MEET BLITZ, an 85-lb stunning Doberman male who is waiting for his forever home. Blitz is a large Dobie, almost 2 years old. He is a dark red, almost chocolate color and is magnificent in appearance. Blitz is currently in training in the Los Angeles area to overcome some fears and quirks he has had in the past. He is affectionate with people he knows but in the past was tense and suspicious with strangers, especially if he is in a confined space. He can also be a bit stubborn, though his training is helping tremendously. Blitz gets along great with other dogs-- he has previously lived happily with a female Doberman in his foster home. Because of his size and strength, a home without small children is mandatory. Blitz has high energy and would benefit from having a yard, where he can run and play. Blitz is also hypo-thyroid so is on inexpensive thyroid medication, which will likely be forever. We believe Blitz is of European ancestry and like all Euro-Dobies, he has heavier bones and a larger head than the more petite American Dobies. Blitz is without question a lot of dog! HI - I'M PHOENIX! I'm a handsome and healthy 10-year-old Rottie-Dobie mix in need of a foster or forever home. I lost my previous foster home due to no fault of mine, and I really miss having people around to snuggle and take me for walks and other outings. A little bit about me: I was rescued from a shelter a couple years ago, where I was a shelter favorite, and am currently waiting for someone to adopt me. I weigh about 80 lbs. Despite my age, I am active and I'm a very loving dog. I'll do well with an active person or people who can take me for walks and hikes. I have many positive traits - I am affectionate, I walk well on a leash, and I am a loyal and sweet dog. I will be your best friend for life. I also prefer to have my person or people around, but that can be expected of most dogs! I am not a barker unless it is warranted. I can also be a bit protective of my people and our property, which can be a good thing. While I get along with dogs I know (especially female dogs around my size), I can be reactive on a leash toward dogs I don't know. However, I really do like female dogs - I currently love to hang out and go on walks with my girlfriend Darla, a Doberman. And I love human attention and affection - I am affectionate and caring. He is currently looking for a new home because his owner is no longer able to provide the care he needs and wants Kobe to have the opportunity to find another loving family. According to his owner, Kobe has been a great companion and a very good boy. He's a relaxed dog who doesn't need to be constantly entertained. He's perfectly happy lounging around the house with his people, but he's also ready to head outside when it's time for a walk or some fun. Kobe especially enjoys going to the dog park and playing with other dogs. He is reported to get along very well with dogs and is also great with children. Inside the home, Kobe already has some wonderful manners. He is house trained and communicates when he needs to go outside, giving his family plenty of warning before he has an accident. His owner reports that Kobe rarely barks at home and does not have a habit of chewing furniture. There is one funny exception: paper napkins should probably stay out of reach. Those apparently remain irresistible to Kobe. Home is Jennie Jane favorite place... mostly because that's where all her favorite people are. She's the kind of dog that reminds you the best days don't have to be exciting. Sometimes they look like a lazy Sunday on the couch, a family movie night, a few extra hugs before bed, and everyone laughing because Jennie decided it was time for another howling duet. Her foster mom and her 12-year-old son both say one of their favorite things about Jennie is how incredibly snuggly she is. And if a siren happens to go by? Get ready. Jennie has a habit of singing right along with it. Better yet, if you start howling first, she'll happily join in. It's become one of those silly little traditions that always makes her foster family laugh. As with any rescue dog, her exact breed is always a mystery, but our best guess is she's a Doberman mix. Whatever combination created her also gave her a heart of gold, the sweetest snuggles, and some pretty impressive vocal talents. One of our favorite things about Jennie is that she truly knows how to relax. While some dogs are always looking for the next adventure, Jennie is perfectly content spending quality time at home with the people she loves most. Her foster describes her as having medium to low energy, and we think she'd happily choose a cozy evening on the couch over a busy day out just about every time. She doesn't need constant entertainment or endless activity to be happy. As long as she's with her people, she's exactly where she wants to be. Jennie is currently fostered in a home with a 12-year-old boy, and the two have become the sweetest little buddies. She absolutely adores cuddling with him and has shown what a wonderful companion she can be for respectful children. We think she'd do beautifully with a family that has kids who understand that sometimes the best way to earn Jennie's affection is simply to let her come to you. That same thoughtful personality carries over when she meets new people. Her foster family regularly hosts everything from holiday gatherings to Sunday football watch parties, and Jennie handles visitors beautifully. She'll happily greet everyone when they arrive, but she isn't the type that's immediately climbing into strangers' laps looking for attention. Instead, she'll say hello, quietly do her own thing, and then, once she's decided you're a friend, she'll wander over looking for pets and cuddles. Give her about an hour, and chances are you'll have a new best friend leaning against your leg. Jennie is also wonderful with other dogs. She's currently fostered with both a small male Dachshund mix and a larger male Pittie mix, and she gets along great with both of them. Like she does with people, she simply appreciates slow, respectful introductions. She's not a fan of dogs that rush into her space before she's had a chance to say hello, but once everyone's comfortable, she's an absolute blast to watch. Her foster says she's great at matching the other dog's play style. If her friends are in the mood for a rough-and-rowdy wrestling match, she's all in. If they'd rather play an easy game of chase around the yard, she's just as happy doing that too. Jennie is also cat tolerant and earned Biggie the cat's stamp of approval by politely respecting his space and going about her day. Jennie isn't looking for a family that's constantly on the go.
