Story
Everyone, Meet Baron! Baron is a handsome 1 1/2-year-old Australian Shepherd weighing 50 pounds and looking for a forever family to call his own. He is fully vaccinated, neutered, and microchipped, making him ready to start his next chapter. Baron gets along wonderfully with other dogs and would enjoy having a canine companion, though he would also do well as an only dog. While he can be a little shy when meeting new people, he simply needs a little time and patience to build trust. Once he gets to know you, Baron forms strong bonds and becomes a loyal companion. This sweet boy is house trained, kennel trained, and walks beautifully on a leash. He has a calm, gentle personality and tends to be more of an introvert than an extrovert. Baron would much rather spend quality time with his people than be the center of attention. One of his favorite ways to beat the Texas heat is splashing around in a kiddy pool. Like many dogs, Baron is not a fan of thunderstorms or fireworks, but with a safe and comforting environment, he settles well. Baron is currently being fostered in La Feria, Texas, but he can be transported to an approved out-of-state adopter at no additional cost. All transport expenses are included in his adoption fee of $200. If you're looking for a loyal, well-mannered companion who will reward your patience with unconditional love, Baron may be the perfect match for you. Please share Barons story and help us find the forever home he deserves! Story
*** ADELIA IS BEING FOSTERED IN LA FERIA, TEXAS *** Adelia is a stunning 14 lb terrier mix who came into rescue emaciated and had clearly been through a lot. She came to us dangerously underweight, and while she's doing beautifully now, she still eats like every meal might be her last. She is very food motivated. She has now fully embraced the good life and is thriving. She is active, playful, and deeply entertaining, the kind of dog that will have you smiling on a daily basis just by existing. Adelia is fully vaccinated, spayed and microchipped. Adelia tested positive for heartworms but has since finished treatment. One of her most charming quirks? Adelia has a very unique way of moving through the world. She hops, she trots, she loves to run and play with toys. This little girl will be happiest in a home that can keep up with her energy. She is also doing wonderfully with potty training and gets along great with other dogs. Now, Adelia is not a cuddle bug, but don't mistake independence for indifference. She will settle in right next to you and happily soak up a good face scratch. That's her love language, and it's pretty adorable. Adelia needs an active, patient adopter who appreciates a little dog with a big personality. She does well with adults and other dogs, though we don't yet know how she feels about cats or small children. She is quirky. She is beautiful. She cant wait to find her furever home! Her adoption fee is $200 in the RGV. Her adoption fee covers transport costs so no additional costs will be incurred by the adopter. Please review our adoption requirements before applying: https://www.anassafehavenrescue.org/adoption-requirements.html Adelia is being fostered in La Feria, TX. Story
Meet Bella The perfect adventure companionSay hello to Bella, the athletic and spirited pup who's ready to join you on all your adventures! Bella, available for adoption through Harley's Hounds in South Texas, is a small and compact bundle of energy that you can take anywhere.Bella is not just athletic; she’s a powerhouse of energy and agility. Whether it’s hiking, running, or just playing in the yard, Bella’s enthusiasm and stamina will keep you on your toes. Her favorite spot during car rides? The front seat, where she can enjoy the view and be close to her favorite human. Here’s the deal with Bella: she's a one-pup show. While she's okay with other dogs in public on a leash and is selective with other dogs, she thrives best as the solo pet in a home. Bella can coexist with other dogs in a controlled setting, but she hasn’t been tested in a multi-dog household environment.Bella is curious about cats but shows no aggression, making her a possible fit for a home with feline friends, provided proper introductions are made. She loves to be the center of attention and craves to be the focal point of a loving family. However, she hasn't shown much interest in the children (ages 4 and 8) of her foster family, so she might prefer a home with older children or adults only.If you’re looking for a loyal, active companion who will be your adventure buddy and front-seat co-pilot, Bella is the perfect match. She’s eager to find a family where she can shine as the center of attention and share her boundless love and energy.Contact us to learn more about Bella and how you can make her a part of your family. She’s ready for her next great adventure with you!                ##2196566##

Story
Lucy is a young (1 year old) female, spayed and fully updated on vaccines and preventatives. She’s great with other dogs, not cat tested. Although shy initially, she’ll warm up in no time.  At just a year old, she’s still young enough to be playful and curious — but mature enough to appreciate the quiet comfort of being near her people.   She’s fully vetted — spayed, up to date on vaccines, and current on preventatives — so she’s ready to walk straight into her forever home. Lucy does great with other dogs and would thrive with a friendly canine companion to help her continue building confidence. She hasn’t been tested with cats yet. When you first meet her, she may be a little shy — the world hasn’t always shown her consistency — but give her a little patience and a soft voice, and you’ll see her blossom. Once she warms up, she leans in for affection and looks at you like you’re her whole world. Lucy would do best in a home that understands that the most beautiful connections take just a little time. In return, she’ll give you loyalty, sweetness, and that quiet, steady love that only a once-shy dog can give. ##2672671##

Story
Meet Bosco — the happiest boy you’ll ever meet. Bosco is a 3–4 year-old Labrador/Terrier mix, about 60 lbs of heart, muscle, and pure joy. His foster family even considered renaming him “Happy,” because that’s exactly what he brings everywhere he goes — a whole-body wag that starts with his tail and works its way up. Bosco was found wandering a neighborhood in Harlingen, South Texas, likely dumped by people who didn’t deserve him. Despite that, he hasn’t lost his trust in humans. In fact, Bosco still believes his people are out there somewhere — the ones who will love him the way he deserves. And he will love them right back with everything he has. Bosco is smart and eager to please. He already knows sit, shake, and stay, walks nicely on a harness, and is crate and potty trained. Like many young labs, he starts out with a burst of enthusiasm — but once he settles in, you see his sweet, loyal soul shine through. He does wonderfully with other dogs and would love a home where he has a buddy to play with. Cats aren’t his thing, but people absolutely are. Because Bosco is strong and gets so excited to be near his humans, he would do best with kids old enough to handle his joyful energy. His foster describes him best: “Bosco is one of my favorite personalities on this earth — curious and caring, yet strong and confident. He deserves a family who will love him forever and show him how to fold into everything they do.” Bosco is neutered, fully vaccinated, and on preventatives, and he’s more than ready to find the family he’s been waiting for. Adult dogs like Bosco are so special. They’re past the tiny puppy stage, but their hearts are just as open. They understand companionship. They form deep bonds. And when they realize they’re finally home, the gratitude is something you’ll feel every single day. If you’re looking for a loyal, playful, deeply loving companion to share your life and adventures with, Bosco may be the one who’s been waiting for you all along. Come meet Bosco — your best friend might be right here. ##1754313##

Story
Meet Lola — a joyful little shadow who just wants to be by your side. Lola is a sweet Terrier mix (we think she has some Chihuahua in her too!), estimated to be around 3 years old and weighing about 35 pounds — the perfect size for both adventure and snuggles. Lola is the kind of dog who loves big. When she’s happy to see you (which is almost always), her excitement shows in full force — happy jumps, tail wags, and the desire to be right next to her people at all times. She’s affectionate, loyal, and happiest when she’s part of whatever you’re doing. She gets along wonderfully with other dogs and would thrive in a home with canine companions who can continue helping her learn the rhythms of family life. While she hasn’t been cat tested, she does well with kids who understand boundaries and can match her playful energy. Lola is still learning her way in the world and gaining confidence every day. She would do best with a loving, patient family who can guide her, continue reinforcing her manners, and help channel her enthusiasm into all the good things life has to offer. The best part about Lola? Her heart. She is deeply devoted to her people and wants nothing more than to belong. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will greet you with joy, stay close to your side, and love you with her whole heart, Lola might just be the perfect addition to your family. ##1754308##
