Story
York will charm your socks off! He is a lover or all people. Instant Velco Doberman, cuddling, canoodling and leaning into people with tons of sweetness. York was found as a stray in California with another female Doberman. No one came to claim the dogs and the female Doberman was adopted out. York got to come to Agave Dogs Rescue. - Fenced yard please. No apartments. - Seeking an adopting home as an only dog or with another female dog similar to York's size. York has loved playing with female dogs 40 pounds and up. He tested with a male Doberman and did well but was not at all interested in the male and acted avoidant. If there is another dog in the home, we feel it would be best for it to be a female dog. He did meet a small dog and was able to go on a walk with the small dog however we think it's best if there are no small dogs in York's future home. - 75lbs and approximately 3 years old - Cropped ears, docked tail, blue color variety. He does have some alopecia (thinning fur) which can be typical for blue and fawn Dobermans. - No cats. We tested York with cats and he was able to leave the cat alone and avoided the cat when it swatted at him. But he did show interest in chasing the cat if it ran so we feel it would probably be best that we play it safe and say no cats. - Likely best with kids ages 10+ as we have not seen York reside with children - Crate trained and goes in the crate readily. Is quiet and clean in his crate. Sleeps through the night in his crate or out of the crate nicely. - Extremely smart and handler focused. Loves to train and is food motivated. Confident guy. - Medium energy guy who has a nice off switch and can relax in the home. He's a great napper and will snooze quietly while his foster mom works from home. - Walks pretty well on leash without too much pulling - Likes car rides, jumps right in, settles down for the ride and hasn't gotten car sick - Not one potty accident in foster - Stands perfectly for baths and will jump into even a raised tub York is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, heart worm tested negative, dewormed and current on flea/tick/heartworm prevention. His adoption fee includes a free wellness exam at one of our partner vet clinics in Oregon City, Milwaukie, Tualatin or Portland. $200 adoption fee Fostered in Hillsboro, Oregon Apply to adopt handsome York on our website: www.agavedogs.org

Story
HI - I'M HANNAH! I'm a 1-year-old Doberman Pinscher in need of a new home! I was rescued from a California shelter, where I was kenneled with another female dog. I do great with other dogs and I love, love, love human attention and affection. I would do best with an active single person, a couple or a family with older kids as I love to give hugs! I'm still a bit of a puppy - a little over a year old now - and would do great with someone who can take me for walks, hikes an other outings. I weigh about 53 lbs. Please email for an application.

MEET PHOENIX! This handsome 8-year-old Dobie-Rottie mix needs a home! He was rescued from a shelter where he was a shelter favorite, and is currently in the Los Angeles area.. He weighs approx. 80 lbs. Phoenix is still an active and loving guy and will do best with an active person or people who can get him plenty of exercise. He has many positive traits - he is affectionate (he loves to give hugs once he knows you!), he walks well on a leash, and he is a very loyal and sweet dog. He will be your best friend for life . Phoenix prefers to have his person or people around, and will howl just a little if he is lonely. But he is not a barker unless its warranted. He can be a bit protective of his people and his property, and as such, he is dog-reactive on a leash. Phoenix would thrive as an only dog, or at least as an only male dog. He would be a great companion for the right person who has experience with strong breeds and who understands the mindset and loyalty of a dog like Phoenix. Please email for an application.

Jolie is sponsored by The Walis's.Hi my name is Jolie and I am searching for my forever family!I am super smart and eager to learn. My ideal home would be with older children because I am so energetic. I do have good manners. I am not sure of cats, because I haven’t been around them, but I am very trainable.I have been adopted a few times and have unfortunately come back due to no fault of my own.I can get overwhelmed fast, so I need someone willing to take their time with me, as well as keep up proper training.I am currently hanging out with Marvin Pierce Dog Teacher and his team so you will need to schedule an appointment with the shelter to set up a meet & greet and come see me!If you are interested in meeting me, the shelter is open Tuesday through Saturday 11am – 5pm (winter hours). If you'd like to schedule an appointment, check out the pets' profile on our website at newberganimals.com to fill out an application and email to frontdesk@newberganimals.com.Due to COVID-19, we are currently only open by appointment. Please follow the instructions on each pet profile.

Story
Hi friends, I’m Keef! They tell me I’m a big doberman mix but my foster mom says I’m also part doofus, spaz, and maybe a little bit giraffe. I like to be sweet and have cuddles, but I also like to get outside and wander around eating grass and sniffing all the good things outside. I love to run, and I am so fast, like The Flash! But, even though I like to run around and explore, I also like to lay around and be with the family. I'm a goofball in the house, I hop up and down when it's mealtime, I get SO EXCITED! I like everyone. Even people that I’m frightened of, I still want to meet and be their friend. Sometimes, with new people, I shake a bit, but if they’re a little patient with me, and give me a second to adjust, we can be the best of friends. I’m sometimes scared of silly things, but when I get scared I don’t get mad or growly, I just look for a safe space. I don’t like when my foster mom and dad make me go in my crate because I would much rather be with them, but I am quiet in my crate, and I definitely like to have my crate available for when I feel uneasy or just want to chomp on my chewy. Even though I’m a big dude I still like all the snuggles, I’ll press my head into you when I want love. I especially love pets on my head, on my nose and around my ears. I like other dogs a lot, and I really like all the dogs in my foster home but they don’t seem to want to play with me, even though I’m always telling them how much I want to play with them. I’ve tried to get the cat to play, but she’s no fun either! I would love to find some friends to play with me. I like kids a lot, and I know I need to be more gentle with them. I can be silly sometimes, I don’t always know how to control my long legs and look kinda goofy. I know I have lots to learn about how to be a really good boy, like what things I should chew and how to be a good listener. I like food a lot, but when it comes to learning new things I don’t really care that much if you have treats. We just need to find our best way to communicate with each other. I would really love a home of my own, a family to go on adventures with and who will help me be the best me I can be!

Story
This is Jason Bourne and he is a 1 year old, 48 lb dobie/pointer mix. He has a beautiful soft black and tan coat. Jason has the sweetest disposition. He is a very confident boy that loves affection from humans! It takes him some time to warm up to new people but once he does he’s all yours! Jason has a very soft mouth and will sometimes jump but it’s more of a soft jump to receive affection. He loves to have his head and belly rubbed and will lean into you for affection. Jason is great on a leash and will not pull. He will walk right next to his handler. He will pull some when meeting a new dog but will not bark. Jason gets very excited when he meets new dogs but responds to correction well and will eventually settle down. He is crate trained as far as we can tell and would do best in a home with a fenced in yard where he can run and play and get out all his zoomies! This boy has LOTS of energy! His new family will need to work with him on continued training and socialization. Especially because he becomes excited when meeting new dogs and will try to pull to get to them. He would be an excellent hiking partner since he is does so well on a leash. The stray and animal overpopulation in the Greater Houston area is one of the highest in the nation. Statistics show that there are over 1 million homeless animals in this region alone! Three Little Pitties Rescue is a nonprofit dog and cat rescue that partners with the community to make a difference. Our mission is to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and saving all breeds of dogs and cats from the streets or animal shelters that oftentimes have no choice but to euthanize animals for space. We prepare them for adoption by properly vetting and providing individualized care through our incredible behavior program that consists of socialization and leash training for all animals that enter our adoption program prior to matching them with loving families who will treasure them for the rest of their lives. They are rescue dogs and will require continued training efforts once adopted, but will be well on their way to being the best dogs that they can be! Three Little Pitties Rescue will soon be celebrating our 5 year anniversary! Over the course of this time, we have been very fortunate for so much growth, allowing us to further connect with the community and save many lives. Through the combined efforts of all of our hardworking staff and volunteers, we have placed over 10,000 very lucky dogs and cats into amazing homes! By adopting from us, you save TWO lives! The pet you adopt, and you create an opportunity for another animal to be brought into our rescue program. Together, we can be heroes. Follow along on our rescue journeys through the links below! https://www.threelittlepittiesrescue.org/ https://www.facebook.com/threelittlepittiesrescue https://www.instagram.com/threelittlepittiesrescue *Due to the rising cost of fuel and transportation expenses, there will be an additional $42 surcharge.

I'm a young at 9mths old, curious gal who loves to explore. I've got a sweet side that'll melt your heart, and a goofy side that'll keep you laughing. I'm always up for a game of fetch or a fun puzzle to solve - I'm pretty smart, if I do say so myself! Energy? Oh, I've got plenty of that. Playtime is my favorite time, but I also love a good cuddle session. I'm looking for a forever home with someone who loves adventures as much as I do. Adopting me means endless fun, lots of laughs, and a loyal friend for life. I am learning about other dogs and how to understand there cues, I am doing great, I am learning several commands and the team says I am a very fast learner.
