Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. GEYRAN was saved and cared for by Muscat Dog Adoption, before sending her with other saved dogs to Give a Dog a Home Rescue in Sebec, Maine. They arrived in the US on 28th January 2025 and were transported to the rescue where they are settling in. GEYRAN was cleared by the US canine center for diseases upon entry into the US. She is spayed, rabies, core vaccines, heartworm and tick tested negative, is on monthly preventatives, microchipped, weighs around 56 pounds and has an estimated date of birth or 2 February 2021. She is a front leg amputee. Geyran is the  mother of Binky. GEYRAN's (Geeran) Story is that she rescued after her and her pups were shot. Sadly only one of her pups survived and Binky came to the US at the same time as her. Geyran had been a street dog and had her pups on the streets and managed for her family to survive, socializing with some nice locals for about a year before the shooting. She was shot twice in her leg which unfortunately did too much damage and her leg had to be amputated. She is an incredibly happy and social girl who loves everyone she meets. Stray dogs in Oman are referred to as "Wadi Dogs" and are a mix of the popular sighthound breeds, specifically thought to be descendents of the majestic Saluki and other smaller breeds, many resembling whippets with their small agile frames. If not saved these dogs are often shot or brutally ran over and left for dead. We are looking for families that have the lifestyle that the dog needs to lead a healthy, both mentally and physically life, who can afford a GOOD quality food, toys and treats and understand the importance of veterinary wellness checks. GEYRAN is available for adoption for an adoption fee of $300, as noted she is located at the rescue in Sebec, Maine and families are required to complete and submit an  adoption application and when approved schedule an appointment to come to the rescue to meet and hopefully take home this precious girl home. Applications are processed with 24 hours of them being received. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet DEXTER! DEXTER was originally rescued and cared for by Muscat Dog Adoption before traveling to Give a Dog a Home Rescue in Sebec, Maine, with other saved dogs. He arrived on January 28th, 2025, and has since settled in well at the rescue. Health & Background Upon entry, DEXTER was cleared by the U.S. Canine Center for Diseases and is in great health: Neutered Rabies and core vaccines up to date Heartworm & tick disease tested – all negative &#239&#184&#143On monthly preventatives Microchipped Upon arrival, weighed approx. 34 lbs Estimated DOB: September 16th, 2022 DEXTER’s Personality DEXTER is a confident boy once he feels safe in his space. He’s very affectionate and loving, gives great snuggles, and thrives with human companionship. Friendly and social with other dogs Exposed to cats in Oman, but hasn’t been around cats since arriving in the U.S. Rides great in the car Leash trained What DEXTER Needs We’re looking for a loving home that can provide: ‍An active and engaging lifestyle to keep him happy, healthy, and stimulated Good quality food, treats, and toys Regular veterinary care and wellness checks Understanding of his background – coming from a very different country means new sights, sounds, and smells could be overwhelming at first. He’ll need a patient family willing to help him build confidence at his own pace. ‍ DEXTER’s Story In January 2023, DEXTER and his sister were rescued as young pups from a dangerous, high-traffic area near hotel complexes in Oman, where stray dogs are not welcome and often face being shot or run over. Thankfully, they were taken in by Muscat Dog Adoption Rescue. His sister was adopted. With no local interest, DEXTER was chosen to travel to Maine in hopes of finding his forever family. Stray dogs in Oman are known as “Wadi Dogs”—a unique mix of sighthounds like the elegant Saluki and smaller agile breeds, often resembling whippets. If not rescued, many of these dogs face heartbreaking outcomes. Adoption Details Adoption Fee: $300 Location: Sebec, Maine Families must complete and submit an adoption questionnaire Once approved, you'll be invited to schedule an appointment to meet DEXTER before hopefully taking him home &#226&#143&#177&#239&#184&#143 We try to process questionnaires within 24 hours of receiving them [Click here to complete the Adoption Questionnaire] Want to See More of DEXTER? She is spayed, rabies, core vaccines, heartworm and tick tested negative, is on monthly preventatives, microchipped, weighs around 33 pounds and has an estimated date of birth or 5 November 2022. HATTIE's story is that she was found as a young pup in a busy tourist area in Muscat where dogs are either shot or run over and left for dead. Sadly her mother and all 5 of her siblings had been shot and she was the only survivor. Hattie was taken to a wonderful Omani lady who cared for along with a lot of other dogs. Whilst she spent most of her time in a large crate where she could stand and stretch and was taken out for bathroom breaks. She only got to go on walks twice a week when volunteers would come and help with the dogs. Stray dogs in Oman are referred to as "Wadi Dogs" and are a mix of the popular sighthound breeds, specifically thought to be descendents of the majestic Saluki and other smaller breeds, many resembling whippets with their small agile frames. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. TANIA & TIARA were saved by SAVE KOREAN DOGS from Tobong Dog Slaughterhouse on June 29th 2022  from a horrendous and painful evil death. She arrived in the US on 2nd November 2023. TANIA is spayed, rabies, core vaccines, heartworm and tick tested negative, she is on monthly preventatives, de-wormed and microchipped. She has an estimated date of birth of 21 January 2021 and weighs around 40 pounds. She is a Jindo mix breed dog, with the Jindo being a national treasure. Tania is a sweet gentle girl who is in need of a home that is going to go slow and show her love and give her the security she needs, whilst going out on walks and adventures and helping her get familiar with the strange environment, strange noises and smells that are so very different to south Korea. Unfortunately Tania's sister Tiara passed away in January 2025 and so Tania is alone without her sister, but here at the rescue with the house pack. TAnia is shy and nervous which is to be expected with all she has endured so we are looking for a nice chilled out family who enjoys walks and adventures, but also chilling on the coach. Tania is great with other dogs, having lived with 15 here at the rescue and has not been phased by the cats, although the cats do tend to stay out of the way. Please be sure to follow our Facebook page for regular updates as we do not always have the time to update the website and adoption sites on all the individual dogs. We also post video's on our YouTube channel where you can see the dogs personalities, get a better idea of age and looks also. We take a lot of pictures and videos and don't always have the time to post them on the dogs individual webpage and adoption site, so we ask that you go to the rescue  YouTube channel  and  photo albums on our Facebook page  to see a LOT of pictures and videos. Interested families are required to complete our application process and once approved schedule an appointment to come to the rescue to meet and take home their new best friend. Our process takes 1-2 days as long as we are able to talk to references, so be prepared to be approved (hopefully) to adopt within a few days of submitting the adoption application. https://giveadogahome-rescue.rescuegroups.org/forms/form?formid=5838  Click here to watch a video of TANIA - $300.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.February 19, 2025, 6:15 pm
