Story
Harlow is a gorgeous cropped and docked Doberman who adores her humans. She squints her eyes when looking up at her people and shows submission in all interactions with people. She is a prime example of the breed with strong maternal instincts.
Harlow wants to be included and with her humans, she sleeps deeply next to her foster mother but respects space and boundaries. She carries stuffed toys around and spends her day 'gathering' the babies and keeps one toy with her. Harlow is respectful of humans and will allow food, toys to be taken from her.
Her resource guarding of the 'babies' impacts her willingness to share toys with other dogs, will snap and growls at them resulting in bites. Outside during playgroups, away from toys, Harlow follows other dogs around and can be social. Harlow is not dog aggressive - ignores other dogs outside her foster home, on walks, at vet clinic and at events. Based on her intense protection of her things, being an only dog would be easiest but not necessary if a family is willing to use separation and supervision with other pets.
Harlow is microchipped, spayed, up to date on vaccines, heartworm testing negative and on prevention (ProHeart12, NexGard). Last weight - 74 lbs. Guessed to be 5 years old. She is ready to meet her forever home.

Harlow was first seen at BARC (Houston City Shelter) under the name Georgia. She was adopted and returned, placed on the euthanasia list when the shelter was full. Rescue discovered she was early in pregnancy at her spay (terminated) which caused guarding behavior. Her foster gave her time for hormones to adjust and for her to adapt to her environment, allowing her to see that other dogs were not a threat to her or allowed to hump her. Guessed to be 5 years old.
