Story
Nox is looking for a home — he’s a story of resilience, growth, and second chances. Pulled from a shelter by our trainer at @gentlewolfdogtraining in early 2025, Nox arrived severely malnourished and clearly suffered a difficult past. Today, he’s healthy, strong, and ready for the right person to step into his world. At roughly 3 years old, Nox is a young adult with a big personality. He’s a well-traveled gentleman (no really, he flies with his foster) who thrives in nature - hiking trails, open space, quiet environments. He’s a dog who wants to lean into capable leadership, not chaos. He experienced the worst kind of cruelty but does not need babying — he needs a human who understands what structured support looks like. Someone who can stay calm, think clearly, and provide guidance, also ideally has experience with the breed. When Nox feels understood and like his person has his back, a different dog appears. He's goofy, charming, sometimes hilariously unsure of how to manage his big body, and full of potential. With other dogs, he does well under clear leadership and benefits from clear boundaries. Nox is not a beginner’s dog. His past has left marks that surface when he becomes overwhelmed, especially during transitions into rest. Nox will only be adopted to an experienced home — someone who respects what a dog with a story needs, and has the means, empathy, and skill set to continue his journey. His next chapter starts with the right person — if that sounds like you, please fill out our adoption application: dixiegirldogrescue.org/forms. If interested in adopting one of our available pets, please fill out an application at https://www.cognitoforms.com/DixieGirl1/PetAdoptionApplicationForm2 PLEASE MAKE NOTE- OUR DOGS ARE FOSTERED IN ALABAMA (UNLESS OTHERWISE STATED), OUR DOGS TRANSPORT TO THEIR NEW FAMILIES IN PENNSYLVANIA AFTER THEY HAVE BEEN ADOPTED. Story
Please visit our website directly for adoption application or any interest do not submit inquiries through this site. https://humblehounds.org/adoption-process-1 Meet Dutch – Your Future Velcro Shadow with a Heart of Gold (and a Nose for Butter) Looking for a handsome, goofy, 103-pound snuggle bug who doubles as your hiking buddy and kitchen supervisor? Look no further than Dutch, a 4-year-old neutered male Doberman with floppy ears, a docked tail, and a heart as big as his paws. Dutch is a sweet, energetic boy who lives for fetch, trail adventures, and playing chase with his besties (currently a Frenchie and a German Shepherd). He’s dog-friendly overall, but has strong opinions about fluffy dogs sometimes and can be reactive on leash, so continued training and management are important. He does not do well with cats or small critters—Dutch has a serious case of “squirrel brain” and a strong prey drive. He’s good with kids, but doesn’t know his size and thinks all stuffed animals/lovies belong to him, so he’s better suited for homes without small children or at least under close supervision around them. That being said, he has never had any aggression issues with children or any people in general. Dutch is house trained, crate trained, and walks well on a prong collar, with growing skills on a harness. He’s been through multiple training programs and learns quickly—especially when rotisserie chicken is involved. He needs a fenced yard to zoom around in and would love an active home that can give him plenty of stimulation and structure. This sensitive guy has anxiety, which is well managed on Prozac, and he never goes anywhere without his emotional support rubber chicken, Antonio. He’s a routine lover: breakfast and dinner at 6 sharp. He’ll politely politely—but persistently—remind you if you’re late. He sleeps on a dog bed in the bedroom and rises with the sun, ready to start the day. Dutch loves car rides, though he might bark at bikes or loud noises—he’s just passionate about public safety. He’s also got a serious butter addiction (yes, butter), so keep that and other treats on the counter clear unless you want a four-legged kitchen bandit on your hands. At his core, Dutch is a loyal, loving Velcro dog who wants nothing more than to be by your side, whether you’re hiking a trail, binge-watching a show, or just hanging out on the couch. Dutch is looking for his forever home through no fault of his own. He’s a simple boy, just looking for someone to love, follow, and (gently) demand ear scratches from. If you’re ready to open your heart (and your snack drawer) to this big-hearted goofball, Dutch is ready to be your ride-or-die.

Story
Okla has been with our family for about a year now, last December she was found abandoned on the side of the road with her siblings and we took her in. She’s a sweet loving girl who loves people and other animals. Unfortunately during this past year our families circumstances have changed and we cannot accommodate her high energy needs which leads to her being destructive. She’s also much larger than we anticipated and with having young children and my grandmother in our home it is too much.

Story
Meet Samantha who now goes by Honey, a 5-year-old black and tan female with natural ears and a docked tail. Honey came to us from a former puppy mill and needs a calm loving home to help her learn that life isn’t so scary. In her previous life she was not exposed to much and as such takes time to settle in and become comfortable with people and experiences. She is slowly coming out of her shell in her foster home and is a big fan of loving pets from her foster mom! She has been around other dogs her size but would need a calm playmate that she could be slowly introduced to so that she can adjust to them at her own pace. Since loud noises and sudden movements are still very frightening for her, we are looking for a home without small children. She is untested with cats and other small animals. Honey is spayed and up to date on her vaccines and preventatives. Do you have a calm home where Honey could learn how to live a great life of a spoiled Doberman? If so please fill out an application at https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/DPR/Dog to be considered for her placement. PA Kennel License # 14649

Story
🐾 Meet Jack — Our Big, Goofy Doberman Pup! 🖤 Jack is a 1-year-old black and tan Doberman with a heart as big as his paws! Curious, active, and eager to learn, this handsome boy loves to stay busy and be part of the action. He’s incredibly smart and enjoys training sessions, especially when there are toys involved. Fetch is his favorite game, and he picks up on shaping exercises very quickly. When it comes to grooming, Jack is a dream. He’s calm for teeth brushing, nail grinding, baths, ear cleaning, and even eye drops. He’s got wonderful crate manners too, happily napping or sleeping through the night with his favorite stuffed toy tucked under his chin. Jack was found as a stray and is still tentative about the big world around him. He’s very reactive to moving vehicles, so peaceful wooded hikes are his happy place while he continues working on desensitization. He also loves car rides, but he’ll need to be securely harnessed since his enthusiasm for watching passing cars can make him a bit too wiggly on the road! Because of his size (and his clumsy puppy energy!), he’ll need a securely fenced yard to safely run and play, and a home without children. Jack has shown some mild guarding behavior over found items like socks or clothing, but he’s learning “drop it” beautifully and has made great progress with his foster parents’ guidance. Potential adopters should simply be aware that he may need continued consistency as he adjusts to a new home. This lovable boy wants to be close to his people at all times and loves cuddles, kisses, and companionship are his love language. Jack will thrive with an experienced adopter who understands Dobermans, can continue his training, and will give him the structure and affection he craves. If you’re looking for a loyal, goofy, affectionate companion with endless potential, Jack is your guy. Jack is neutered, microchipped, and all up to date on his vaccines.
