Story
How this pet arrived: Raven was brought in by our Humane Law Enforcement team on July 12, 2024. Why this pet is the one for you:Meet Raven, a beautiful long-haired black cat looking for her new home. Raven came to the shelter feeling under the weather, and we discovered she had bladder stones, which she bravely endured surgery to remove! Now, she's on the mend and looking for a home that can offer her a little extra TLC as she recovers. To ensure her continued health, we recommend a prescription diet and yearly vet exams. Although Raven can be a bit shy, she does enjoy gentle petting and attention. Since she came to us as a stray, we're still learning about her preferences, but she's eager to reveal more of her sweet personality to her new family. Ready to give Raven the loving home she deserves? Ask about adopting her today! Primary Color: Black Weight: 8.2 Age: 5yrs 2mths 0wks

Story
How this pet arrived: Frankie was brought in by his previous owner on July 28, 2024. Why this pet is the one for you:Introducing Frankie, a true virtuoso in the world of whiskers and waltzes! This suave kitty comes from a home with a full orchestra of other cats, and he's looking for a new symphony to join. Frankie's solo career isn't for him; he absolutely needs a feline duet partner to keep the melody of his life in harmony. Frankie thrives in a peaceful concert hall, so no young children or barking dogs, please. His preferred tempo is adagio-slow and leisurely-so he'll need a patient conductor who understands that the best bonds are built without force. Are you ready to compose a beautiful life symphony with Frankie? Adopt this feline maestro and let the performance begin! Don't forget to bring a secure cat carrier for a safe transport home!Shy/Fearful Cat:  Frankie requires a virtual behavior consult, please watch THIS video to learn more about them. Story
WORKING CATPoe is part of our outdoor cat adoption program, which finds placements for cats who aren't suited to living as indoor pets. Poe would make an ideal resident for a farm, horse stable, barn or workshop. You can give this pet their best life by committing to provide them with shelter, food and water in a safe outdoor area. Poe is altered, vaccinated and microchipped and will be adopted to you at no charge. San Diego Humane Society and other cat professionals highly recommend adopting 2 to 5 outdoor cats at one time. Poe must be adopted with another working cat or have another working cat in their new home. Cats are more likely to stay at their new home if they have the company and companionship of other cats. Being housed together or near each other during the acclimation period allows the cats to get used to each other. Once released outdoors, the cats will likely look out for each other! Call 619-299-7012 to learn more about adopting this cat and other outdoor cats. Make sure to bring a secure, hard-sided carrier to the shelter to bring this cat home!To learn more about bringing home a working cat, please click HERE! Story
How this pet arrived: Catshark was brought in by a community member on September 10, 2024. Why this pet is the one for you:Meet Catshark! Catshark arrived with a few of his siblings - consider adopting two! Catshark is a shy little kitten with a big heart waiting to blossom. He may take some time to warm up, but with patience and positive interactions (ex. wand toys and yummy treats), he'll come out of his shell. Catshark would do best in a quiet home where he can feel safe and build his confidence at his own pace. Playful and fun-loving, this kitten's antics will provide endless entertainment. This kitten approaches life with curiosity and enthusiasm. Their excitement about the world around them lasts all day long (until naptime, of course)! With boundless energy and charisma, this kitten loves to play. But what they're most excited about is the chance to share their love with their new family! Don't forget to bring a secure cat carrier for a safe ride home! Primary Color: Brown Tabby Weight: 1.7 Age: 0yrs 0mths 10wks
