Story
I got the dog from an older couple from Franklin County that could not tend to her. I was planning on trying her for a squirrel dog. She showed interest in it, but I ended up getting very busy and was not able to give her the time and attention needed. She is a very sweet dog, playful, smart, and deserves a much better home than I can give her. Just looking for someone that is willing to give her the attention and love she deserves. I do believe she could be a very loving dog to whoever gives her attention.

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Hi, my name is Lexi. I am a 10 yr old 30#  orange/white spayed Brittany.  I am housebroken, utd on vaccines, hw neg and on hw/ft prevention.  I need a family that will love and spoil me, but at the same time to help me feel safe and loved.  I need patience, kindness and a family that will be willing to give me time to let me settle.  I will need a physical fenced in yard and would love another friendly dog, but not necessary, but would like to have a family that is home most of the time to be with me. I’ve not had the best life most of my life. My past person would leave me weeks at a time outside to fend for myself sometime with no water. But a nice lady down the road noticed I was left alone again. She would give me water and food. Even though she had a nice voice I still was very scared of her. When my person was home, I did get to go inside some but no place to lay down or play due to stuff everywhere on the ground. Even though I like smelly stuff it was really hard for me to breath inside. One day my person never came back, and I was alone for few months. The nice lady did feed me and tried to get me to come to her, but I just wasn’t understanding why she needed to touch me. Then one day the nice lady came with another lady.  I ran around the big yard to hide in all my favorite hiding places. I was getting hungry and noticed there was food and water under the porch. It was very hot, so I went for it, and I got trapped. I was very nervous but maybe they were here to help me. My now foster mom tells me every day how beautiful I am with lots of kisses too. I think I like it. I have other brothers and sisters so I’m never alone. They are teaching me the ropes around here. I still get nervous some, but my foster mom is helping me to understand it will be ok. I’m loving all the attention for sure.  I have come a long way and now I am ready for my caring loving home.    The adoption fee for TX/Lexi Lex, who lives in Ballinger, TX is $250,  which helps to offset our vetting and allows NBRAN to rescue more of these wonderful family members.  If you are interested in making Lexi Lex part of your family, please complete the on-line application by visiting www.nbran.org .  Contact the South Central Region Coordinators Melinde Waddle at macgammy@gmail.com and/or Nancy Walker at nwalker@capecod.net  and then let your state coordinator know so we can get the ball rolling.  A phone interview, home visit and vet check will be required as part of the approval process by your state coordinator, before talking to the foster of Lexi Lex.   A 300 mile radius for Lexi's adopter is a must.June 2, 2023, 11:33 pm

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
A bonded pair of  9 yr olds are looking for a home to love them and spoil them, they are brother and sister that have been together all their lives.   They are lost without the other one.  They are healthy, UTD and on HW/FT Prevention.  Spayed/Neutered.   They do need a privacy 6’ fence as Katie is a climber.  We were told they were from a hoarding situation and the mom had to go into assisted living, but we got records for their whole lives, and they were always kept utd on vaccines and everything.  So, thinking not quite the hoarding. Cooper Joe 33 # French Brittany/Pointer (Bonded w Katie Mae)  Great with other dogs, they just don’t play with them.  They put them out with the other dogs to play.  Very friendly pair.  They would rather be around their people.  Super sweet, affectionate and they follow each other everywhere. If you are looking for a pair of precious 9 yr olds,  you can’t go wrong with this bonded pair. The adoption fee for OK/Cooper Joe, who is in Tulsa, OK is $100,  which helps to offset our vetting and allows NBRAN to rescue more of these wonderful family members.  If you are interested in making OK/Cooper Joe part of your family, please complete the on-line application by visiting www.nbran.org .  Contact the South Central Region Coordinators Melinde Waddle at macgammy@gmail.com and/or Nancy Walker at nwalker@capecod.net  and then let your state coordinator know so we can get the ball rolling.  A phone interview, home visit and vet check will be required as part of the approval process by your state coordinator, before talking to the foster of Cooper Joe.  Transportation can be arranged up 1400 miles with the adopter being responsible for at least the last 100 miles.June 2, 2023, 11:33 pm

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Hello, my name is Davey.  AKC Brittany I am a cute, handsome 2-year-old neutered energetic boy if I don’t say so myself.  I am up to date on all vaccines.  I am heartworm negative, and I am on heartworm, flea and tick preventive. I love being able to play outside and I especially love to run and chase those pesky squirrels and lizards which makes your backyard safe from being attacked.  I weigh around 46 pounds and love playing with kids in the backyard.  I am crated trained and housebroken.  I have a tail which is the most beautiful looking tail you have ever seen.  I have some basic training. I was surrendered to NBRAN because my previous older owner couldn’t keep up with me and didn’t have the time for me.  I love to be loved, cuddled, and I will even hug you back.  I do require a physical fence and another young fun-loving pup to play with. NO CATS. From Foster Mom:  Davey is a wonderful dog.  He is loving, playful, trustworthy, and intelligent.  He loves playing with his foster 4-legged siblings, made friends at the dog park, and received high praise from his day at doggie day care.  He is a smart boy and a fast learner. He learned to sit when we said “go for a walk”, and patiently waited for us to put the leash on him and open the door.  Does well in the crate, likes to take naps at times in his crate with door open. He loves to cuddle on the bed and couch and really enjoys having a throw pillow or blanket to cuddle up on. The adoption fee for Davey is $400 which helps offset our vetting and allows NBRAN to rescue more of these wonderful family members.  If you are interested in making Davey part of your family, please complete the on-line application by visiting www.nbran.org.  Once the application has been completed, you will be contacted by your state coordinator.  A phone interview, home visit and vet check will be required as part of the approval process by your state coordinator, before talking to the foster of Davey.  Transportation can be arranged up to 1400 miles with the adopter being responsible for at least the last 100 miles.          June 2, 2023, 11:33 pm

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Are you looking for a pair of loving, intelligent, pretty, and active girls who are always on the go?  Well, then Tosa (a.k.a. Toaster) and her sister, Mika (a.k.a. Microwave) might be just the pups for you.   Tosa  is a healthy, 39.1 pound, almost one year old Brittany/Lab Mix. She adores running around in her fosters’ yard, going for walks in the neighborhood, hunting for squirrels and other critters, playing fetch, performing surveillance duty while looking out her foster family’s picture window and sliding doors, and gobbling up all the training treats she can.  Her current favorite past time is carrying a tennis ball around in her mouth, throwing the ball for herself, and then retrieving it. The name “Tosa” comes from the Potawatomi  word for “firefly.”  Tosa has a special meaning for her foster parents.  It is a contraction for the city of “Wauwatosa,” a place where Tosa’s foster parents once lived.  Tosa lives up to her name. Her personality, eyes, and smile always sparkle.  She loves with her whole heart and whoever adopts her will not be disappointed!  Tosa is a very devoted dog once she feels comfortable. She basks in all the kisses, hugs, tummy rubs, and praise she receives.  She often likes to cuddle up next to her humans on the sofa as they relax in the living room or sleep with them in their beds.  She is a big velcro dog.  In fact, foster mom has observed that Tosa will howl a bit after being put into her crate as her humans go out the front door. This pup is NOT a fan of car rides nor thunderstorms.   Tosa likes people and other dogs IF she knows them well.  If she is unsure, she will bark.  Tosa’s foster mom feels her fear is rooted in her limited time for socialization while she and her sister were being boarded before coming into foster care.  As a result, any potential adopter(s) who is/are experienced with the breed and is/are serious about adopting Tosa and her sister  will need to keep in mind slow introductions of people, animals, and novel situations/ inanimate objects.   Serious adopters will need to be committed to continuing Tosa’s  training.  Right now, Tosa knows “sit,” “paw,” “stay,” and “come.”  We continue to work on, “down,”“look at me,” and “off.” Mastery of these commands will help Tosa on her walks and her yard.  On walks, she has a tendency to chase moving cars.  Early on in her foster’s yard, she jumped the four foot fence. This puppy also  likes food and has been known to help foster mom by “prerinsing” the dishes placed into the dishwasher.  Tosa fiercely adores her people, her house, her yard, her toys, and life in general.  She is most definitely a “lover” and not a “fighter.” Since Tosa is part of a bonded pair, and her sister, Mika, is a little less predictable, foster mom would not recommend adding this bonded pair to more canines in the home.  Tosa is typical of all sporting breeds and requires plenty of exercise and mental stimulation.  She does best with one or two one-hour walks daily plus lots of romping around in her foster family’s fenced yard.  Tosa likes her treats; so training should come naturally for those who are committed to spending time doing so.  She is crate and potty trained. Tosa also still needs to do plenty of heavy duty chewing. ( Foster Mom has learned that the hard way:). )  When Tosa first arrived in foster care, she was leery of our five-year-old.  Now she looks for her in the mornings and cuddles with her in the evenings. Again, slow and calm introductions are a must for this dynamic duo. Tosa is a jumper and a climber, so a six foot privacy fence would be best.  This firefly along with her sister are ready for an experienced adopter. She and her sister will make a great addition to his/her family! UTD on vaccines, hw neg, crate trained, housebroken and on hw ft prevention. If you are looking for a pair of active loving girls,  you can’t go wrong with this bonded pair. The adoption fee for WI/Toaster aka Tosa, who is in Brookfield, WI is $325,  which helps to offset our vetting and allows NBRAN to rescue more of these wonderful family members.  If you are interested in making WI/Toaster aka Tosa part of your family, please complete the on-line application by visiting www.nbran.org .  Contact Hallie Barbara at minnesotabrittany@gmail.com and then let your state coordinator know so we can get the ball rolling.  A phone interview, home visit and vet check will be required as part of the approval process by your state coordinator, before talking to the foster of Toaster aka Tosa.  Transportation can be arranged up 1400 miles with the adopter being responsible for at least the last 100 miles.    June 2, 2023, 11:33 pm
