Story
Tobi is a sweet three year old neutered boy. He is loving, goofy, and pretty smart. He's house-trained, walks on a leash, and knows basic commands (sit, lay down, stay, shake). He does okay with kids in the house, though I think he'd be happier without them. He's protective and anxious. I've worked with him as best I can for over a year and just don't have the time to give him the training he really needs. He would shine with a job to keep him active and engaged, or at least a huge yard to run around. He would be fine in a home with another dog or dogs, but he is reactive to other dogs when he's on a leash. No medical issues (except anxiety). All shots current and full medical records for the time we've had him. Microchipped. He's definitely part German Shepherd (those ears!). The rest is unknown. Doberman? Lab? Pittie? Don't know. Adoption fee is negotiable. We just want him in a perfect home.

Story
Loretta had a rough start in life, spending most of her days confined to a crate alongside her siblings. When she first came to us, she was terrified of nearly everything and didn’t even know how to play with toys. But in a short amount of time, this sweet girl has made incredible progress. Loretta now loves playing in the yard with her doggie siblings. She’s respectful of cats, curious about chickens, and happiest when she’s near her people. During the workday, you’ll usually find her lounging quietly under my desk, and in the evenings she loves cuddling up on the couch. She’s doing wonderfully on leash and is learning how to stay calm when passing barking neighborhood dogs. Loretta already knows how to sit and patiently wait for her food, and she takes treats ever so gently. She sleeps beautifully through the night and has even mastered the occasional lazy weekend sleep-in with us. She is also potty-trained. While crates are still hard for her (understandably), she sleeps peacefully in her own dog bed next to ours. She’s past the puppy chewing phase, and although she may cry briefly when left alone, she settles down quickly with her doggie siblings nearby. We believe Loretta would thrive in a home with another confident dog who can continue showing her the ropes. She’s still shy around men, but with patience, kindness, and plenty of treats, she’s learning that men can be safe and loving. Loretta is such a special girl with so much love to give. She just needs a patient family willing to continue helping her blossom into the confident, happy dog she’s becoming. Put in an application at eapl.com Her adoption fee is $375 June 8, 2026, 10:37 pm

Story
Update! Tia was taken on a hike and she's a great hiker! 10/10 would recommend! ***Tia is in boarding and needs a foster home immediately!*** Can you say EARS? This incredibly SWEET girl was found dumped in a neighborhood park in a suburb of San Antonio. She was clearly waiting for her family to come back and didn't want to leave the park but with a little coaxing, she found safety with a local rescuer there. When people meet Tia, the first word they use to describe her is SWEETHEART! She loves everyone and everything! She especially loves other dogs and playing with them but also loves to cuddle with her human. Tia also loves young children and lived with one in her foster home in Texas. She is smart, willing to learn, and ready for a new family to call her own. She would be the perfect adventure buddy for a family in Colorado or even as someone's first dog.  Tia is 54 lbs, spayed, microchipped, tested negative for heartworm and tickborne illnesses, and fully vetted. Red Fern Animal Rescue offers a two week foster to adopt trial in your home before finalizing the adoption to ensure the animal is the right fit for you, everyone in the home, human & animal, and vice versa. Red Fern Animal Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit foster-based animal rescue in Denver that saves animals from abandonment and neglect in South Texas for new lives in Colorado. We primarily rescue dogs off the streets and the kill shelter in San Antonio. ##2739134##

Story
Sida Bay (9) and Scarlett (11) are a bonded pair of Doberman girls who recently lost the only family they've ever known when their beloved mom passed away. Even if you aren't familiar with the Dobie breed, these girls are so easy, gentle and sweet they will capture your heart. They do not need to be with someone who has breed experience - they are that good. These girls are truly something special. They are fully house-trained, respectful, easy to live with, and incredibly devoted to their people. They get along beautifully with other dogs, adore humans, and are happiest simply being close to those they love. They currently live with 2 other large dogs - a male and female and everyone is the best of friends! Their ideal day? A leisurely breakfast, a comfy bed, a sunny spot for a nap , and each other. Sida Bay, has a gorgeous red coat and is 106 pounds of loyalty, affection, and Doberman devotion.  Scarlett has a pretty blue/silver coat and is an 81-pound goofball with the gentlest soul you'll ever meet.  House-trained Great with other dogs Friendly, calm, and social Heartworm negative Bonded and deeply devoted to one another Scarlett has hypothyroidism, but it's easily managed with inexpensive medication—It is only $16 for a 90 day supply at Chewy. The rescue will happily cover that for the right home. And there's more good news: thanks to an amazing sponsor, their adoption fees have been fully paid! We know adopting two senior dogs may not be what most people picture when they start looking for a pet. But for the lucky family who gives these girls a chance, they'll gain two grateful hearts and the kind of companionship that only comes from dogs who know how precious a home truly is. Please help us find Sida Bay and Scarlett the soft landing they deserve.  Through all the confusion and change, they have stayed exactly who they've always been: sweet, gentle, loving companions.
