Story
Introducing Mama Hope... A mama who has known breeds far more than love. We pulled Hope during our shelter pull, and from the moment we saw her, we knew she deserved a chance. Her kennel sat right beside the small yards where we were temp testing dogs all day. Through all the chaos, all the barking, all the dogs coming and going…Hope never reacted once. She simply watched, wagged her tail, and pressed herself so hard against the kennel gate trying to get closer to people that her sweet little face scrunched up even more. And honestly? We are absolute suckers for mama dogs. Especially the ones the world overlooks. Hope is estimated to only be around 2–3 years old, but her body tells the story of being used over and over again. Sadly, mama dogs like Hope are often passed over because they don’t look “perfect” enough anymore. But to us? Hope is beautiful. She is gentle, loving, and so unbelievably grateful for human kindness. This girl wants nothing more than human touch, soft words, and someone to look at her with love. Even at the vet, through everything she’s been through, her tail never stopped wagging. Hope absolutely adores people and gets along wonderfully with other dogs too. During this shelter pull, we saved quite a few bully breed mixes. They are some of the hardest dogs to find homes for, but we refuse to let that stop us from giving them a chance. We love them, and they deserve to be loved too. Hope still needs a few months to heal before she can be spayed, but what she needs most right now is a foster home full of love. If you’ve been thinking about fostering, please consider this sweet mama. We cover supplies and medical care — you just provide the love. We would love nothing more than for Mama Hope to finally learn what it feels like to truly be someone’s baby.  Visit www.scoutshonor.org to learn more about Hope.May 24, 2026, 1:10 am

Story
Meet Rusty—a loyal, loving senior dog with a heart full of memories. At around 13 years old, he’s been with our family through everything—from cross-country moves to marriage to welcoming a child. Adopted at 6 months old, he’s deeply bonded and incredibly devoted. Rusty is easygoing and enjoys the simple things: eating, sleeping, and greeting you with excitement when you come home. He still has bursts of puppy energy and loves to explore. He also takes his role as “protector” seriously—especially when it comes to the mailman. As he’s gotten older, Rusty prefers a calm, predictable home. With a young child who is very grabby, we’ve realized he would be happiest in a quieter environment. Rusty would thrive with someone looking for a gentle, devoted companion to share his golden years.

Story
Meet Joy — a pup true to her name!Joy is a 5-year-old Catahoula Leopard Dog mix (about 49 lbs) whose biggest talent is making everyone around her feel… joyful. She’s gentle, affectionate and easy-going with her people.Joy loves being close to humans. After playtime, she’s perfectly happy to settle down at your feet or cuddle on the couch for a quiet evening. She has a medium energy level- she enjoys playful bursts, backyard zoomies and walks, but she’s not a nonstop athlete. She’d much rather spend time with her family than patrol the yard all day. She’s fantastic with kids and has been especially sweet and gentle with an 8-year-old in her foster home. Joy loves fiercely and has a tender, forgiving spirit that really shines around children. She takes treats politely and has an adorable habit of trying to give “hugs” by placing her paws on your waist.About her:House manners? Nailed it.Fully potty trainedSleeps quietly in her crate all night (and actually likes it!)Walks nicely on leashNo issues with people or handlingJoy enjoys playing with other dogs, especially dogs her own size who like to wrestle and roughhouse a bit. Her play style can be energetic and physical, so she would do best with confident canine companions who match her size and play energy. She has done well coexisting peacefully with some dogs in her foster home, though play can occasionally become intense with certain personalities.Because of her strong prey drive, Joy should not live with cats or small animals. She is highly focused on squirrels and birds outdoors and would likely chase them if given the opportunity. She also prefers having her toys and bones respected by other dogs, so thoughtful supervision around high-value items is important.Despite an unknown past, Joy has proven to be remarkably trusting, loving, and adaptable. She’s looking for a home that understands her playful, spirited nature and will give her the companionship, structure and affection she thrives on.She’s ready to be someone’s forever companion! Maybe yours?! Joy is currently in a loving foster home in the Houston, Texas area. She is able to travel out of state and we can typically arrange transportation.
