Story
Eevie is a very stoic, calm, and quiet dog indoors. Outdoors she likes to run around and play. She doesn’t bark (the only time she’s barked with us was when we got a robot vacuum and it was only once). We adopted her from bossier city animal service center back in March. She’s the sweetest dog, we are wanting to rehome her due to us being a military family and not being able to take her with us to our next station. We have a bark box subscription for her and are willing to keep it and have it switched to her new home, we can provide her food and water bowls, harness and leash, and remaining food.

Story
Hello! My name is Taz. Im a very excited boy and I love to play! I would love a nice yard where I could run around with a big family that could always play with me- if not.. just one person is okay too! I know all the basic tricks and Im house trained! I can get along with other animals and people- just need gentle introductions of course! I get a little scared when Im alone sometimes but I think thats normal. I love my kennel so it makes me feel safe. I hope you think about taking me into your home. I would love to be a loyal part of your family.

Story
Sam is a hero and we wish we could keep her but we have four rescues already. She found me driving to work 9/11/23, her and another younger puppy were in the road, Linwood Ave., Shreveport, LA, and she was jumping on the stopped cars! I have never seen a stray act like that. I stopped and got out of my car to keep them from getting run over and I saw the smaller puppy had a collar and it was embedded in her skin. I scooped them up and took them to my vet. Sam is perfectly healthy and 8-months old we think, we got her shots including rabies and dewormed her to be safe. We also started her on Simparica trio for heartworms, fleas and ticks etc. I can't help but think she was trying to get help for her friend. She is great with our other dogs, loves belly rubs, and is generally just a sweetheart. We have advertised locally to try to find owners to no avail. We have tried all the no kill shelters and gotten no response. This sweet girl deserves a chance, please be her hero!

Story
Meet Bud, the Big Black Dog.  Bud found himself in the care of a local vet facility. They love him and want to find him a loving home or rescue, so we are helping them network Bud. While there he gave us lots of face kisses. He deserves a life of love!  Size/Breed: Bud is large. Currently 60lbs. He has long tall legs, a long curled tail, and little nubby ears. His stature from the side looks like that of a Lab or Greyhound mix. His exact breed can only be known via DNA testing (which runs around $80 via Wisdom Panel)  Age: Estimated around 6yrs old.  Weight: Currently around 60lbs. He does love to eat.  Activity level: When I met Bud, he was chill just walking around on the leash when I took him outside. He is a strong puller so that is to be noted for possible family. The vet clinic says that when off leash, he LOVES to run and play in the fenced area!  He is currently being kenneled, so a home environment would be a joy for him. He is such a happy boy that just wants a family to enjoy. His Christmas Give a Gift Buddy sent him presents and Bud loved his squeaky toy.  Other dogs: Bud will have to have a meet n greet with any other dogs in the home to see if they are a good match.  Vetting: Bud has been neutered by the clinic. He is utd on vaccinations, rabies, lepto vaccine and bordatella. Fecal was negative.  Bud is heartworm positive, if the adopter would like to continue slow treatment, the vet can provide a year of proheart injection and explain the slow treatment method.  Any interest of potential adoption of Bud will be between you and the vet clinic (located in Benton, Louisiana) as we are helping them network. If you would like to meet him that can be arranged!  Please email (rockersrescue@gmail.com) or message us if interested and we will provide their information. Thank you for any help in changing this big boys life! We have quickly grown to love him too!     Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.September 20, 2023, 8:10 pm

Be sure to read my FULL BIO all the way down to my vetting and how to apply. Not all sites will show the full bio, so if needed please go to www.rockersrescue.org and click on adoptable pets to be sure you are reading all details. The animals have multiple pictures and usually a video to view. You must apply and have an approved application before we can schedule a private meet. We are located around Shreveport, Louisiana and generally meet at PetSmart Shreveport, or Hollywood Feed Shreveport, or for dogs we can also meet at the adopters home.    Luna Rae-  Female. 2 yrs old. 35-38lbs  Available for foster to adopt program as well. We do take our babies back if it doesn't work out. The foster to adopt program allows you to do a trial run to see if the animal is a great match for your home.  Fur: Luna Rae's fur is medium with thick fur along back to curled tail. Has Eskimo dog in her dna which explains her tail shape, thick fur, and medium size. This long style fur does shed.  History:  Luna came to us a 5 month old puppy. Her owner was leaving for the military. She was adopted and returned 1.5yrs later right at 2 yrs old.  Personality: LOVES her humans. Will lightly stand up to hug you. Will flop in your lap for snuggles and kisses. Very sweet. Loves toys and playing. Enjoys chew bones such as nylabones. She's of course an indoor girl, but would love fenced yard to run in when she goes outside.   Good with other dogs but can be dominant and at times. She currently has a friend name Roe (40lb dog) under our rescue and they play constantly. Fenced yard needed for when outdoors. No small children. In foster home with 11 yr old child and loves the older child.   Training : Kennel trained. House trained. Sleeps in kennel but we are told she will sleep in bed too. Upon her return, she did training with Cody at Red Rover to help her get over some fears she had. She did so amazing with them! We will discuss fully with any interested parties. She is told to "sit" if ever nervous meeting someone new. We tell them to give her space and time and she will approach them when she's ready. We are bringing her in public often to practice. Her new owner will receive 3 free training sessions with Cody if they would like, to go over her commands. She knows phrases such as "sit, lay, here, place, kennel".   Vetting: Utd on all.  Proheart 6 for heartworm prevention. Bravecto (3 months) for flea/tick prevention. All vaccinations. Negative fecal. Spayed. Microchipped with lifetime registry the rescue has already paid for.  About Applying to Adopt: Should you meet and decide to adopt, there is an $80 adoption donation for approved applications. Our rescue spends a lot more than this fee on each life, but it is a way to help give back some to go towards the next life we help.  We are a 501c3 non profit that is 100% volunteer run. We function solely on donations from kind people. If you wish to donate more or continue following/supporting us over time, we would appreciate your continued love to help our organization save lives.  Adoption Process Summary: You apply. We will email or call if we have any questions. Upon app approval, we would schedule a day we all meet at PetSmart Shreveport or Hollywood Feed Shreveport or at your home. At that meet we would all make sure that you feel the pet is a good match for your home. If so, we run the adoption. You fill out our contract, pay your donation fee, and receive your folder with their medical records. It helps to bring a leash to this appointment because your pet will go home with you that day if we all feel it is a great match. Woohoo!  We take your adoption picture and you head off with your new furry friend! We can often provide adoption coupons too.   TO APPLY: complete the DOG APP at  https://www.rockersrescue.org/info/adoption/    Please include as much information about yourself as possible. Some people applying like to send an email with pictures of their home/pets/ or family. We are located around Shreveport, Louisiana and generally meet at PetSmart Shreveport, or Hollywood Feed Shreveport.   For dogs we also may meet at the adopters home.  Note: READ FULLY.    Roe - Female. Under 1 yr old. Est Birthday Dec 20, 2022. Roe is 41lbs and growing. Breed: Roe's main breed is Australian Shepherd! Aussies come in a black/tan version. Roe's "Aussie" in her DNA greatly shows through her shape, thick back and tail fur, and her herding like play. She is very soft!  History: We pulled Roe from Caddo Parish Animal Control. She was just a little puppy that had been found on the street. She is a healthy and beautiful girl now!  Personality: Roe is in a foster home with a 11yr old child and she is always excited to see her human friend. Very playful and  loves people. Well behaved at public events. Kindly independent in the home (busy playing) but will also follow you room to room at times.  She is sweet and goofy!  Roe loves:  Playing with toys. Nylabone chews. Getting ice cubes to eat.  Sleeping in bed. Loves playing with other dogs.  Lounging on the floor or couch. She likes to try to herd/chase other dogs at times as part of her play (Thats the herding breed in her.) Loves to be with her people. If she's not napping, she's playing or chewing on a chew toy. Can be a bit dominant with other dogs at times. Is in a foster household with small to large dogs and cats currently.  Roe is kenneled when the humans aren't home. She has been letting us know when she wants to go outside by scratching at the door.  She knows "SIT".  She is pretty good at practicing "LAY DOWN" as well. She does the excited puppy jumping dance so it's important to keep up the "sit" routine for petting.   Roe's fur is too thick for her to be outdoors for long periods of time. She can overheat easily. She needs to go outside to potty or play and then back in when she's ready. This also means her new home needs a fenced yard. She needs to be able to run and play to let her energy out.  Vetting: Utd on all vaccinations. Monthly simparica trio for heartworm prevention. Same treats monthly for flea/tick prevention. All vaccinations. Negative fecal. Spayed. Microchipped with lifetime registry the rescue has already paid for.  We do take our animals back if it does not work out. We also have a foster with potential to adopt program available for approved apps if anyone would like to go that route. We can't wait to find Roe's future family that will love her as we do.
