My name is Twiggy, but my foster mom also calls me Love, Lovie, Baby, Sweetie, Couch Potato and sometimes “Big Old Lug” when I’m taking up her side of the bed at night (how rude!). My likes? I love zoomies in the backyard, snoozing in chairs and car rides. Oh, I also love dogs and people, and snuggling … lots and lots of snuggling. My dislikes? I really don’t like loud trucks, not really fond of lots of traffic, and I don’t like anyone stealing my toys. I’m a 6-year-old Doberman Pincher mix. I’m a fun-loving, big, curvy girl (how dare you ask my weight, but I’m about 70 lbs.!). I’m looking for a long-term relationship. I’ve done the short-term foster thing and, no knock on it, but I really am just looking for a genuine connection with someone who thinks it’s OK for me to snore in their ear at night. I’ve been through board-and-train, so I’m an educated gal. Must haves for my new relationship: a yard with a fence so I can run around and chase squirrels and bunnies; patience with me on a leash (I listen, but have a short attention span); no young kids. It’s not that I don’t like them or can’t be around them. I can! But they’re small and sometimes get in my way. Plus, I don’t really understand personal space, so I don’t want to hurt them. I got Jewel when she was 4 years old in Paris, IL. She used to love going for hikes before she slowed down, she’s done 3 14ers! Now it’s mainly neighborhood walks for her and she’s very food motivated. She’s a bit of a beggar and will get into trash if you’re not careful. She is unknown around children just because if she were to be touched or pulled at in a way she doesn't like, she may react negatively and snap. She definitely needs to be respected on her terms or else she may still react negatively. She really doesn’t play much or do much. I recently got diagnosed with AuDHD and OCD and having a dog has been very hard for me to manage and feel like I’m giving her the best care. Thank you for considering her.

Ive had her for six years. Unfortunately she does much better with someone who is home more often, preferably someone that works from home. Is on a few medications for anxiety and gastrointestinal issues. Good with kids but they do make her more anxious. She is house trained and knows basic commands. Generally is a chill dog when inside, but loves being outdoors and exploring. As long as someone is home with her most of the time she will be a great dog.

Camila, is such a sweet, affectionate girl with so much love to give. More than anything, she wants to be close to her people. She’s a little Velcro pup who will happily follow you around, curl up next to you on the couch, and soak up every belly rub, ear scratch, and snuggle she can get. Cami is also excited about life and loves to have fun! She LOVES playing with all of her foster siblings and looks forward to her daily walks. I sure Cami would make an excellent running partner as well. She’s incredibly inquisitive and enjoys exploring new places and investigating all the interesting sights, sounds, and smells around her. She may approach something unfamiliar with a little uncertainty at first, but it usually doesn’t take long before her curiosity takes over. Having other dogs around has been wonderful for Camila. She enjoys their companionship, loves having playmates, and benefits from watching them show her the ropes. But as much as she loves her dog friends, her favorite thing is still knowing her person is nearby. Camila is smart, eager to please, and very treat motivated, which makes training fun! She already knows sit and is working on down. Sometimes her excitement gets the best of her and she wants to greet you with a jump, so her foster family is helping her learn that four paws on the floor is the better way to say hello. She’s also doing wonderfully with her home routine. Cami is potty trained, uses the dog door, and sleeps peacefully in her kennel all night until about 6 a.m. After a day of playing, walking, and exploring, she’s more than happy to settle onto the couch for some serious cuddle time. Cami is not reactive, but she may bark when she first sees someone she doesn’t know. It’s simply her way of saying, “Give me a minute to figure out who you are.” Once she has a chance to check you out and realizes everything is okay, she quickly comes in for affection. Every day, Cami is learning more, gaining confidence, and discovering that the world can be a pretty wonderful place. She has such a gentle, loving spirit and is looking for a family who will continue helping her experience all the good things life has to offer.
