Home is Jennie Jane favorite place... mostly because that's where all her favorite people are. She's the kind of dog that reminds you the best days don't have to be exciting. Sometimes they look like a lazy Sunday on the couch, a family movie night, a few extra hugs before bed, and everyone laughing because Jennie decided it was time for another howling duet. Her foster mom and her 12-year-old son both say one of their favorite things about Jennie is how incredibly snuggly she is. And if a siren happens to go by? Get ready. Jennie has a habit of singing right along with it. Better yet, if you start howling first, she'll happily join in. It's become one of those silly little traditions that always makes her foster family laugh. As with any rescue dog, her exact breed is always a mystery, but our best guess is she's a Doberman mix. Whatever combination created her also gave her a heart of gold, the sweetest snuggles, and some pretty impressive vocal talents. One of our favorite things about Jennie is that she truly knows how to relax. While some dogs are always looking for the next adventure, Jennie is perfectly content spending quality time at home with the people she loves most. Her foster describes her as having medium to low energy, and we think she'd happily choose a cozy evening on the couch over a busy day out just about every time. She doesn't need constant entertainment or endless activity to be happy. As long as she's with her people, she's exactly where she wants to be. Jennie is currently fostered in a home with a 12-year-old boy, and the two have become the sweetest little buddies. She absolutely adores cuddling with him and has shown what a wonderful companion she can be for respectful children. We think she'd do beautifully with a family that has kids who understand that sometimes the best way to earn Jennie's affection is simply to let her come to you. That same thoughtful personality carries over when she meets new people. Her foster family regularly hosts everything from holiday gatherings to Sunday football watch parties, and Jennie handles visitors beautifully. She'll happily greet everyone when they arrive, but she isn't the type that's immediately climbing into strangers' laps looking for attention. Instead, she'll say hello, quietly do her own thing, and then, once she's decided you're a friend, she'll wander over looking for pets and cuddles. Give her about an hour, and chances are you'll have a new best friend leaning against your leg. Jennie is also wonderful with other dogs. She's currently fostered with both a small male Dachshund mix and a larger male Pittie mix, and she gets along great with both of them. Like she does with people, she simply appreciates slow, respectful introductions. She's not a fan of dogs that rush into her space before she's had a chance to say hello, but once everyone's comfortable, she's an absolute blast to watch. Her foster says she's great at matching the other dog's play style. If her friends are in the mood for a rough-and-rowdy wrestling match, she's all in. Meet Yeager — a Doberman with zero buffering and unlimited energy Tall, athletic, funny, and painfully handsome. The perfect guy… if this were a Tinder profile. But it’s not — and he’s a lot more than that. Yeager is a complex guy, but also obliviously happy. You know that kind of happiness only reserved for those with absolutely nothing going on upstairs? Yeah… that! I mean… look at that gaze. There is NOTHING there. Processing? Minimal. Vibes? Chaotic. To be clear: Yeager is A LOT. Not “a little training needed.” Not “puppy energy.” We’re talking full-time project dog. ✔️ Dog social… selectively (great with females & smaller/meduim males) ✔️ Has done well with cats and older kids ✔️ Extremely happy, confident, and always ready to GO ⚠️ Reality check: • Potty trained… but won’t tell you and will absolutely have accidents • Will mark indoors • Does not understand (or respect) human correction • Learns patterns quickly… then uses that knowledge against you • Will outmaneuver your routine (especially when food is involved) • Rarely settles — especially around other animals (play is his full-time job) • Takes correction from other dogs… then forgets it happened 3 minutes later • Destroys beds, feeders, and anything not built for chaos • Eats fast, then immediately wants to sprint/jump (deep-chested breed awareness REQUIRED) Training status: He’s not untrainable, but he is not intuitive. Allow me to introduce myself, I’m Gemma, or as my foster family likes to call me, Gemma Dean String Bean. As soon as I got out to the country in wide open spaces and met my fur foster siblings (dogs), my personality really started to bloom and shine. I am shy with fur siblings at first but once I warm up to them you can’t get me to stop playing. I have endless energy. I would be best in a forever home that has a fur sibling for me to play and snuggle with. While I warm up to other dogs right away, I take a little longer with humans but don’t worry, I do warm up pretty fast and then you won’t be able to get me to stop wanting to play and snuggle with you, too. In this hot Texas summer I love to play in the water but be sure to let me go potty before I go inside because I’m still learning that I should only potty outside.
