, friendly dog who would like a playful companion. Tug of war is her favorite, as well as playing with squeaker toys and sticks. She’s crate trained and will go in her crate when she’s tired, or feeling nervous. She also uses a bell when she wants to go outside. Florence would thrive in a home that has a flexible work schedule and time to continue her training. She’s treat motivated, leashed trained and learning all about new objects, sounds and smells. She loves to explore her surroundings and is curious and alert when outside. Her foster mom is running with her and she will probably be a very good hiking companion when she gets older. Florence is looking for a wonderful owner who will continue to help build her confidence! Florence is currently being fostered in Sacramento, CA Estimated DOB: 10/22/2023 $375 adoption donation - vetted, up to date on age appropriate shots, dewormed, fecal tested/treated, flea tick treated & available w spay agreement addendum by/before 6 months. They are all microchipped with lifetime registry. Ideal home will: Have the time to commit to all things puppy! Please note puppies do not do well left alone long hours and need to be let out every 2-3 hours for potty. Long work schedule where the puppy would be left alone for 7+ hours can be difficult on most puppies and young dogs. Solid plans for puppy socialization, positive exposure and continued training + relationship building -- commitment not just to puppyhood but to a lifetime of love, care, companionship and vetting. HFP advocates for Positive Reinforcement only for young puppies and training that focuses less on "obedience" and more on confidence building, relationship building and consent training. Preference to homes w/ friendly & well-trained dog role models (preference, NOT required) Interested in adopting? 1. Please complete our online form at heartsforpawsrescue.com/adoption-application 2. We will respond in 1-3 days for a call! 3. If it sounds like a potential match for you and the dog of interest, we will promptly set up a meet and greet at the foster home Please note we are a foster-based rescue meaning our dogs are in individual foster homes throughout sac and the bay. For this reason we may only be able to schedule meets for one dog at a time (or litter). The average timeline between app submission and a meet and greet is 3-5 days. Please only submit an application for a specific dog if you are ready to adopt that animal within a week's time. Follow facebook.com/heartsforpawsrescue & Instagram @heartsforpawsrescue for more! Story
Zorro is a handsome, 85 plus-pound, young Doberman (estimated DOB 12/22). He would love a home with an active family (older or no kids) who aren't gone for long periods. Ideal family would have breed experience, who are committed to continue his training, with a yard and a friendly dog buddy to play with. Zorro came to the rescue emaciated, malnourished, with parvo and a damaged eye which had to be removed. He has made an amazing recovery and has turned into a sweet, goofy, energetic boy who is learning how to be part of a family and a pack. Zorro is learning to walk politely on a power loop (halti style) leash. Despite his size he is a polite walking partner. That said he would need a good yard with a secure fence to romp in. And preferably a dog that is fun and playful as well as a good match for his size. He was curious about the cats in his foster home, but will chase if they run. He is doing well with not jumping up on people but small children would not be ideal. Zorro is excelling at working on basic training. He is smart and picking up things quickly. He is potty trained with a good, consistent schedule. He crates well. Zorro wish list 1. Yard with solid fencing. No apartments 2. Obedience training continued. 3. Active family. Daily walks and exercise 4. Another young well balanced playful dog 5. Experience with large powerful breeds preferred. Please email right away if you would like to learn more about this dog......and visit our website www.siarescuers.org to learn more about our rescue group. Adoption fees range from $350-$475 for dogs. THE DOGS SHOWN ON THE SITE ARE IN FOSTERCARE - WE DO NOT HAVE A SHELTER TO VISIT. EMAIL is the best way to reach us. We are a volunteer run, very small organization - so please be patient when waiting for a response, but feel free to check back in if you haven't heard from us in a day or so - thank you so much for considering a rescued pooch!
