Story
*** Franklin is in a foster home. ***Gray/white bicolor, long-medium hair, neutered male, born approx. 6/1/18, #19334Cats: likely fineDogs: likely notChildren: quiet older kids BACKGROUND: Franklin was found in sorry shape, thin and malnourished, struggling to find food in trash bins and just trying to survive. His skin was a mess and his eyes were so sad. He needed time and TLC in foster care to both physically and mentally recover and regroup. Now Franklin enjoys warm places and good company, never skips a meal, and is ready to find a warm loving home!PERSONALITY: Franklin is such a lovely boy, and as his skin improved so did his fluffy fur! He enjoys being gently groomed with a brush and keeping his fur in tip-top shape can be a happy experience for both him and you. Pets around his head and neck area are Franklin’s favorite thing: give him a few scratches under his chin and he’ll melt like butter. He’d prefer if you don’t pick him up much, as he feels uncertain about things when his paws aren’t under his control, but once Franklin gets to know you he is very willing to come to you for attention and bonding time… he cherishes the connection you share and it will become an essential part of his daily life. He is good with new people if they’re not too loud or abrasive; he wants a slow and gentle introduction and an overall quiet home. Given that, this handsome boy shines!COMPATIBILITY: Franklin has largely been in his own space in foster care, but he has shown interest in the other cats he’s seen and seems open to interaction, so we think he could do well living with another mellow cat if given a proper intro. He is not comfortable around dogs, at least large ones. Calm and respectful older children who aren’t too loud or boisterous would be best.Franklin is such a good boy, and he is looking for a quiet and loving home where he can live his days in peace and comfort. Will you make this wonderful kitty’s dream come true? While healthy, Franklin tested positive for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV). This is a type of virus that typically causes some weakening of a cat’s immune system. It is a cat-only virus and cannot be spread through casual friendly contact between cats. FIV+ cats can and do live quite normal lives in quality, duration, and happiness. A good informative website is FIVCats.com.

He can be a bit of a pushover and lets others eat his food. Mochi likes to run around and appreciates a good amount of living space for him to roam and stretch out. This calm boy loves being with people and getting lots of pets and snuggles.---Bebe is a cutie who is friendly with everyone! Pets and snuggles? Definitely. Wand toys? Absolutely. She likes all sorts of toys, cozy heated pads, and a nice tall cat tree. Bebe is an all-around amazing cat with no flaws that we can figure out!---Eclipse is a Velcro Kitty… he is very very snuggly and affectionate and he will downright demand to sit on you and be petted! He needs lots of attention and love from his humans and he is happiest when he can sleep with you at night. Interactive wands are fun, too!COMPATIBILITY: They are great with each other and other cats. (Mochi is fond of Bebe.) Story
All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, shots current (DHPP, Bordetella and Rabies where applicable), dewormed, flea and tick treated, and microchipped.  * If you are interested in a dog, please first read the biography on the dog (keep scrolling down for the bio!) and then go to our website, www.dpsrescue.com for an application. Our adoption fees vary. Each biography will specifically list the adoption fee.Introducing Romi, she is an 8 year old magical girl with a heart full of love and a spirit full of playfulness. She's a sweet soul, always ready to share a tender moment with those she trusts. Romi is also fiercely independent, showing a smartness that shines through in her problem-solving abilities. She can be a bit shy at first, but this only adds to her charm. Once she warms up to you, her loyalty is unwavering. Although Romi had never visited Egypt, she practices the ancient art of being adored by humans. Her body is more than a temple; it’s a museum artifact that you can look at but not touch unless given permission. As with most museums, hushed tones and slow movements are much appreciated. To summon this fluffy antiquity from her hiding spaces, only sacrifices of the finest treats and feather toys are deemed acceptable. Romi’s curator must be dedicated to her maintenance and enjoy having just her to care for. She would love to be the queen of your heart. She is looking for a forever home where she can share her sweetness and playfulness. She's ready to be a loyal companion, a playful friend, and a source of joy. She has been spayed, vaccinated, tested negative for FIV/FeLV, dewormed, flea treated and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $150. Adopt Romi and experience the unique bond of love and loyalty that she will offer!August 27, 2025, 11:57 pm

This beautiful and friendly kitty was abandoned along with her two kittens at our Safehouse. She has become a beacon of hope for the lost and forgotten. She found solace with us, where her independent and loyal nature shines through. Now, she's ready for a new mission: to bring joy and companionship to a loving home.  She's no stranger to change, having weathered life's ups and downs with grace and resilience. Despite her past, Leilani's spirit remains unbroken. Her amazing foster home has helped her have faith in humans again. Her affectionate nature and warm purrs are sure to fill your home with joy. She did test positive for FIV which means her immune system is not as strong as other kitties and she could be more susceptible to certain health issues as she ages. However, kitties with this status live a normal lifespan and she is sure to be a steadfast friend for life. Apply to adopt Leilani and let her sprinkle a bit of her magic into your life! She has been spayed, vaccinated, tested negative for FeLV, dewormed, flea treated and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $150.December 17, 2025, 9:04 pm
